  1. its not a lame remix, i doubt he could afford the royalty payments for using the voodoo people sound samples. its a very very good tune and excellently put together. far from lame mate
  2. dude, ive already done that. and i didnt get too many tunes. and no albums at all. have they never released an album? if not, thats just wierd. i really like Silicon Sound - Shodan and Wired. very good tunes indeed.
  3. hehe south africa has the best venues dude. the rabbit hole, silverstroom, grabou apple farm, darling (by the dam)....all really really awesome outdoor venues. as opposed to a dingy warerhouse here in london...
  4. after hearing their live set a month ago in london, i think they are absolutely fantastic, yet i cant seem to find any recent cd's done by them. does anyone know of any good silicon sound single tunes, or even cd's they have released? i really dig their style.
  5. ive contacted a few shops in the hopes of actually buying it on cd (i buy 95% of all my trance, the other 5% is stuff that is unreleased and you HAVE to download it, otherwise youll never hear it) and basically that tune is unreleased. you cannot buy it coz it was never put onto cd. if you want to get it. download soul seek (http://www.slsknet.org/) install it, seatch for it, and nick it from there. thats how i did it. i dont think that its illegal because it has no licensing since it was never released. i could be totally wrong though. wicked tune btw.
  6. thats what im looking for! you guys rocks man!
  7. fak! but theres parties every weekend in capetown, you just gotta know where to find them. wouldnt mind going to organifix for an evening again. i dig it there.
  8. capetown is just really a fin place to live. its really great and has a fantastic psytrance scene, one of the best in the world actually. some of the best locations....(aahh...silverstroom, my first psy party) if you just want a fun holiday with lots of sunshine and good trance music. go to capetown. you wont be sorry.
  9. sh1t that sucks, A.S. were still pretty underground when i was still living in SA. ill be in SA from the 9th of Dec to the 29th. gonna deffos go to a vortex or alien safari, but not if there is a dnb floor. drum and bass is stupid.
  10. ok, i really need the name of this tune. its a fairly new tune, couple of months old at the most. at the break it has some guy saying somthing along the lins of "fish and chips, mary f***ig poppins, this is London" and then it has ned flanders voice saying "sure, i'd be happy to help, what can i doo-diddly-diddly....(it morphs and goes all fuctup). any suggestions. i also has quite an uplifting little melody after the break. nice tune.
  11. underground will never die!!! my reasons for not liking minimal is just that. theres not enough going on. sounds too simplistic. it doesnt stimulate my mind enough. just just a personal opinion and doesnt mean i think its bad. just not my cup of tea. im sure that there are lots of people who love it.
  12. ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!! ripcast!!!
  13. i love the "Tweakers" album cover. its fantastic. also i like (gasp!) the cover for the supervisor - infected mushroom. very nicely done. although its not very "trancey" its still very good.
  14. sounds fast! 148bpm!! would really like to hear it though. can you get us discount!!!?
  15. no ofence mate, but if you think this is good psytrance, then i dont know. ITS NOT PSYCHEDELIC AT ALL!! its typical run-of-the-mill, skazi-esque full-on isreali sh1t. Boost is OK it has a good melody, but thats it. boring full on bassline (which is similar in every tune) probably not more that 3 layers of sound at a time in any tune. its just not that good mate. seriously. exaile have done some gewd tune. unfortunatly none of them is on Hit the Machine. just my personal opinion though. i wouldnt give this album more than 5 out of 10.
  16. sorry guys, but i think mine takes the cake. 1999/2000 millenium vortex/alien safari party on an apple farm in cape town, south africa. Hallucingen's live set, he actually wrote the tune "Milloonium" for the Vortex party in South africa (for those of you who didnt know) and at 12 o clock all the sound went down and the "ticking" intro from that tune started. (they had an 80 000watt sound rig) and it just went mental from there onwards. insane and fantastic. best live set i have ever experienced. plus i was tr1pping my nuts off. so it was all gewd.
  17. oooh, dude i was waaay off then. thanks mate.
  18. hehe, talk about murder on the dancefloor
  19. nah, knock it off had irritating, grating sounds in it. too much. Exailes best are "radio edit" "one of the tribe" "flower" and "boost". but thats where it ends.
  20. a really good long scary intro to start a full on set...hmmm.. how about: "Snug as a Bug - Tuned". i heard them start their set off with that tune and it set a pretty freaky vibe. good tune.
  21. i have no doubt that the last shpongle album will be nothing short of fantastic. there other albums were of an incredibly high quality and simon posford is no amature either. i dont mind that its gonna be their last album, coz i know for sure it wont be posfords last album, he'll bring out something even better im sure. a 3rd hallucinogen album? we can only hope.
  22. well put. chemical crew have no soul.
  23. dude, look at the facts... hardhouse, hard trance, funky house, house etc. all follow a perticular pattern that applies to them all, they are consistant and fairly predictable. psytrance (a lot of it) doesnt always follow a consistant melodic pattern, and a lot of it is fairly unpredictable. you need to have actually listened to the tune before if you plan to beat mix it in. i have been djing for about 6 years now and been thru the hardhouse hard trance scene. your mate will give u a vinyl and ask you to mix it in. p1ss simple because it all follows the same structure. this is completely different with psytrance. you try beatmixing the intro of a psytrance (which usually has no beats)tune into the end of another tune. not too easy.most festivals ive been to the mixing of the songs are seamless. you dont hear it come in, which is GOOD MIXING!!! if you dont notice it, its a good mix. the dj isnt supposed to go all psycho on the decks and bringing in arb sounds and peiced of other tunes or start scratching as that would stick out, and in turn pull you out of your "trance" that you were there to experience in the first place. in my opinion, any idiot can mix a hardhouse set or a hardtrance set. its stupidly simple and easy. to create a 3 hour journey of psychdelic bliss without any transition noticable at all. that my friend takes skill. "Most of them I've heard can barely hold a beatmatched mix cleanly for more than 32 beats, have little idea of EQing" dude, you have been to some sh1t parties then. have you even seen what the EQ setup looks like at a large event compared to a hardhouse party? you need to bloody have a degree in nuclear physics to pull of the equalizing perfection some of these djs do. go and see Silicon Sound, or Hallucinogen, or Infected and watch them mix. then tell me it requires more skill to mix hardhouse or techno. i dont think so mate.
  24. i would say drum and bass would be the most difficult music to mix.
