  1. "How about: Green Ohms - Coming Through in Waves Cosmosis - Contact Man With No Name - Interstate Highway Electric Universe - Unify ?" err... well, first of all, I was talking about Ra cause this was a topic about Norway and Ra was from Norway (and I was unconsciously hoping for the poster of the topic to come in saying something in the lines of "Ra is part of this project" or something). Second of all, no, I don't think that any of the albums you mentioned (except the new MWNN cause I haven't listened to it yet) are closer to oldschool than Ra. Sure, they're all made by people into oldschool from the beginning but they just don't have that oriental-mystical feeling to them any more. Using 303s and multiple layers are not enough criteria to make it oldschool IMO. And to tell you the truth, personally, I find that Green Ohms and Cosmosis are an insult to what they did in the past (GNOTR - Rock Bitch and Cosmosis - Cosmology). EU still has it, but still, you only have like 2 tracks that are really really good on his album. And MWNN I still have to listen to, I hope he won't dissapoint me SMI²LE
  2. the reviews section is still there!! just look on the bar on the left... it's just not updated anymore with new releases... SMI²LE
  3. Well sure it didn't stand up to older standards like AP, Cosmosis, Tandu, Pleiadians and such but still it was THE last oldschool album released!!! Anything that came afterwards is kiddie play compared to it... SMI²LE
  4. "VA - Destination Goa 2 is one of my favorites. It's an old album and it's full of old niiice music..." err no, that's called a "compilaiton". An album means that all the tracks on it are made by the SAME artist! As for me... Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy I don't care what anyone says, this was the bomb and still is!!! SMI²LE
  5. well my latest pick is Har-Err Prusky and Johann Bley - Colours on the comp I won't dance. It's brilliant!! SMI²LE
  6. I miss Ra... the last oldschool survivor... SMI²LE
  7. "to talk with schlabaduerst listeners what is the weird about it?" err... like that's what this forum is for, no need for mails IMO it's better for everyone to see our comments. and I'm no expert but isn't the german word for shit "scheisse", not "schalbba"? and DP... don't sweat it, I doubt Chil will post it, I sent about 3 new album reviews like ages ago and they never were put on the site... SMI²LE
  8. well actually I find that a goa party is a rave in it's purest form: it takes place at a different location every time, sometimes it's illegal, there are loads of drugs circulating around, music and everything around is made to enhance the drug experience, there's no age limit, and cops and politicians want to shut them down at all costs. Those are definately the ingredients of a rave if you ask me... SMI²LE
  9. ah now that's nice to hear!! good luck everyone!! SMI²LE
  10. From the DJs I've heard in Belgium, Anoebis seems to specialize in that. Problem is that when DJs start playing only older stuff, people start complaining that there's nothing new, no surprise... ah well... SMI²LE
  11. Well like I said in the review, IMO the Whole Menog album is basically a rip-off of Dark Nebula - Black Beauty. Another track I find in the same style is Devant Species - Carrier (actually I find it BETTER!!) SMI²LE
  12. "i bet all of u use them too(or have rich ass parents) and come here and play the novel game." I have no idea what you're talking about.... ;-) SMI²LE
  13. and to think that Mr. Hanky used to visit this site regularly... SMI²LE
  14. "It takes very specific steps to achieve that 'sound'." yeah I know, that's why I was saying it was a total rip-off SMI²LE
  15. "Is is similar to Texas Faggot and Pelinpala stuff, or different? " NO!!!! It has NOTHING to do with Finn stuff!! It sounds a lot like... well... BotFB since they're involved directly or indirectly in the creation of basically every track... Comps very similar to Schlab stuff are Psychoactive Scandosounds and Orebro Freakfactory. I guess you can get them more easily in the US... SMI²LE
  16. traveller dude, what the hell are you talking about??? I listened to that rm sample and it didn't ring a bell... what was it supposed to be a rip-off of? SMI²LE
  17. So I take it noone here actually listened to that Underworld track? Hmm... now that's odd... SMI²LE
  18. oh and also try out the Menog album, it has a horror-movie soundtrack feeling to it too SMI²LE
  19. no no no, it's not a sample, it's the WAY the dude signs (is it Simon P himself?) mean the altered voice in which he says "Crystal skulls" and then starts singing and such. The EXACT same effects and altered voice and burst into singing are in the Underwrold track!!! And I was talking about the 2nd comp micheru, sorry :-( SMI²LE
  20. The "horrorest" of them all is definately Ubar Tmar - Yellow Yoga. NOTHING resembles beter a bad trip than that track IMO!! Also try out Battle of the Future Buddhas - Reverse Vertigo Syndrome SMI²LE
  21. Now I don't know who ripped whom off, but the voice part in Underworld's Dinosaur Life 3D and Shponle's 7th revelation (on Secrets of the 13 Crystal Skulls) sound WAY too much the same to be a simple coincidence IMO. So what's the deal here??? Both are respectable artists so I'm amazed they'd even think of doing such a thing!! SMI²LE
  22. well yeah D-Dave, my thoughts exactly... current reviews for Schlab 5: "I think Schlab 5 is good." by r2d2 "It's typical Swedish Scando forest sound, if you like the other ones you'll like this one for sure! :)" by Anoebis "Yes i can recommend this cd too :P" by Afterhourz so now if you had about 15 euros of hard-earned cash, would you buy a CD after reading those recomendations? I wouldn't... of course on the other hand it's realeased by you guys so I guess it should be good SMI²LE
  23. "I think Schlab 5 is good." ROFL r2d2, DP is sure to buy it after reading that :-) SMI²LE
  24. don't worry dude, it's not like you've signed some sort of contract forcing you to listen to only one musical genre!! Why not spend a year or 2 listening to something else and then have a taste of psytrance again? Problem with music (a certain style or artist) is that either artists make more of the same, which make people label it as "uninnovative" and "mediocre copies" or they make something compelety different causing people to say "this ain't no psy cause the psy I'm used to sounds like this". But IMO this has a good side to it: there are SOOOO many talented artists out there putting out very very good stuff in other musical genres, why not take a look at what they're doing? Personally, I'm recently discovering some very interesting underground hardcore, which has like NOTHING to do with what you usually find on hardcore comps... curently checking out some live mixes by Spiral Tribe and Sound Conspiracy and fuck this is good!! SMI²LE
