hmmm a quick check on discogs shows that Blue Moon Productions are active since 1984?? Did anyone try out their older stuff? Any interesting pre-trance stuff in there or was it just a completely different style?
-
yes it qualifies... however my topic was about GOOD commercial trance
-
Ok I usually don't dwell into commercial territory but every now and then a cool tune pops on the radio and I like it. So what would your latest discoveries be? Here is mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-Z3YrHJ1sU I like it so much that the accordeon tune is currently my ringtone

so with the year slowly coming to an end, what would you guys proclaim to be the best dubstep track of 2009? For me it's definately: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6UO1qaIYPM

ha ok if you put it that way then I agree Still, you'd have to agree that the horror element is stronger here than in any one of his former movies...
-
yes, "modern" Hollywood horror is supposed to make you feel that way, but noone says that horror has to keep by those standards. And even if you go back to the 70s with movies like Canibal Holocaust and such, you'll see that even Holywood went through a much more demented-gory phase than what it is now. ha well that's one of Von Trier's trademarks, isn't it? It leaves the questions put in the movie open and subject to interpretation. But yeah, I think that a title like The Witch would've been MUCH more apropriate, on the other hand, that's also one of the charms of the movie: you don't expect the development in the second half at ALL. For the graphic scenes well... it's Von Tirer man, he always likes to cross that line between what's acceptable in "normal" cinema and what's not (like that scene from Dogville when they first shoot the baby and then the mom, man Hollywood would never touch that with a 10-foot pole) Well, just like everything Von Trier does, there are some bits that are pure genious, but others where you think "WTF??". Overall I liked it, but I also found it lacked a bit of substance, like the tension mounted near the end but the conclusions were almost always dissapointing. IMO he could've explored the "doors" in the plot he opened a lot more than he did. Like Stig's gf wanted to shoot him at the end of the 1st series but then she becomes normal again in the 2nd? and they dropped off the whole Haiti thing in the 2nd as well, or that secret society thing that never really explained anything...

So I suppose that with all the Lars Von Trier fans on this site, you have heard that he has made a new movie called Antichrist? Well you know, with Von Trier most movies have a horror aspect in them so you can imagine that when he decides to make a movie that's actually labeled as horror it will be something... I've seen it yesterday and it totally blew me away! Of course, you should throw away everything you know (or would expect) from a conventional horror movie, this one is just plain sick. You know when you're on acid and feel like you've crossed the line between a sweet little demented high and mental-hospital like dementia? Well that's EXACTLY how watching this movie feels like. I can't say that I like all of it, like with everything Von Trier does, there are always some bits that are just too wierd in there but overall this is definately one to watch (if you have the courage of course...)

well yes most of the time everyone plays de "top 10 tracks of the month" and then discard them and move on (unless it's an oldschool set, I'm glad that there's still an oldschool culture in these parts of the World ). The crazy thing is that most party goers are of the new generation so it's not even as if they'd get bored with an old tune cause chances are high that they are so new to the scene they haven't heard it before. I remember having been to a party a month ago, the DJ played Chi AD - Eye Am the I and it still ripped the dancefloor apart, even after all these years! I bet most people at the party were wondering where they could get their hands on that unreleased killa track, little did they know that it was made a decade ago and is widely available...

Ha Cookie Monsta is definately my fave artist of the moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxgLlJw7afw
-
how bout this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MuXhD1g7rM&feature=related COOKIE!!! lol
-
ah darn, how can you let such a masterpiece unreleased? ah great, I'll definately try to track it down. YOU ROCK!!!
-
HAHAHA now I finally know the meaning of your signature!! BTW for that 2nd part, I think we've ALL been there when first discovering the scene. These days it seems to be the other way round: you look like a total dork if you wear anything else than black

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a huge moment in psytrance history: the birth of PSYstep!!!! Great find Darkarbiter, I definately hope to hear more tracks like this I haven't felt so excited about a track since the mid 90s!!!
-
tried Ocelot, Quasar and Tutankhamon 9000 but it's not the same feeling at all BTW while we're at it, I've had this track on my harddrive for a while: Psyfactor - Unreleased Track no. 5... does anyone care to ID it? I have it since 2004 so I suppose it has been released since. Also a "morning daskpsy" track (minute 6:00 is KILAAGHH!)... funny cause back then I thought that all darkpsy would sound like this in a few years since it's a lot more catchy than "normal" darkpsy but I guess that the trend never really caught on http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLq45lMBLVk

a while ago there was something that I called "morning darkpsy" which took the best of both worlds: fast-paced rolling bassline AND killer catchy morning melodies, like Psyfactor - Fear Square (OMG how can such a great track not be on youtube??? I'll upload a copy): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tmmv948XDo I don't know if there are enough such tunes out there to call it a subgenre in itself but it would be BY FAR my best dark psy style. (BTW if you know of more such tunes please recommend them to me! ) Other than that, I prefer darkpsy where they play a lot with atmospheres, like G.O.E. but I HATE that all too easy method of throwing random screechy sounds on top of a rolling bassline!!! (insert most darkpsy artists here...)
-
hahaha you sukkaz, it's all about GOREstep now, dubstep is soooo 2008 BIATCH!!!!
-
hmm I get what you're saying here... but I also disagree a little. The thing is that although wherever you'd go and whatever you'd do you'll always stumble on a bunch of arrogant assholes, I must admit that the proportion of assholes in the psy scene is still MUCH lower compared to other scenes (try going to an R&B party for example...)
-
hehe well it would be cool if it actually were like that. If psytrance became a religion then I'd definately become a member!! BTW think of all the advantages this would give us: we could make taking psychedellic substances during parties legal under the pretense that it is part of our ritual
-
hey for like a week now this kept bugging me: all the dubstep tracks reminded me a track I heard during my teens but couldn't put my finger on it. Then it came to me: the first dubstep track ever was... Mr Oizo - Flat Beat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kv6Ewqx3PMs
-
well I don't know if you know this already but IMO THEEEE best melodic psy track ever made is Chi ADs - Eye Am the Eye. Back in the days everyone used to know this track but with time I've found that newer generations never heard of it which is a real shame IMO. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGBK2NHprek&feature=PlayList&p=59985C5A8653382F&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=17 and Chi AD's Biocandy comes in second close: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKNvL3L_XLU
-
meh since I was in huge admiration in front of the 2008 mix I was expecting the second coming... however after the 1st hour it turns into pure d&b which is pretty dissapointing Not saying it's all bad though
-
well it seems this guy knows how http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoAlWDVe2hw&feature=related this chick has some pretty cool moves as well http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=aq7JR-xEmHA&feature=related

BTW does anyone know how the hell does one dance to this??
