well that's the thing, I used to dismiss it as some outdated hardcore as well but it seems that pretty much like psytrance this scene is in some sort of bubble where it just keeps developing among people who know it, even though most outsiders don't even know it exists. This one from 2007:

Hey there, Everytime I go to a big festival I always notice a group of people who stand out of the crowd (mostly from France, but not only). It's like they come there but don't really care about psytrance, they play some sort of hybrid acid core with some breakbeat influences, most of it is very raw and basic but you can have a lot of fun with it given the right circumstances. I never really knew how to get into the scene, nor what the hell was the scene called in the first place, until only very recently I was explained it is called "tekno" (willingly spelled differently than "techno" to show the difference), and that this sound basically only lives in squat parties and is a heritage from the Spiral Tribe movement. I've always tried to track down some cool tracks but never really seem to be able to find those that really did it for me at festivals. hehe this is making a buzz recently, orignated by this (TRUE!) story

Just came home from a party this morning, feeling a little blue cause the summer is already ending and I have to go back to my "real" life, and just remembered that I haven't listened to this in ages: IMO it's still today the perfect track for coming down, I cannot count how many times I've cried on it... So what would your picks be?

meh, I think the dude just made different protraits, I don't see much of a connection with the drugs used, like for example the nitrous oxyde high lasts only a few seconds, I don't see how he could've had the time to make a portrait, on the other hand some drugs are so far out there that I doubt he would be able to focus enough to paint, let alone have the entire effect pass 24h later so he could take something else... Interesting concept but to me this particular case looks more like a publicity stunt than anything else...

hmm somehow I doubt that, of course there was open hostility towards the police, people would openly whistle and give them the finger, not to mention all the "fuck the police" signs written on the dust-covered cars, given the reaction of the crowd, the police action was actually very tame IMO. Since the cops were in full riot gear, they looked intimidating indeed but they could've gone MUCH further like have some cops dressed in civilians ask around for drugs and later arresting the drug sellers, I suppose like half the Ozora participants could've gotten arrested that way. They didn't even use sniffer dogs... This way, only the really big (and stupid) dealers got busted so IMO we shouldn't complain too much. I think many more people got problems crossing the border out of Hungary than at the festival itself... The boarder police asked me "Are you coming from Ozora?" and I'm like "Huh, Ozora, what's that?", I had half a gram of K on me and he just let me pass hehehehe

well actually I just heard him play live at Lost Theory and it was CRAP!!! The new stuff sounded like some very uninsteresting flat progressive, no melodies whatsoever. Simon P himself seemed bored with it, barely smiled and was happy to get out of there once his set was finished. If he actually releases his new material then most fans will be dissapointed IMO...

so out of nowhere comes Cosmosis, picks up a guitar and starts jamming with 2 other guys on the chill-out stage I have no idea who they are, but the music was GREAT! I asked around and noone seems to know what the project name was! Does anyone have an idea??

Yep, I've been there and seen it happen with my own eyes... First of all, people were actually putting big signs with "We sell drugs" on their cars, I mean how stupid could you be, OF COURSE the cops are gonna come if you do this!!! This is an actual pic that I took at the party: Second of all, they didn't arrest small dealers but memebers of a big international drug cartel that already escaped arrest once... Believe me, after the cops were gone there were still plenty of drugs around, just that people were (FINALLY) more discreet about it. So for me, those people bought it on themselves, I'm not gonna comment on drugs at festivals cause after all as long as you'll have parties you'll also have plenty of illegal substances going around but how stupid can you be to put a big "we sell drugs" sign, especially when you know that the cops are after you and not expect to get arrested???

mate, put up a travel request on the lost theory forum or goabase.de, there are SHITLOADS of people asking for a ride!! Especially if you go through Germany... I had a similar story, none of my "usual" friends could go so I just put a travel request and now I'll be going with 3 beautiful girls, and they pay to share the fuel costs, life is good

Well, my company just refused my request for holidays until after 2nd august to I guess that means bye-bye Boom... The one that temps me most is Lost Theory but then again, it's not too far off from Ozora so thinking of combining both. On the other hand, that would make like 2 weeks of almost continuous festivals, it can be a bit too much...

hmm well I'm no marine biologist but those dimensions would seem to fit the pic, I guess it all depends on exactly how far the diver was from the jellyfish when the picture was taken. Still, photoshop or not it's pretty impressive IMO

yeah it's probably to compensate the effect of all those sleeping pills lol ah, sorry I didn't know that guess news gets slowly all the way to Belgium lol
