  1. but I thought that Nothing Lasts was supposed to be their last album?
  2. so this is my attempt to make classic trance... what do you guys think? Moondancer - Blue sunrise

    W (The movie)

again, with biographies you have to separate the actual life from the way the movie is made. In Frost Nixon, the main theme is the interview where Frost finally got Nixon to confess publicly which eventually lead to his resignation. It doesn't mean that it is a better movie, just that the movie focused on an event that was more interesting and emotionally charged.

    W (The movie)

well I'm happy you see things that way
  5. I used to be a huge Aronovsky fan but was totally put off by The Fountain... So has anyone seen his latest movie, The Wrestler? Is it more like Pi and Requiem For A Dream or more like The Fountain?

    W (The movie)

hehe well people complain that I'm a negative fuck on this forum so I'm trying to be more positive

    W (The movie)

hehe well personally I liked the way they portaid him in a humane way, they show that even when he did big mistakes like invading Irak, he was just listening to his counselors and thinking he was making the right choice.

    W (The movie)

Emm well if you want to see action, alien abductions and vampires you don't go see a biographical movie lol You have to judge the movie for what it is. Otherwise it would be like saying "Meh Shpongle is boring cause I find most music under 140BPM boring"... like that's missing the point completly lol Anyway, as far as biographies go, the main objective is to be well-documented (this is fact, not fiction, so excuse Mr Bush for not being gang raped by zombies and rescued by a flying car during his term lol) and show the positive as well as the negative, not just be a 2-hour praisal. From that point of view I found W to be great. Of course, it made a lot more sense to watch it when it came out (in the civilized world lol), that is just at the end of his presidency.
  9. The way I see it "Jacob" manifests himself in whatever form he wants. Now why does he apear as Christian most of the time... your guess is as good as mine wait wait I haven't seen this week's yet!!!
  10. danceable chillout = old classic trance. Classic Trax by Guy Sebbag does the trick quite nicely IMO
  11. to tell you the truth I've never been on any of the sites you mention...
  12. not ambient, but I like to listen to Union Jack - Lollypop Man when about to sleep. I can't believe how calm and soothing this track manages to be even with a relatively high BPM...
  13. yes... BUT NOT ON A PSYTRANCE SITE!!! I thought that was the whole point of having these kinds of "underground-sites" that allow people who think different to meet and discuss non-mainstream ideas. Anyway I guess we're straying too far from the main topic now, have fun with your Expendables movie
  14. yes and Britney Spears sells more records in a year than Etnica sold in their whole career...
  15. yes I know, I am seriously mentally disturbed
  16. I can't believe this thread got 14 replies and the Che Guevara one only got 3... this is sad...
  17. umm let's just say that I'll forever respect Astral for what they were...
  18. Yep I get what you mean... BUT I must also add that it is crucial for me for a long track to have enough going to keep me interested for all of it's length. That is a whole different ballgame IMO. I've heard many 20+ minute ambient where the artist just plays a note or 2 for a few minutes which is cheatting IMO. Anyway, on my top list: Eternal Basement - Woy Makyo - Pura Hallucinogen - A Welcome to all Extraterestrials Shpongle - Divine Moments of Truth Elysium - Aliens Chi AD - Pathfinder Banco de Gaia - Last Train to Lhassa Astral Projection - Liquid Sun Doof - The Second Revelation Tim Schuldt (Talking Souls) - Karma 209 Shpongle - The Seventh Revelation Etnica - Photonic Battle of the Future Buddhas - Lord of the Dance Electric Universe - One Love Sven Väth - The Beauty and the Beast
  19. you guys are joking, right?
  20. I was pretty interested when I heard that a move on THE Che Guevara was made... The mere idea of a Hollywood studio producing a movie on the most famous modern anti-American and anti-capitalist is more than intriguing... but I've herd some early reviews saying that it was pretty crap So has anyone seen it? Does it accuratly follow his biography or is it yet another one of those movies with an interesting main idea but a lousy plot?

    [rec]

back to the initial topic: has anyone noticed that Soth Park season 12 episode 10 and 11 Pandemic have a part that was filmed just like Rec? There's even a big [REC] on the screen Yes I barely saw it today, I'm lagging behind on my South Park shame on me
  22. oh that's easy... setting a ridiculously short time frame to do something is one of the golden rules of keeping tension in a suspense movie/ series. It was used by Star Trek to perfection back in the days (I don't think there was a SINGLE episode where they didn't have to get something done in a limited timeframe), and the formula has been used and abused ever since Who says Ben doesn't know where Claire is? He already knows that Christian and Jacob are the same person
  23. hummm well reviewing EPs isn't easy cause you're basically reviewing only one track in 3 or 4 different versions... For me an old EP review is more a matter of shedding some light on some forgotten act that still sounds good today cause after all in these days you can easily do a search on youtube and hear the track for yourself rather than take my description for granted. But I will try to do better next time Of course, you are welcome to add your inputs as well
