1. Timeless 2. Different Story 3. Made in Japan 4. It's too far 5. Abu Gosh 6. Plastic 7. Extra Worm 8. Duduk 9. Cold Sun 10. Daydream 11. Clone 12. Days Pretty interesting full-on with a twist. I mean it's still on the commercial side of things, yet the tracks have a different feel compared to the "standard" full-on tracks that are all over our scene. It is very melodic, bordering eurotrance at times and yet I still quite enjoy it Timeless is the intro downtempo track with some nice oriental guitars and voice samples which give you a good idea of how the rest of the album is going to be. Too bad it lasts less than 4 minutes. Different Story picks up with the same guitar sounds but a more uptempo beat and some catchy melodies. Made In Japan starts with a... japan-ish melody and some nice pads on top and more interestingly some melodies around 5:00 reminded me of the classic The Muses Rapt - Spiritual Healing (maaan, it's been a while since I haven't listened to that). It's Too Far up next with some more conventional full-on... Abu Gosh starts up pretty generic... but then there's a guitar melody and a flute melody and djembés on top that are REALLY catchy, it got me nodding my head with a smile, very nice! Plastic up next which has some reminiscences of oldschool Infected Mushroom and California Sunshine blended in there Extra Worm has some more oriental melodies, a bit too much at times, yet at others there's a nice arpeggio that complements it, sometimes it reminds me of bit of Robert Miles (in a good way) Duduk up next with still some more oriental guitars and then some feel-good melodies, again on the commercial side of things but in a good way Cold Sun has a nice rockish (non-oriental this time lol) guitar melody, it starts pretty promissing but then it becomes quite generic Daydream has another catchy guitar melody but this time seconded by a piano, again this one too starts off pretty nice but kindof falls short from the middle. Still, it has some very good moments. Clone comes back into downtempo territory, it sounds a bit like movie music, too bad it only lasts 2:40 Days goes back in uptempo mode with quite a lot of singing which I don't really like... Conclusion: hmmm well I find it quite hard to grade this one. On one hand compared to the army of full-on clones out there, it stands out as very original. On the other, it still remains in commercial territory, even going as far as dreamtrance yet somehow it the end it sounds out pretty good. That said, even if I enjoy listening to this while driving in a sunny day, nothing really grabs me by the balls so to speak, something that would make me think "fuck THIS is great!!". So I'll give this a 3,5 /5, keeping in mind that my appreciation of this album varies greatly from one day to the other.

01 - Audiosex - Un Sane 02 - Alien Trancesistor & Electryxeed - Thank U Byron Bay 03 - Pan Psychic - Square Cutz 04 - RDM - Dive Into The Unknown 05 - aGh0Ri TanTriK - Raakchass 06 - Space Shaman - Mental Hospital 07 - Fearkiller - Lou 08 - KanibaL HolokausT - Rokee Meets Hishiryo 09 - Gamaliel - Canibalismo Entre Amigos 10 - The Exmos (M.M.C. & Xaos) - Burato 11 - Mergel - No IQ 12 - Audiopathik & Xikwri Neyrra - Ancient Times 13 - Audiosex - Astral Body Builder Woah man, just look at that cover and tracknames... I bet that if you play this really loud at midnight on a full moon you'll wake up Satan himself! But on a more serious level though, it seems that there is a sub-genre of dark psy with artists that are more concerned with finding cool and evil-sounding names than making the tracks themselves. I think that aGh0Ri TanTriK spends more time choosing the caps arrangement of his name than his track production. I've given this one a few tries and no tracks really stand out (although I would've really liked to appreciate Canibalismo Entre Amigos just so I could write the cool trackname lol). OK, if you'd point a gun at my head and forced me to pick one track I'd go for Ancient Times which has its moments. And the last track Astral Body Builder deserves to be listened to as a joke IMO, it is 200+ BPMs and sounds like you're fast-forwarding through a "normal" dark psy track lol Granted I'm not the biggest dark psy fan out there but still I do like some tracks when they are well made. Sadly, it is not the case here... 2/5

I like Arcas a LOT, there is a very original melody in there, I'd say it sounds like some crossblend between South African full-on and goatrance, really cool IMO Kosmodrom up next which is the stormer track in here. I like it but it's not as good as Arcas IMO, I can't quite put my finger on it but something is missing here Then comes the re-re-remix of JM Jarre's Oxygene. Now I don't know why but it seems like every few years there is some "chosen" track that is remixed to death by the psy scene, I really wish they'd stop doing that, I mean ONE psy remix is enough, no need to have several going around. So if you want a nice psy remix of Oxygene, go for Astral Projection's version, nothing beats the masters

hmmm sorry to break the chain of positive reviews but it's not that good IMO... The first 4 tracks are generic neo-goa which seems to be the norm these days. Tropical Sunset is the downtempo track which for some reason is placed in the middle... anyway this is the best track here IMO and even this one is just good, not great. Mysterious Fantasy is a good uptempo track here with some nice acid riffs but again, it is good but not great. Beyond Lightspeed sounds like it was done by Filteria and personally I've found that Filteria's bag of tricks has run out a long long time ago so I'll give this a pass... Close Encounteraaaah FINALLY this one is more my cup of tea! VERY nice catchy melodies, this one also sounds like Filteria lent a helping hand or something, with the notable difference that the arpeggios do NOT sound random Delirium is also a very nice catchy track. So in conclusion, the downtempo track and the last 2 tracks are very nice, otherwise nothing that really stands out of the "normal" Suntrip style... 3/5

woah, very wise words, thanks man (or thanks to myself according to the text lol).

never have been a great Holdium fan cause I simply found his music too boring and "empty", however now his style has taken a turn towards twilight which is pretty good IMO. My faves are Alice Dream and Ridge A which both have some very nice dreamy morning melodies, just the kind of music I'd listen to when driving back home in the morning after a party. That said, the other tracks are pretty medoicre IMO 3/5

1. Ticon - The Programmer 05:58 2. Ticon - The Programmer (Spektre Remix) 07:26 Not a big fan of Ticon or Iboga in general BUT the Spektre Remix is one very cool techtrance track, there are some nice dark pads and a very heavy bass driving the song as well as a little djembé that gives it all a bit of a tribal feeling, it doesn't have much to do with the original version, which is a good thing IMO 3/5

1. Memories Maze (Kadasarva remix) 6:48 2. Memories Maze (Psyfactor remix) 10:18 3. Memories Maze (Tentura remix) 6:22 4. Memories Maze (Khetzal remix) 7:51 5. Memories Maze (Overdream remix) 7:45 6. Memories Maze (Terra Nine Remix) 8:11 7. Memories Maze (Astropilot's special remix) 8:31 8. Here and Now (N.A.S.A. voiceless Remix) 8:02 Pretty hard to judge this one since it's basically the same track remixed over and over again... My faves are the Psyfactor mix which is a very nice electro version of the track. And for 4/4 kicks my pick goes to the Tentura mix which is has some very nice arpeggios who complete the main melody pretty nicely. That said, the Khetzal version is also pretty good. Then there is a very nice chill-out version made by Terra Nine which gives more space to that lovely oriental sample. The funny part is that the only track that is NOT a Memories Maze remix comes out as the weakest here... I know it seems a bit odd to have 7 different mixes of the same track but there practically all good and each have a distinct interpretation of the original, I'd say it is worth it 3,5/5

1-Domestic & Insomnia - Raal 2-Domestic & Pixel & GMS - All Nighty 3-Domestic & Pixel - Deep & Down WOAH this is definately the most suprising release I've heard this year! Now, by seeing the names involved you'd probably expect some cheezy morning full-on but in fact this is (old) The Delta-style techtrance. I sure wasn't expecting that... and since this kind of music is basically extinct (not even The Delta themselves don't do it anymore ) it will sound pretty original compared to other stuff around. All 3 tracks have a similar dark mechanical vibe, even the one involving GMS, if you miss Send In Send Back you'll really love this EP. 4/5

1. Reminiscence 2. Multistop (Digital Tribe vs Outsiders rmx) 3. Under My Feat (Digital Tribe vs Bleep rmx) 4. Fell The Vibe (Digital Tribe rmx) 5. Drop the bass (Album Version) 6. Massive Attack 7. Free Your Mind (Super Sonic rmx) 8. Anyones Dream (Tertium rmx) 9. The Truth 10. Activated OK, long story short, this is yet another album filled with full-on dancefloor generic material that will be old in a few months. BUT there is one track that's totally worth it IMO, The Truth. It starts off pretty generic but then starting from min 4:00 there is a nice sounding break-up and then around 5:00 some of the best melodies I've heard all year kicks in, it is really divine. Yes, there are vocoders in there but it all works out pretty well. Proof that cheezy commercial doesn't always have to be bad Won't bother describing the other tracks since they bore me out of my skull but The Truth is really worth giving it a shot. 3/5 from me

1. MASSIVE VS 220V - Ibiza Osaka (Cycle Sphere Rmx) 2. XSI - Once Again 3. 1200 MICROGRAMS Klingon (Massive Rmx) 4. SHANTI - Electronic Sympathies 5. KROMEANGELS - Kriskros Rhythms (Deedrah 2010 Rmx) 6. BAMBOO FOREST VS MASSIVE - A Life 7. MASSIVE - Not An Angel (Cpu Remake) 8. DISTRICT 42 - Opalized 9. CREACTIVE - Low Crossing Phantasm records is yet another one of those labels who were in the goa scene from day 1 and decided to use the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" formula. So no, do not expect any oldschool revival movement here, this is 100% pure commercial modern full-on Anyway, I bought it cause I wanted to have a feeling of the scene these days and well, I couldn't really say that anything has changed in the last few years IMO. Ibiza Osaka is a full-on remix of Sander Kleinenberg - This Is Not Miami and a bad remix at that... XSI up next with yet another remix of Kernkraft 400 - Zombie Nation... ok guys like how many full-on remixes of that track do we need?? A remix of 1200 Mics - Klingon up next which is one of the best tracks on this comp IMO except that I don't really hear the remix in here, it's like 95% the original track, which is not really a bad thing since I really like the original Shanti is back (not that many people missed him I guess...) with a nice tune but nothing really groundbreaking Krome Angels up next with yet some more generic full-on... I won't even begin to mention how dissapointed I am by this one considering that Deedrah and Dino Psaras were involved. Bamboo Forest up next with one of the more original tracks here, it has a bit of a dark atmosphere, not bad at all Massive up next with a remix by CPU, which also joined the generic full-on badwagon apparently, this one sounds like a crossover between full-on and Beni Benassi... ok, I guess that in the morning hours at a party when you're completely stoked this could have its merrit nonetheless, otherwise I'd give it a pass. District 42 up next with one of the better tracks on this comp, I guite enjoy this one And the closer by Creactive, a fresh artist in the scene trying out some new ideas although the end result is good, but not great. Still, I'd like to check out some more of his stuff. Conclusion full-on as generic as it gets... OK, depending on the circumstances you listen to it, it might make you nod your head every now and then but otherwise nothing really worthwhile here. 2/5

01. Spectrum — Diamond Throw [7:34] 02. Ion Vader — Tydirium [7:55] 03. Asinar — Electron [5:34] 04. Sanga — Ba Laila [7:00] 05. Somnium — Tantibus [6:36] 06. Beloved — Musiqa [6:24] 07. Voodoo Tribe — Creatures of The Night [8:23] 08. Magic Mizrahi — Give It [6:45] 09. Zodiac — Ybab Eht Llik [8:00] 10. Et.Ma — God's Silence [8:40] Greek Nitzhonot lives again!! Hmm I guess many of you are frowning by now and wondering whether this particular style is worth reviving in the first place (and in case you're relatively new to the scene and wondering "nit-ho-what?", I'll explain that basically nitzhonot was to goatrance in the 90s what full-on is to psytrance today...). Well IMO it is worth giving the style a second life since I have to admit that once all is said and done, and once you shovel through the pile of crap there is one or other golden nugget in there with some VERY original melodies like Cyan - A New Galaxy or Psychonauts - Shadows Of The Moon. So anyway, fast-forward a few years later and let's see what we have here. Well on first check all these are fresh artists, so nothing to do with older Shiva Space Technology comps and as you can see it is released on a different (free) label anyway, so I don't really know why they present this comp as a continuation of the former volumes. The opener by Spectrum is a nice warmer, not too far away from "proper" neogoa territory although there's nothing really ear-catching IMO, just a good tune Then comes Ion Vader... man, how can anyone NOT be impressed by such a name? lol Sadly though the track is far less impressive than the name, there are some interesting ideas in there but way too commercial for my tastes. Asinar up next with a nice feel good track on the lighter side of things, even a bit of an 80s vibe in there but a nice listen IMO. Sanga up next with a very... greek track. The main melody is heavily inspired by traditional greek music, and not particularly good. Somnium up next trying a style of dark(er) nitzhonot (of course, you shouldn't except anything that sounds even remotely like dark psy in here), just a few darkish melodies and pads in the first part. Actually, once those are over a pretty nice melody kicks in around 2:00, this is one of the best tracks on this comp. Beloved up next which starts pretty promissing... but then goes way too far in commercial territory which is a shame cause some melodies in there are pretty darn good. It's as if the artist couldn't make up his mind wether he wanted a "serious" track or a commercial one. Voodoo Tribe with some more darker vibes but nothing particularly mindblowing either Magic Mizrahi comes closest to the old greek nitzhonot sound IMO, which I don't really like BTW and just when you're getting fed up from listening to average tracks and are more and more tempted to press that stop button it comes: Zodiac delivers us some VERY nice tunes! That little melody around 2:00 stayed in my mind for days and days and put a great big smile on my face which is more than I could say for about 99% psytrance being produced these days. Of course, it is still in commercial territory but commercial in a good way IMO, this one is definately worth checking out IMO. Et.Ma comes next with some more darkish melodies that actually border on some classical music compositions, pretty interesting but a bit of a letdown after that great Zodiac track. Conclusion OK this is clearly advertized as nitzhonot so be warned: you WILL find an overwhelming amount of cheezy melodies that are clearly aimed at (very) young teens. Personally I'd give it a pass if it weren't for that great Zodiac track that makes getting this comp totally worthwhile (and after all it's free anyway lol). 3/5 from me

reviving this thread cause I've discovered some pretty cool new releases http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTb7CaR645U

hmmm I must say I'm impressed by this one, it's like 90% psytrance, with the screaming 303 lines and all... what do you people think? Pretty good IMO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyrM1m2ejkA

yet another great artist that doesn't have a label. Well I've acutally been familiar with Cybernetika for a while now, I think my first encounter with him was around 2007 and an absolute killer dark psy track called "2653" wich is still in my fave dark psy tunes of all times list. That said, knowing the guy and his style I was bit suprised to see that, although still dark his music is has taken a turn to more lighter teritories. Standouts for me are Lost Technology, Tyrannis (!!!) and the closing breakbeat track Calling Mercurio. BTW in case you didn't know it, this guy makes some of the best breakbeat psy out there! However, the other tracks didn't quite do it for me, hence only 3,5/5 from me...
-
pretty uneven album IMO... the first 6 tracks are completely worthless IMO, very random and nothing particulary involving. BUT then comes No with a really funny voice sample going E-E-E-EEEE-E for some reason that remained stuck in my head for a few days lol and overall the track is the best on the album. Then come the 2 collaborations with Alienapia which I presonally consider to be the new gods of psytrance. Hmmm well... the tracks are good but I was kindof expecting more. So overall I'd say this isn't worth more than 2/5... interesting but you won't be missing much if you give it a pass IMO

1 Monkey Hi Five 5:57 2 Goat Herder 5:42 3 Elephant Parade 7:32 4 Walking On Strings 8:27 5 Balls In A Slow 7:32 6 Henowei 5:37 7 The 5th Dementia 7:28 8 Chongo 6:28 9 Pistol Shrimp 6:02 10 Rolling Stone Gathers Dirt 7:07 Well it seems that the best releases today are free... I suppose it's because if there's no label, there also isn't the obligation of keeping to strict rules for a release which makes everything sound so generic these days. Anyway, long story short, I stumbled on this by complete chance and I just can't get enough of it!! Not all parts are good but all in all this is one of the best, fresh-sounding and most original downtempo albums in my collection! Monkey Hi Five is the warmer here, a nice melody but nothing really special, it just sets up the atmosphere for the upcoming tracks. And then it comes, that spanish guitar melody that kicks in Goat Herder is AMAZING! I just found myself pressing the repeat button over and over, then some wierd oriental voices come in and the last part is made of an odd violin melody. The first listen will make you think WTF but the more you listen to it the more all the different parts start making sense Elephant Parade up next with some nice pads and then another catchy tune kicks in, this time on the oriental side of things. Man, these guys really know to make catchy melodies, and then some nice arpegios complete nicely the last part, reminded me a bit of some new Shpongle. Walking On Strings is on the more commercial side of things, but in a good way IMO, again a VERY catchy string melody kicks in around 3:30, I could just close my eyes and imagine myself sipping a cocktail on a sunny beach somewhere, then a beautiful violin melody completes the strings, one word: beautiful! Balls of Snow is a bit of a letdown after this succession of great songs, I tend to skip this one... Henowei up next with a mysterious oriental vibe, nice but no catchy melody here The 5th Dementia takes us to more darker territories at some moments it actually makes you feel a bit uneasy, not exactly my cup of tea but an interesting listen. Chongo up next continuing the disturbing vibe although I like this one more, there's a nice guitar melody in there completing the synth melodies, it all works out very well IMO. Pistol Shrimp up next with yet another really catchy oriental melody, I ended up pressing repeat all the time when listening to this one as well If I'd listen to a tune while driving through the destert this would certainly be the one Rolling Stone Gathers Dirt is the closer, which is a bit too wierd for me, I'd much rather press stop at the end of the previous song. So there you have it, another VERY underrated album available for free, I simply cannot understand how such great talents cannot find a record label. 4/5

so I guess that just about anyone who likes electronic music had a phase somewhere where he/she appreciated Depeche Mode... just randomly stumbled on some of their tracks lately and I'm impressed to see how good they still sound today. So what would your favorite be? here is mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDlQKhdo2eQ considering this was made in 1984 the production is AMAZING!!

hehe another classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vBn2_ia8zM&feature=player_embedded

lol you did? I quite liked the "Eyes Wide Shut" theme going on, too bad there weren't any naked chicks in there
