  1. quite on the contrary, I think it's best like this for people to remember him as he was during the glory days rather than how he was now...
  2. ah but that's quickly forget the upcoming hoard of shitty MJ remixes that will be hitting our radiostations soon... Anyway, before all this commercial/ uncommercial music split thing I must say that I found his stuff quite innovative. I mean, just think of the mere concept of making a "scary" pop title like Thriller, it might seem plain as day now but it was extremely innovative at the time. And let's not forget that the instrumental part of Billie Jean was played by the likes of Goa Gill at Goa parties before trance music was made. Yes RIP MJ, although when you think of it, sudden unexpected death is how most superstars go (Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon,...)
  3. I've listened to a few 2009 releases at the beginning of the year and after a few weeks/months they ALL got old (even the mighty Merrow). So I was wondering, what other interesting psy is out there? (for the record, my main interest is melodic psy, be it full-on or goa, and I also have a soft spot for dark psy).
  4. The Green Mile because of the little mouse... that last scene where they find the mouse was so touching it made me cry (which is something I VERY rarely do). Also the story was a lot more original and impressive than Shawshank, it had a lot more staying power.
  5. lol you guys really like hyping up stuff... I found THX1138 incredibly boring, I had a hard time watching it till the end, I just kept at it because I was hoping for some incredible ending that would compensate for all the boredom but the ending was just as stupid/ boring as the rest of the movie... ah well you see I've done a bit of background checking on Blueberry and it turns out that it's based on a comic book series, so all the main carachters are taken from there, which says a LOT on if the storyline was specially made to lead to the ayahuasca experience or if the ayahuasca experience was "forced" on the story...
  6. hum well I didn't see the other guy as dead, I thought that he was just lying on the ground because he was tripping some more. I also figured out that we just THOUGHT he was the bad guy but in reality he was anything but bad (he never killed anyone, not even animals or insects, he always was looking for the mountain for the spiritual journey and not for the gold, etc.). The true "bad guy" was the main carachter, at least that's how I saw it.
  7. oh you can find all the subs you want on http://www.opensubtitles.org, just make sure you chose the right version (1cd, 2cd, etc...) Indeed without any subs this is impossible to watch since there are many scenes spoken in indian (hopi?). well you see, normally whenever someone tells me that he saw a movie/ listened to a track under the influence I usually run away as fast as I can in the other direction... because ANYTHING you'll see/hear when under the influence will seem to hide some truth that you can only reveal when high. Even Sponge Bob. But anyway...
  8. meh just watched Blueberry and was a bit dissapointed... you people made it sound like the movie was entirely about ayahuasca experiences when in fact it was just a b-series cowboy movie with 2 ayahuasca scenes. Granted, the scenes were breathtaking but the movie as a whole kindof sucked IMO...
  9. Well I've always been intrigued by which was probably one of the very first trance tracks I've ever heard (initially released in 1993, still sounds fresh today IMO). The odd part is that after that there were like a million different projects who presented the same track as their own "creation": Lost Tribe - Game Master and . Anyone knows what the story behind this track? And why did so many people rip it off? I mean, the rip-offs were never presented as remixes of the original, but as completely new tracks, when they obviously weren't...
  10. hmm I'd be careful about actually watching a movie WHEN tripping, for me in that case stuff made for little kids works best, like the Teletubbies (and generally speaking, stuff that I wouldn't watch for more than 30 seconds when "normal" lol), but to each their own I guess
  11. ha indeed, personally when I'm tripping I can't focus for more than 5 minutes on something. However I think that he was refering to watching a movie the next day or 2 after taking acid, that's when it works best IMO.
  12. well it's about something different and made with different techniques indeed but maan, it's WAY off... the mere idea of becoming an ape (not THINKING that you're an ape, actually becoming one), and beyond that, going to the origins of the universe just by tripping is ridiculous. Anywone who's done acid in his life and/or has had regressive experiences will tell you that. It's like Knight Rider: it might seem plausible when you're a kid and don't know jack shit, but once you know how cars/ computers are made you realize it's WAY off.
  13. hehe it's not illegal for a group to change, as long as they make good stuff In this case, it is just bad IMO...
  14. lol you don't need to watch any other movie to know that Altered States is silly, ridiculous, amateurish, and pompous PS imdb's description: "In the 1870's, U.S Marshal Mike S. Blueberry tries to stop Wally Blount, the man who killed his girlfriend, from getting to a stockpile of gold hidden in Indian territory. On his way, he meets Prosit, a German villain on a persistent mission to find gold in the Superstition Mountains."... err, you sure this is about ayahuasca??
  15. lol yes I know but there aren't any english subs to the movie (that's what I meant when I said that I hoped that someone would translate it one day )
  16. OK this is a radical change in style, I actually thought it was another project with the same name, but after a check it turns out that this is THE Snap: so what do you guys think? IMO it's pretty so-so, especially since it has absolutely nothing to do with their old style... for the nostalgics (like myself ), there's also a 2008 version of with that "post-modern tektonik dance" touch and new added vocals (although I still prefer the original by far)
  17. well I guess it all boils down to the typical "is a human being innately good or innately bad" dilemma. I tend to think that a majority of human beings on this planet are innately bad, hence my reasoning, but of course I might be wrong, I guess we'll never really know
  18. well you see, a book that repeatedly spells "hindoo" instead of "hindu" kindof loses all cerdibility to me from the start... Now don't get me wrong, I never contested the fact that the Jesus "myth" has many pagan elements in it, just that the dude who made Zeitgeist had so many factual errors that it made me question the seriousness of his study and his intelectual integrity.
  19. hum... why is this called goa VINTAGE since most tracks were released recently? I know that things move fast in the electronic music world but still, calling a 1 year-old track vintage is a bit of strech of the imagination IMO.
  20. aparently it's impossible to find in english and since I don't speak german... hope someone will translate it one day
  21. Hmmm... then why did Fiat just save Chrysler from a certain death? Although I'm pretty sure that the author will find some link proving a conspiracy there too
  22. like why would you play the track of someone with whom you have personal issues in a set??
  23. Be careful, a softsynth is one thing and a music arangement program is something completely different. A softsynth is a program designed to simulate a real synth, so its only use is to be played (like a piano for example). This is very different from a music making software where you can record those sounds and arrange them. You probably already knew the difference between the 2 but I'm just making sure you don't end up spending a few hundred euros on a program thinking its something else than you thought it was..
