well it seems to me that there are as much non-commercial artists as commercial ones... Don't see what's the difference between this line-up and one at, say, Samothraki or Voov?? I'd like to be there SMI²LE

Different people have different tastes and that's that... Why are AP making stuff that sound like a slightly more complex form of Nu-NRG when they were making deep complex goa 10 years ago? Why are talented artists like Etnica, Dado and Absolum (former Transwave) and Graham Woods simply copying today's simplistic and uninteresting style of psytrance instead of making the masterpieces they did 10 years ago? I don't think anyone has an answer to those questions... SMI²LE

well this actually happens with every music genre: first you have a handfull of very skilled artists making a certain type of music out of passion. Then more and more people like it, more and more people talk about it and more and more people start producing it. So music of lesser and lesser quality is churned off at ever increasing speeds... It happened to techno, it happened to "normal" trance, it happened to jungle, it happened to hardcore... so it was logical that one day it was gonna happen to psytrance as well. It's odd cause in a way the scene is thriving and more alive than ever cause more and more people are involved, on the other hand it becomes harder to find quality stuff... SMI²LE

First of all, I never found psysex to be THAT good... second of all I found that Come in Peace doesn't differeciate itself significantly from the army of israeli clones to be bought into consideration... sorry if i sound a bit too harsh... SMI²LE

"both Transwave albums" actually Transwave has 3 albums "yah that Skazi album was awfull..." not that bad if you listen to it LOUD, it took me a while to get used to their style but now i find it's pretty good!! SMI²LE

not that it's bad and I'm happy that some new artists still make oldschool (contrary to oldschool artists that find it more interesting to copy today's style...) BUT the album doesn't come close to established oldschool references like Dancing Galaxy, Alien Protein, Cosmology, Nasha, etc. and even newer stuff like Ra and Dimension 5 seem way better in comparison IMO So what do you think? "why do you say that? " well, maybe because 90% of today's new releases are full-on instead of 90% minimal like it was the case between 2000 and 03? Of course nothing completely dies (just look at oldschool and Ethereal) but it slowly fades away... SMI²LE

good if you like groovy housy minimal (actually I think they were one of the last representatives of this dying genre). I didn't like it at first but with all the copy-paste "full-on" we're getting these days, it's a welcome change SMI²LE

well actually X-Dream's style evolved a lot through the ages. They started with oldschool but with an unique production, somehow it was "calm" sounding compared to your usual oldschool with a hundred screaming 303s. Then their sound moved from oldschool with a twist to a very original style in Radio. Some (like me...) call it the album that started the whole minimal trend, others consider it to be dark descrete melodic, anyway like it or not, Radio is a milestone in the history of goatrance. Then they moved up a notch with Irritant which is basically noisy psytekk and isn't that original in its sound compared with their other albums IMO... So all in all, personally I never really liked their sound (whatever the period), unless I'm in a particular mood and then I find it's pure genious. But then I play the album (track) again the next day and I think "nah, it isn't that good". SMI²LE
