Well blimey, I thought the name Secret Cinema rang a bell and then it finally hit me, they're the ones who made this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gtcH5evhHE&feature=player_embedded which was like one of the most played classics on the Belgian scene... ah well at least it's nice to see such an old project still making music even if it doesn't sound anything like it did back then And thanks for the recomendations, nice picks

on top of that big orange play button there's a little "download" button, just click on that

Comments from the man himself: "It's been called the worst track of the year on Isratrance forum, yet somehow this is the most requested track that I play. At the last parties in Russia and Ukraine, somebody would come up to me each 5 minutes with words "Neo Cheesy" written on a mobile phone screen. I thought I could just play that track, and go home :-) Who cares, if I have tons of unreleased tracks at the moment, right? Anyhow, I am giving this beast away. Written just in time for our honeymoon in Israel, this is a remix of the most popular Jewish folk harvest song. ... And it is available here in WAV quality. Also, follow me on SoundCloud if you want to receive these downloads earlier... Enjoy! Nikita" Gave it a try, it's not that bad actually [EDIT: oops stupid me, I forgot to put the link...] Penta - Neo Cheezy (Hava Nagila)

oh man, this feels like I'm a few years back and just got my hands on Send In Send Back... anyone else knows of such tracks? Cause "detroit techno" is a pretty broad genre and I find that this particular kind of tracks are pretty hard to get a hold on to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGWumD2PzZ4

Well schientific answers or not, the storytelling is AWESOME... that episode with Jacob and man in black as children, EPIC!! I actually stood speechless for 5 minutes after the end of the episode, pondering everything that just happened, that sure doesn't happen when you watch other series on tv (and I totally forgot about that Adam and Eve thing BTW)

ok, listening to the radio a few hours ago, I stumble on this PERFECT old trance track, and in spite my having heaps and heaps of old trance in my house for some reason I've never come across this one... what do you guys think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iROCE6Uh0w&feature=related Any other suggestions? (not necessarily trance...)

Walt is living with his grandparents in the US, and thinks that his dad died as a hero when coming back to the island, I don't think we'll see him again, unless it's a minor appearance in the last episode. But what I really want to know is... WHERE'S VINCENT???
-
goddamn all these questions in my head now... Was the well built at the same spot as the hatch used to be? Did Desmond really die? Is Michael an evil spirit or a good one? Why did Desmond run over Locke? I wish I had some device to accelerate time and see the next episode right now

yep I agree, Bar9 is my favorite dubstep artist too, and Shaolin Style was like my no. 1 dubstep track for many months Although with his latest EP he has turned to a more calmer side, it's still killer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndgJst4rZAE

hey that is one killer track, I've been listening to it nonstop since you've posted the link. Thanks for the info

Well things happened the way they happened originally because Jacob influenced the carachters' lives to get to that point (you could see that in the last episode of the 5th season, Jacob would give Sawyer a pen to write the letter when he was a kid etc). The alternate reality that we are seeing now (with Sawyer a cop and Ben a teacher etc) is how their lives would've unfolded if Jacob didn't influence their destinies (at least that's how I explain it )
-
well my biggest issue now is that there are only 6 episodes left and still a LOT of story to tell...
-
Ep 11 was mothafukin brilliant!!! I take back all I've said, Lindelof is a genious!!! This is all extremely thought provoking, and I guess anyone who's experienced altered states of consciousness can totally relate to it...
-
BWAHAHAHHA Best band name ever!!!!
-
hehe it's funny you guys mention that because when I played her psytrance she was like "ok, this would be good IF IT HAD SOME VOCALS IN IT"... I guess it's just a different way of percieving the music. didn't think about it but not that you mention it, it DOES sound pretty "Juno-ish", I guess we now know where he gets his inspiration from
-
OK so latley I've been hanging around with a goth, she's been asking me to show her the kind of music that I listen to and I've played her some psytrance and she was like "but this is goth without singing"... I was like WTF are you taking about??? Then she showed me some stuff, I must say I'm pretty impressed, what do you guys think? Know of anything else like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zsd5CMzpfys&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymTwKLrYps8

yep, I agree with what you are saying, somehow this just didn't look like Alice In Wonderland... I mean, ok it's Tim Burton so you'd expect it to be dark but still, at some parts it made me think more of Harry Potter than Alice, and yes the storyline was pretty linear whereas Alice In Wonderland should've been more like "wild" in some way.
-
So who has seen it yet? I have, and contrary to what some might believe, the overall atmosphere has NOTHING to do with the Alice of our childhood memories, it is very dark (well, it was directed by Tim Burton...) and some bits are almost like a horror movie, personally I don't quite understand how Disney agreed to release this... Oh yeah and Alice is HOT, there's this one scene where she's naked but we can't see much of her body

You guys obviously haven't seen Before Sunrise, which is like the exact same movie except the setting is in Vienna instead of Tokyo and it was made 8 years BEFORE Lost In translation... I'm not saying anything about Copolla's directing, just that this is proof that a concept can be completely ignored by the masses and then a rip-off can be critically acclaimed just because a famous Hollywood name knows how to pull the strings behind the curtains to get promoted in the right places.
-
Well blimey I didn't even know that Locke was a real person... what about Benjamin Linus? Anyway, what's this business about Jin drawing maps for the island? Where's this going to???
-
Nah man, Lost in Translation is a total rip-off of Before Sunrise, that movie would've been completely ignored by the masses if it wasn't directed by Francis Ford Coppola's daughter, it just shows you how Hollywood works. Anyway for me it has to be Forest Gump. That movie is so dense that I've seen it like 20 times and STILL get surprised by some little details that I didn't notice. And when you think that I refused to watch it for a few years simply because I supposed it was a commercial love movie. Now who's up for some shrimpin'?

The official WTF? track of the day topic
Lemmiwinks replied to Lemmiwinks's topic in Other Electronica
LOOOL like is there anyone alive who DIDN'T think they were fake? -
yes you are right amigo Aparently the actor is of Cuban origin. BTW it just hit me the other day: Richard Alpert was actually a real person, a teacher at Harvard during the psychedellic 60s, he even wrote books with Tim Leary. I wonder if the producers of Lost will make some parellel between the Lost Richard and the real one.
-
Well I don't know, it seemed logical to me for Richard to be Egyptian since he seemed to have egyptian traits, and it would've explained the latin and egyptian references, and of course, they had ship slaves on roman boats so that's not that much of a far strech (even though then one would have to explain the English name for the boat). Ah well, as long as the plot untangles and leads to a convincing end I'm happy
