daim, my plan is backfiring on me as always :-((( SMI²LE

"i only see dirty hippies there , where are the chicks ????????????????" How bout these 2 beauties ;-)
-
so there still are a few Belgians here... I thought they all migrated to psygarden... well, chaalove, parties in or around Brussels are pretty rare, but in the Flanders part (especially around Antwerp and Ghent) you have some very very cool parties going on!! Like RooMusH said, check out www.goatrance.de for the next party, there are quite a few in line :-) Hope you went to Rhakti Dei last week-end SMI²LE
-
well, I guess that unreleased trading is good for DJs and the scene, that way people hear the stuff at parties and are more motivated to buy the album once it's out SMI²LE
-
when exactly did he play? I never know who's playing in these things :-( SMI²LE
-
what about Mechanik Sound? SMI²LE

psychotronic : you must be joking... what have Wizzy Noise ever done except follow established trends and ading a little personal touch to them? SMI²LE
-
ah yes, now that's I've heard the live set I can understand why everyone's so dissapointed. Indeed, contrary to what you'd expect from hearing this album, Miko and Harr-El evolved their sound incredibly latey!! During their hour and a half set, ALL the songs played were absolute killers!! I can't wait to hear a new album with those tracks in it!!
-
Let's just hope that they won't do the same thing to Pleiadians as they did to Etnica, that would really be a shame... SMI²LE
-
say anything you want but THE king of intros remains Pleiadians - Alcyone!!! SMI²LE
-
I'm just having a hunch here but isn't Tales from the Dark Forest supposed to be Orebro Freak Factory 3 but they changed the name cause the 2nd wasn't very well recieved? SMI²LE
-
yeah probably cause they were among a hand-full of artists still making full-on when it was so trendy to do minimal (including themselves with Etnica!!). Too bad an album by this project never saw the light of day... But I'd be happy with a 3rd Pleiadians album... anyone thin that'll come? SMI²LE

the topic wasn't about some favourite classics, it was about THE best album ever!! ;-) SMI²LE

Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxay I don't care what everyone says, that album was the shit!! SMI²LE
-
"too much disposable DJ fodder being released these days; music that isn't really good months after its release " I couldn't have said it better myself!! I remember that I'd listen to the AP - Dancing Galaxy album for YEARS and still like it!! Today I get bored of a track in about a week, and it has to be a good track!! Indeed it's all for the dancefloor but since we all know that not much money is to be made from the scene especially with the MP3 thing going on, I can't really blame psy artists for not spending that much time concieving a track... SMI²LE

I saw Sven Vath DJ a few years ago but it was Detroit techno all the way so I guess he already changed his style by then... He even played Mr. Oizo - Flat Beat at the end of his set!! SMI²LE

well, I don't share Jalliuz' enthuisasm for this one... probably cause he's a DJ and I'm a home listener... So you've guessed it, this one's yet another dancefloor-oriented release that'll rock the parties but not very rewarding for listening at home IMO. My main complaint is that tracks don't really have a climax, they just go on and on. Sure it's full-on and it brings some pretty innovative ideas but... something's mising IMO. My fave track is Return. 7/10 (for home listening) BTW if you've always wondered what USTA stands for it's "Underground Sound of Tel Aviv" :-)
-
yeah this is good but they seem to choose the EXACT same synth presets and formula over and over again!! It actually feels more like you're listening to 10 different remixes of the same track than 10 actual different tracks... Which will make it become boring fast in spite of it sounding good on the first few listens. Something else I don't like about this one is that the climaxes aren't powerfull enough IMO. When the track is over you're left feeling that there's something mising, especially in Genetic Engeneers!!! God that track would've been a KILLER if they handled the climax well, but they don't, which makes it just a "good" track... Best picks: Genetic Engeneers and Life Game 7/10

Tara in Project - Trance n tallica on Chakradelic Records should definately be on your list then!! They take the whole guitars and psy concept to a new level IMO!! SMI²LE
-
I highly doubt that there is an X-Dream track out there with a sampled poem... The only psy track I know with a sampled poem in it is Kopfuss Resonator - The Raven, but that one's by Edgar Alan Poe... SMI²LE

IMO you really have to be in the right mood to like Fractal Glider... Personally I found that the tracks here simply had too much sounds thrown in my face. I mean, lotsa layers are a good thing as long as they're made with thought, but this is not the case here. I'm getting the impression that Fractal simply added sounds just so it could be said that his music is full-on. The only track I really like here is the remix from Mezmorized which is even better than the original IMO!! As for the rest.. I guess they have their value on the dancefloor but for home listeing I don't really like... 5/10

V/A - Intelligence Artist: Various Title: Intelligence Label: Shiva Space Japan Date: 2003 Track listing: 01. Shiva : Good Time 02. Psychonaut : Mohrensaft 03. Wrecked Machines : 1 October 04. Panick : Ultramagnus 05. Drapdrop : Puzzle 06. Pixel : 800 To 400 07. Kuro : Noop 08. Cosmo Chaos : Artificial Influence 09. Shamane : Maniac Review: I don't know why, but somehow the name "Intelligence" and the mandala on the cover made me think that this had something to do with oldschool. Well, it doesn't. It's minimal all the way, like I guess one should expect from Shiva Space records... And since I'm not a big minimal fan, I won't start criticizing this and ruin it for minimal fans. That said, there are a few tracks here that I actually like when I'm my "minimal mood": track 2 which is "morningish"; it has a nice atmosphere to it. Track 8, Artificial Intelligence is IMO the best recent minimal release around 5:45 you have these awesome swirling sounds which are really crazy!! And track 9 isn't bad either, it has a "spiritual" feeling to it, probably because they use a very known flute sample which you usually get in movies on native americans and/ or buddhism (you'll know what I'm talking about when you here the track). So with 3 tracks I like I guess this makes one of the best minimal compils I have :-)!!

I liked it... but I found it got old very fast... BTW the genre is called "morning trance"!! SMI²LE

about 90% sure I'll be there!! Mars, this time I promise I'll come up and say hi !! SMI²LE
