  1. What's wrong with Behringer and M-Audio for a beginner? It's not like he's opening a mastering studio. Don't be such a nazi baba. Behringer and M-Audio offer great products for newbies that will serve him well.
  2. Tipped by Anak: The sound bits are not that promising either: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/try/try1cd002.html

  4. 1) What programs you use, and any hardware instruments, midi controllers, etc (PC Specs too)? Current setup includes: AMD64 based PC with Audiophile2496 Sound Card, M-Audio BX8a monitors, M-Audio Oxygen Keyboard, Behringer Xenyx802 Mixer. Software: Cubase SX3, Reaktor, Kontakt, Discovery DSP and Albino. 2) On average, how long does it take you to build and finish a Song? From 2 days to months. 3) Which parts do you find tedious when building your track (if any), if it pattern sequencing, automation, etc? Structure and Intros. I leave them for the end usually. 4) Where did the inspiration come from to start producing music? Mainly from the fact that i don't hear much stuff that I'd like to hear. So instead of whining about the past i try to create the future. Eh, that sounds pretentious. 5) AND Your favorite style to produce? Anything that makes me move while i create basically.

I am not planning to spend too much time with the scene next year. Hope there will be interesting IDM/Minimal/Ambient releases and some interesting findings from the far past. Planning to listen to some Bob Dylan, Neil Young and the likes.
  6. Don't patronize. One of these days you'll release a really really bad album and we'll all have a one big goat laugh at you. Pointing fingers and all. It ain't easy being numero uno.
  7. It's not worse but it's like seeing Italian soccer team losing to Israeli just because she has a bad year. It's a bad full on album and it's even worse because it's Pleiadians. If you want worse full on albums than you should check Elis Van Ghoul or some other Israeli crap that is released nowadays.
  8. Depends on what you chose in the settings.
  9. Actually this mix was the one that started my interest for Pete Namlook

  11. I can already tell you the winners even before the topic started. Best Album - Ka-Sol Best Label - Suntrip Records This are not my picks (by far not), but it's too obvious.
  12. The Ticon album was released in 2005 and a great album it is.
  13. Not sure there will be 5 psy albums on my choice this year. There were several good tracks here and there but not that many good albums from start to end.

(Holden Remix) (8:02) 14 Plastikman - Cor Ten (1:32) 15 AFX - Every Day (4:14) James Holden is a former prodigy kid of the British Trance scene who break through first at the tender age of 18 with the huge Horizons hit that was played to death and was licenced later to many compilations and mix sets including Dave Seaman's Global Underground album. A few years later he set up his own label "Border Community" that considered by many as one of the most interesting and influential labels nowadays including the seminal Soopertrack / Zu Fuss by Extrawelt, Drowning In A Sea Of Love by Nathan Fake and more. Definitely a fine lable with a broad and futuristic view on the electronic music. This double album presents Holden's eclectic (to say the least) tastes and fuses seemlessly Minimal Techno with Dub, Electro, IDM and even some Psy Trance. Can't say how good are his Dj'ing skills in real life but his Ableton Live skills are impressive. The flow here is remarkable and he manages to fuse so much interesting music without sounding artificial for a second. Really hard to milk some more words for this one but if you enjoyed Sasha's Involver and if you like your music melodic, laidback and warm you should go and check it. Not another hit collection with a super star DJ on the decks. This one was made with love. 10/10
  15. 16 i think with AXS. Than moved to Rebirth, Fruity Loops, Cubase SX
  16. I am aware of a few millionaires that listen to psytrance.
  17. Yes. But not necessarily. There are few release that maintain the " " " Goa " " " feeling imho without recycling old ideas but taking the music further. I find some Liquid Soul tunes having that vibe. That particular Pleiadians album have absolutely no Goa vibe whatsoever, but it's not his biggest problem. The problem is that it's dull and idea-less. It sounds like GMS in a bad day and it says a lot.
