I thought it wasn't released yet... SMI²LE

LOL Ale, in the future I strongly advise you not to use the term "nitzhonot" around here... most people here see it as a sort of insult ;-) of course if you ask me, it's better to have nitzhonot playing on comercial radios than Eminem, but that's just my opinion :-) But I think that in your case you're mixing up nitzhonot *empty Coke can nearly strikes his forehead -- see, I told you people didn't like hearing that word -- * with psytrance, which is stuff like IM SMI²LE

hello Dr. Gonzo!! nice to see some people from psygarden coming here ;-) SMI²LE

if I was a british tabloid reporter I'd be asking: Did you sleep with Simon P? And if you did, how was he in bed? ;-) SMI²LE

I especially liked your work on the Spacebaby Soup track (that's you, right?). So tell us more on yourself, I've always wondered who was behind those great vocals. You know, how old you are, how did you get to know the trance scene, what kind of music do you like,...? (of course a nude pick would be welcome as well ;-) SMI²LE
-
you mean you're THE michele, the one who sings on Shpongle and Younger Brother tracks? SMI²LE

you can also check the review section on this site... 03 releases have been abandoned because of lack of involvement in this site, but releases between 96 and 02 have had a lot of unbiased reviews. But don't forget that music tatste is a VERY personal thing and that it's not because you'll find 20+ reviews saying "this is awesome" that you'll find it awesome too... SMI²LE

yeah well that's my point. No artists are selling these videos, they were intended for MTV or other music TVs years ago and they don't get any airtime anymore, so I think it's a safe bet to say that noone will sue you for this... SMI²LE

well actually I think that the MFG video is homemade, but IMO it's the best one from the lot. I'd like to send it to you Kristian but I use MSN. If you have (or want to set up) an acount there, just ad me to your list and I'll send them to you, no prob. :-) SMI²LE

LOL Robin dude, the links section on this site haven't been updated in a looong long time and I doubt that they will be in the near future... you can mail either children01@free.fr or mars@planet-d.net who are the people in charge here, but don't hold your breath... SMI²LE

COOL!!! I'm happy someone FINALLY put those rare goa videos on the net (BTW contrary to dloading MP3s, downloading music videos is LEGAL!!). Too bad I already have them all :-( BTW do you know the webmasters? Cause if they're interested, I could send them 2-3 more videos that aren't on the site. SMI²LE

"For some reason, people's loathing of Tsuyoshi seems to go beyond simply not liking his music, but being personally betrayed and offended that he doesn't make/play GOA trance like he used to anymore." EXACTLY!!! He was one of the goatrance pioneers, he can't change like that!!! Not only that he puts out crap today, but he seems to deliberately want to ruin the old Prana sound by making it crap!! Did anyone hear the Joujouka remix of Taiyo on Sounds of the Sun? CRAP!!! He should be shot in the head for that alone!!!! SMI²LE
-
yep, the favorites section didn't really represent the true favorites since it wasn't updated anymore!! And as you know, tastes change every month, let alone every year!! SMI²LE
-
oh and it says that the trance mix was done by one Tony Garcia. Does anyone know anything about this dude? SMI²LE

so in my search for that first track that started it all I stumbled upon this: Nitzer Ebb - Getting Closer (Trance Mix) released on an obscure 12" in 1990!! It basically sounds like industrial but there are some parts that sound very very much like goatrance. First of all, I was amazed to see the word "trance" used in a record that old and second of all, when thinking about those stories about goan DJs editing tracks on their DAT players I could just close my eyes and see exactly what parts they'd throw out and what they'd keep. It was very interesting :-) So does anyone else know this track? What are your opinions? SMI²LE

well, actually lately, I've been thinking of a classification by the usual time that a certain style is played... I don't know if I'm making any sense here, but I'll show you an example: "Pure" Morning (Bodh Gaya, Feuerhake,...) Morning full-on (Astrix, 1200 Mics, Absolum, Talamsca, CS, AP, etc.) Morning experimental (Haltya, Texas Faggot...) Morning minimal (Shiva Chandra, Atmos,...) Dark full-on (Schlabbaduerst stuff, BLT, Menog,...) Dark minimal (Parasense, X-Dream,...) Dark experimental (if such a thing exists, I haven't heard any yet...) And of course, chill-out So basically you take the "usual" goa styles and divide them up into music with a "happy feeling" to them which will be "morning ..." and music with a dark feeling which will be "dark ..." lately, I've come to think that this is the best way of classifying goa for me, but of course you're free to follow whatever you like SMI²LE

I found the following to be very good, but I bet you already know them: V/A - Tales from the Dark Forest (especially Puro - Eyes Wide Shut) V/A - Orbius Tertius (especially Phyx - Secret and Artifakt - 9 Coins) V/A - Dilation (especially Broken Toy - Devil's Playground - EXCELLENT morning track!!!) V/A - Third Trip (Hyper Frequencies - New Order of Noise; Psycotic Micro - Grave Digger) Xenomorph - Qlippoth (Tzelmawet is pure oldshool 96 style!! and Hunter's a remix of The Slimaki Murder Tool kit, but it sounds even better than the original) Divinorum - Talisman well, this one's actually released in 2000 but it's VERY rare so you might not know it, it's very oldschoolish LSD - A Trip Into Another World, this one's released in 2002 and it's the same artist as behind Divinorum, but this album's more on the mellow morning side (Bodh Gaya and Feuerhake style). It's very nice for those afternoon hours, especially the track "Can You Hear?" and "ISMS part II" (which IMO is MUCH better than Isms Part I released on Psychoactive Scandosounds) and, IMO the most innovative newcomers of 2003, Electrypnose!! They released 3 (!!) albums this year. I heard 2 of them, Reve de Neige and Perdu Au Millieu de Nulle Part and I loved both!! their music really takes you on a journey well, I hope that there's at least ONE track here that you don't know yet... :-) SMI²LE

you don't take the name of the Lord into derision like that 2 times and expect to live to tell someone about it... SMI²LE
-
agree with DT!! how could such a great artist go downhill like that is beyond me... SMI²LE
-
oh and let's not forget that the KLF were MASSIVELY influenced by the psychedellic culture (after all, they took their name from a RA Wilson book!!) so I suppose that there are many more "hidden links" between Goa and KLF... SMI²LE

"perhaps we should have a login/password, with the ability to log in automatically with a cookie." we already do!!! Jesus, when's the last time you've reviewed an album on this site??? SMI²LE

BTW the video from the long version, which was VERY rarely shown on MTV, is a fucking killer!!! You basically see during more than 7 minutes a car going from the top of the screen to the bottom. It starts going at "normal rate", then slows down untill it stops, then it picks up movement again sloooowly and during the whole 7 minutes you wonder "is this car moving or not"? IMO it really reflects the effects when on psychedellics. Damn, I miss that video!! SMI²LE

Towelie: you shall be punished for talking such heresies!!! :-) SMI²LE
