  1. no no Ypsilon 5 is MUCH better than Ethereal!!! It sounds more like Dimension 5 (odd that they both sound alike and both have a "5" in the end, is this just a coincidence?) actually the more i listen to the Four Carry Nuts album, the more I'm dissapointed... guess it's one of those "get old fast" albums... haven't heard the other on your list though... personally I'd go for Phi, it sounds like the most promising SMI²LE
  2. yeah I've heard that the Lo-step reedit has made waves all over the "normal" clubbing scene... SMI²LE
  3. yeah enough with the promo material, we want the real stuff on CD!! SMI²LE
  4. yeah you're right that 2nd one sounds more like Zorba, I got a little carried away there Maybe the stuff played at the party was unreleased stuff to be featured on the 3rd album and that sounded like GMS? SMI²LE
  5. so then it seems it's a tie between shangri la and entrance... which is best? anyone read both? SMI²LE
  6. so what is the quality of this shangri-la magazine? how about entrance? are they only about psytrance culture or about trance/ electronic music in general? SMI²LE
  7. I'd like to subscribe to some interesting psytrance magazine... anyone know which one is the best? I've only heard of Mushroom but that one's in German (I've heard they're thining of making english secions). Anyway, if there's some Mushroom equivalent in english let me know SMI²LE
  8. yeah they probably played stuff from their 2nd album which is indeed a lot more in the "typical" GMS style. I recommend you listen to their first one though SMI²LE
  9. noisy??? how the hell can anyone say that Ayahuasca or Magic Mushrooms are noisy?? For me they're perfect tracks for "coming down" in the morning... SMI²LE
  10. "RAIJIN, the new label established by Index which is starting the cell phone song melody project throughout Europe " WTF??? SMI²LE
  11. "DVD: Clerks" is that the version where a dude enters the shop in the end and shots the main actor in the head? Aparently that ending was edited out cause it was considered too shocking... I'd like to get my hands on that one SMI²LE
  12. well Towelie, if you have really listened to the album, you must have noticed that something else hapens in the tracks except from the GMS bassline and the samples... how about the atmospheres? the wonderful flute melodies by Raja Ram? the nice synth melodies? the fact that each track is supposed to replicate the "mood" created by a certain drug? the fact that tracks range from nice and coherent ones (Magic Mushrooms) to totally crazy ones (Salvia Divinorum)? for me, anyone who listened to the album should've noticed mainly these elements and not the 10 second drug samples and the bassline... and how could the bassline be the typical GMS bassline when it ranges from calm tracks to fast ones? GMS ONLY does fast BPMs, here you also have +/- 100 BPM tracks... SMI²LE
  13. Just wondering... is Leprechaun War Dub here different from the -1% edit on your album? SMI²LE
  14. totally agree with Kristian on this!! I've seen that most people are so disspointed by the hoards and hoards of typical full-on releases on one hand, and typical progressive releases on the other that whenever they get their hands on an album that has a totally different style, they're all enthusiastic about it and say it's the best album ever. But keep in mind: winning is one thing and winning by default is something else... That said, yes, Mechanical Age is indeed one of the better albums of 04... SMI²LE
  15. Personally I liked it. A LOT of people dissed this album simply because it was a GMS side-project for eveyone said it was just another GMS full-on clone. However I DON'T agree!! Another thing that pissed people off were all the drug references. But IMO once one passes all these "details" and concentrates on the actual music it's pretty good. For me there's a LOT of variation between tracks ranging from "typical" full-on stormers (DMT, Hashish) to more laid-back tribal stuff (Magic Mushrooms, Ayahuasca) to more rock-influenced traks (Mescaline). I simply don't undesrtand how people can dismiss this album by saying that it's just another typical GMS CD. IMO most of the people saying that never even listened to the album! For me it was one of the best 02 releases... (but don't go for their 2nd album - Heroes of the Imagination - cause that one was a HUGE dissapointment) SMI²LE
  16. is that the same Chakra as in Chakra and Edi Mis? SMI²LE
  17. 5000 copies??? man, it really makes you wonder just where the hell all these CDs are today... SMI²LE
  18. "but wouldn't artists of the old style be a little honoured that their music might live again in some ears, many years down the road from whence it originated?" yep, that's more or less what I thought. That's why I'd apreciate the input of some artists. How would they feel in such situations? For example EP, I've found in the list of old releases one of your release called "Master of the Rainforest". To my knowledge noone even knows of this release! How would you feel if people, after all these years, could dload freely the tracks on it? (and I haven't seen the tracklist so if the tracks were re-issued on other available albums, then you'll obviously be against, that i can understand, but if they're all out of print?) SMI²LE
  19. So lately I've discovered that our national media library has shitloads of very old trance releases (i mean stuff BEFORE 1995). After all, belgian record lables were the pioneers in releasing this stuff back in the days... And I was thinking, since most of this stuff has been out of print for a long long time, could it be possible to make a site on oldchool where we could dload such tracks? I mean, technically it's illegal to offer tracks for free but in this case the CDs have been out of print for a long long time and most of the artists aren't even known by today's psytrancers. It could only bring fame to long-lost names like Aquila, Paranoia, Lumukanda, Greater than One, Bulbawee, etc. Maybe this could even spark re-issues of remastered copies of this stuff? Personally I can only see positive outcomes for this. So what do you people think? And I'm especially interested in EPs point of view since he is an artist and probably is one of the rare people who HAS heard of these acts... But any input is welcome Maybe even someone with some bandwith and technical skills to spare? SMI²LE
  20. BTW what ever happened to Nova Zembla anyway? SMI²LE
  21. so in conclusion we're all waiting for a new Delta album Hope they don't start doing electro like X Dream... SMI²LE
  22. err... for me that new Total Eclipse album was anything BUT oldschool goa... ah well... SMI²LE
  23. tie between Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy and Pleiadians - IFO SMI²LE
  24. hehe too many to choose from Astral Projection - People can Fly (Alien Project Remix), well just about any Alien Project track now that I think of it... Bigwigs - Fraktalik Fraterniti album Prana - Taiyo (Joujouka Mix) loads more that I'd rather not think of... SMI²LE
  25. yeah of course it's good, just that if you buy it expecting to be full-on you might be surprised... SMI²LE
