  1. dude makes all the sounds from a Michael Jackson song just by singing in multitrack acapella, pretty impressive result Let's ask him to do Hallucinogen - LSD next? lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BE9m-RK4ks
  2. YES!!!! Just when I thought that there weren't any new territories to be discovered in dubstep Benga comes and serves us something compltely different (PS it is NOT a remix of The Prodigy...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2aXxrbIeFI&feature=player_embedded#at=156 and in a completely different style but also 100% original IMO: http://www.youtube.com/user/littleyogi#p/c/B0AB44240613AF3F/5/UtcElMoviJk
  3. 1. Mi Dulce Nu 2. In Deepest 3. Fibonacci Progression 4. Esmeralda 2011 5. A journey with your angel 6. Increasing up to positive 7. In a digital world 8. Evolving natural forms 9. Dani's Guitar 10. A piece of the immensity 11. Pascua En Cadalso First off, let me start by saying that I am NOT a big fan of psychill, a part from a handfull of albums that I cherish I find most releases too uninspired and dull... And most tracks here follow the "Entheogenic-formula", which is good for having background music when relaxing but not really involving to the point of thinking "hey, I'll take an hour and listen to this album" IMO. That said, it is worth listening till the end of the album because the last track Pascua En Cadalso is AMAZING! A lot of Raja Ram-style flutes and Shpongle-like spanish guitars and even some Hallucinogen-like arpeggios near the end, BUT without the Shpongle-like random moments that make you go "WTF were they thinking?". So this track really flows from one end to the other, with enough going on to keep you focused and involved it's a real gem definately worth listening to. Dani's Guitar is another stand-out here, although not as good as complex as the last track it has a very nice mystical-mysterious vibe going on, I like this one a lot as well. In a Digital World is also a nice midtempo track, the kind you'd listen to in the car in the morning when coming home from a party. Nothing really special but a nice listen nonetheless... Other than that, the other tracks are pretty mediocre IMO and not really worth commenting IMO. 4/5 from me because of that last track.
  4. 1. In the hands of the shaman 2. Machine Elf 3. The future's right now 4. Live and Let Live 5. Who's Nutty 6. Geomatrix 7. Telepathic Contact 8. All you need is spirit and nothing 9. You can be Shiva 10. The Acid Test 11. All senses vibrating 12. Loopy Loo 13. Dance like nobody's watching 14. Twitch!! 15. 2000 O.D. 16. Live what u love 17. You create your own reality 18. What is conciousness With the regularity of objects orbiting in space, and just like Electric Universe, Space Tribe is serving us yet another album. Except that whereas both artists had similar "formulas" of putting a few gems surrounded by fillers to make a new album, lately they have parted their own ways with Electric Universe joining the full-on bandwagon whereas Space Tribe is turning back to his oldschool roots. Well, this time aound he decided to give us a comp with former releases, and considering his incredibly prolific career there was a LOT to choose from, hence the double-CD and which is only "vol.1" so there is understandably more to come. Now the thing with all these "remember the good ol' days" comps is that they are great for people who are new to the scene since they can just get the best of the best in one release without bothering to dig around to find the occasional gem. However with oldies like myself who have followed Space Tribe for year and years, chances are high you'll probably know all these tracks already so it will be of no real interest... The only track that I didn't already know was You Can Be Shiva which is oooold (think pre-goa old), and even though it's a nice listen from a historical point of view it's not really that good. That said, I'm greatful he only chose one track from his "singing period", You Create Your Own Reality which was his worst period IMO, he'd like ruin his tracks by singing on top of them. Thank God that period is over So if you're new to the scene and want to get a general view of Olli's past this is a great buy, otherwise I'd give it a pass...
  5. wooow thanks dude. It's precisely these types of computer graphics videos with goa playing in the backround that bought me in the scene when I was a teen! That sure brings back some memories And thanks for the other channels as well, I've found some nice gems in there
  6. how bout this? http://www.youtube.com/user/MazeBass1#p/u/42/rmHafM4B900
  7. LOL Trance2MoveU, your review was so funny that it made me want to get out of my hibernation and review some stuff again OK so this is the new Electric Universe, which just like just about every EU album since Paradise Connection has a handfull of great tracks surrounded by fillers. I mean, the man's been doing this for countless years now so I guess this can hardly come as a surprise. Also, I guess you'd have to have been living in a cave not to know that he changed his style from oldschool to full-on a few years ago. I know, I know, purists like myself will shake their fists in the air saying "NOOOOO!!! Not him!" pretty much like those old zombie movies where the main carachter just discovered that his best friend just turned a zombie as well. Anyway, so how does it sound? Well... remarkably good actually! I mean, once you get used to the idea that the oldschool years are over for him and start apreciating this album for what it is. Rockers and Rollers is by far my favorite track here and I am sorry but anyone saying that he ripped off Sun Project is forgetting that Boris made a name for himself with guitar trance in Meteor... So yes, it's a bit commercial but in a good way IMO, that guitar riff is pretty catchy and I for one am glad that we finally got something else than Meteor (*insert the year of your choice* remix). Lazerbass has some nice 303 lines, showing us that he still knows his roots Higher Mode is another stand-out, the tension-release is very energetic and I'm sure it will make many people go crazy on the dancefloors at festivals this summer. Other than that, I'm pretty unimpressed by the other tracks, but again, let's not forget this is Electric Universe here, having lots of fillers on an album is only normal when you release a new album every year for more than a decade... 3/5 from me
  8. ah touché OK, to be 100% accurate, they were both announced dead on 1st of May Anyway, you guys are right when you say that with 365 days a year coincidences are bound to happen
  9. trying to adapt to new technology here hehe So I'm realizing that the era of scrolling through forum reviews to find good picks is over, today it's all about keeping up to date with youtube feeds of new (and good) stuff... So, what are your picks?
  10. Well to be honest I'm not a big fan of downtempo psy, mostly because most of it is pretty formulaic and sounds like it can't quite decide between being dub or world music or ambient (with some notable exceptions of course). anyway, latley I've randomly stumbled on this gem, would like to know if there's anything else like it around? http://www.youtube.com/user/littleyogi#p/c/B0AB44240613AF3F/10/6eJPx1YfIxY
  11. OK, just read this on the net: Hitler was born 20 april 1889, and on 20 april 2010 the Gulf Oil Spill happened. Hitler was shot on 1st may 1945 and on 1st may 2011 Ben Laden was also shot. Wierd eh?
  12. fuck that's one fine track!! thanks for the link any more like it?
  13. guess which annoying tune I had in my head when I woke up this morning?
  14. HAHAHAHA excellent!!! I should try that sometime
  15. oh yeah some classics worth re-posting in this thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saCWi9MpVR8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Fwo62btnoM&feature=related
  16. OMG this must be the most embarassing situation ever... if this ever happens to me I swear I'd become gay lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnyKkA05nYw&feature=player_embedded#at=109
  17. umm no, it is precisely those kinds of childish melodies that put me OFF psy... but again, to each their own
  18. and while we're at it, I know this is in a completely different league but since we're mentioning good midtempo tracks I just have to mention one of my absolute faves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiPHSyDnzy4
  19. again, this is old (but post-2000 ) but you might like this then? http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxiI-ubSkBM
  20. well again, forgive me if I'm not that up to date with the newest releases (maaan I'm getting old!!) but I REALLY liked this one: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xzo3JuIhNA BTW I agree, I also regret the long-lost art of playing 45RPM records at 33
  21. yeah well the original IS eurotrance so I guess this explains that Also, I guess that's why it wasn't picked up on goa comps at the time. And then let's not forget that MWNN was always considered a bit borderline and not really goa by purists because of his connections with Paul Oaken$old and even worse, Sony  Still, I don't care, Teleport will forever be in my top 20 best tracks of all time
  22. lol that's what I was thinking, I was like "THIS is supposed to be the strongest??" but to each their own I guess
  23. seriously lacking on new releases but the one that I've heard recently (well, at least not too long ago lol) that totally blew my mind and made me feel like I was 16 again was this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBbg_hQoFv4 especially the part around 5:00 YES!!! and this one comes in second: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEThvuPxjMo especially around 6:00
  24. yep that's definately true... lucky for youtube you don't have to wait decades before randomly stumbling on such gems in some record basement anymore that said, I still prefer this version: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ljNDRkJ_7U
