    X-Dream - Radio

Hmmm...so here are the minimalist masters, the guys who started it all. A few months ago I would've personally shot these guys for killing the whole goa scene, but minimalstic psy eventually grew on me, like it had on so many people out there... Well, some of is good, but I couldn't possibly listen to the whole album at once, because it's always the same!! Still, Freak is very good, and there's another one I like, with some frog samples, but I forget which one it is. The best minimal album I've listened to so far, so I'll give it 8/10 for that.
  2. Well, it sounded great when I first listened to it and it is for me the best 2001 release so far, but the thing with this sort of "classical" goa using typical sounds is that ot gets boring fast... Some more wierdness and/or unusual sounds, please! Still, there is an exception to the rule: ROM. Superb! And the Prologue is not really psy, but I love it too. Still, 9/10 for being the best release of 2001 so far!
  3. If you're mostly into oldschool like me, you'll give it a pass... If you listen to the 1st song, you'll know the whole album... 5/10

    Cosmosis - Cosmology

Cosmosis is one of those artists who don't really bring something innovative to goatrance, but use "typical" goa sounds and element to make one excellent album!! All the songs are good, but Gift of Gods rocks!! 9/10

    Cosmosis - Synergy

Pretty much of the same stuff. If you heard Cosmology, this will sound VERY familiar. But why change a winning formula? 7/10 Still great, but I would have appreciated it more if the guy innovated a little...
  6. Yes yes, this is great, but why did Etnica change their style through the years to become some shitty minimal psy? 9/10 for this one... 3/10 for the other Etnica releases...
  7. Goa and feelings rarely mix together... this album is one of these rare moments... I love all the songs, especially Jajo, but what does X-Wave have to do with this album??? OK, so it's a collaboration with "masters" X-Dream, so what? It's horrible! You have a good gabber-inspired synth line, but once you hear it contantly for almost 9 minutes, it's just plane boring... But 8 out of 9 very good tracks is not that bad... Remains one of my top albums: 8/10
  8. Well, one thing's for sure: Pleiedians style has evolved... but not in the way I would have liked it to... The melodies are a lot more subtile and repetitive than IFO. No more feeling like a hurricane is going over your head with this one... unless you have a 500W speaker system. I guess a lot of guys out there do have one, that's why they like it. I don't. 4/10 for some effort in the more ambient tracks.
  9. Hmmm, at first I didn't really like this album, except for Peaceful Relaxation, so I put it in a drawer for a few years... But now I listened to it again and I find it's great!!! I don't know, maybe my tastes evolved or maybe this just seems good in comparison with what's out lately... But I find it's a killer album. Peaceful Relaxation is still my favourite, but now I like The waking mind, very psychedellic and full on, and Born Into a New Life reminds me of the acid house scene some years ago. Great album!!!
