400-500 USD = now that BRL/USD = 2.20 ---> 880/1100 Reais. NOT TRUE!!!!! For example.. If you work as a bar tender/Mc Donald's Cashier you will probably earn 400-500 reais a month... so.. 181-230 USD/month... or to make it worse 150-200 euros. Minimum wage = 300 reais/month (136 USD/115 EUR) An average person that has just gotten a univerisity degree (22-25 years old) would earn the average 600-800 USD/month... Now you guys know why the majority of the people in Brazil live with their parents until they get married and stuff... AND why piracy plays a MAJOR role here in the industry.. just today I read an article in the news paper saying over 2500 CD stores shut down in the past few years.. only major stores still operate.. FYI: McDonalds Meal = 9-10 Reais, Monthly Rent 1-bedroom in good area = 300-500 reais, bus ticket = 1,60-2 reais, beer @ a bar = 2.5-7 reais, ciggies pack = 2-3 reais

What music are you listening to right now?

Ticon - Six Years After (new album's last track... r0x0r!!! ) -
Baty Boy is so.. so... it's like a psytrance album for kids.. "Baty Boy" "Super Duper Man" "Gummy Bears Tea" ... "Bob and Ken's Night Out" "Barbie On E" So much fun!!
-
I ahd this one track by Goa Gil and indeed it sounded much like Derango "Tumult"s content.. and dude.. I'm not ready to die yet!! You mean Kode IV has turned to the melodic full-on side, leaving his obscure past behind? That music is just too much noise for my ears..
-
I just listened to Derango.. well.. about 10-20 seconds of each track.. not straight 10-20 seconds... I didn't like it AT ALL. Too DARKY/Heavy... It's like the death metal of Trance IMHO. GMS all the way, especially if compared to Derango zombie's music.

Word... haha Agreed... So many haters here.. lacking respect to many artists and opinions.
-
I'd like to go actually, but I'll probably play a proggie set saturday as well
-
I'll see if I can find some of his music. But after all, thanks for the kind replies. I'll post something here later.
-
I feel really sorry about this. Hope it all turns out alright. Best of luck.
-
I'll check Derango out, Cinos.. and give the thread a feed back.
-
I never listened to Goa Gil.

Goa Gil is playing here in Rio this Saturday the 19th. I'd like to know if it is worth attending to this open-air party. He's supposed to play a 18hr set ( ) What do you guys think?

That's your point of view... The first Final Fight was awesome.. that's 10 years ago.. Haven't played the 'new' ones -
You should give it a shot. And musically/technically they have matured. Perhaps your music taste has changed as I don't think their music has changed its style from what it was a couple of years back, so...
-
I just got an email from HOMmega's mailing list... Astrix's "ON FIRE" will be part of the sound track of the Capcom's video game "Final Fight Streetwise" Yeah, baby!!! H-Bomb Dance Floor Spanking Tune! I like this, you know? I like when music I danced to goes big.. Discuss... (flamming coming!!! )
-
I'll give it a shot Edit: first track -> NOT PSY and I LIKE IT. Edit2: I like it very much... damn!

My opinion regarding Growling Mad Scientists is that they're proper e-music playboys. They spend their time going to good clubs and listening to the cream of the crop elegant house/electro/techno in Ibiza and when then they go back home and are like "hey.. how about we play some video game?" (ie: "How about we make some music for the dance floor???") and sit in front of their computers and hard gear and mount layer over layer. GMS's productions are technically good in my opinion. It is indeed generic full-on, but somehow they manage to get better stuff out on CDs and some remixes that other projects simply cannot. They have charisma and the crowd (especially the ladies) seem to dig 'em.. the psy-playboys They even speak some portuguese!! I liked the new album with the Batman tune remixed (Baty Boy), with a few tracks which are hits already (played @ Sonica and @ all major parties in Brazil I've been lately). Psynews's readers are more or less pickier about what they listen to, but I found it interesting to read FP alongside with others saying GMS's album was at least alright Respect to all the comments!

Recommendation for you guys Mike Monday - Tooting Warrior and Bon Johnson - Party Lumber Massacre Brilliant tracks! -
I voted "Yes for a change", BUT I'd like to stress that I didn't know WHAT change it was actually. I believe the review is for music-review ONLY. That is, at least, what I wanted it to be like. I would like to have a forum to read about the music itself ONLY. If I want to discuss if the music is good or not, that's another thing. I'd like the review section to act as a guide for me to buying new music, finding artists, etc. For example, reviews which contain comparisons such as "This X's album relates to artists Y and Z style. In case you like this, you might also want to listen to Y and Z" are very welcome.

I give it 8.5/10 I'll review it later ir no one has reviewed it yet
