say what??? I haven't listened to Spiritual Healing in a long time but from what I recall there was only ONE uptempo track on that album: Spiritual Healing... the other ones were ambient... so when you say "the usual Muses Rapt style without ambient tracks" I'm a little puzzled...
-
so do you have any news on Tsuyoshi's new musical directions? I heard he now spins "full-on hits" like Astrix, Skazi, 1200 Mics and so on... sounds really odd since he was so busy creating his own sound in the recent years (to the point that noone considered him a psy artist anymore)
-
why don't you make your own money-raising progressive comp EP? There's room for more than one you know...
-
hmm... I understand why you say this about the downtempo tracks but for me the uptempo ones (Cathode Ray, Control, Killing Time, Lost in Time) are as goa as goa can get This would've fit perfectly in a goa comp from the period 96 - 98. I can't even imagine someone calling it another style than goa... of course, every artist has their own style that's a little different from the others but I definatley wouldn't say that Binary Dreams has his own style (well, at least not for the uptempo tracks). BTW it's Binary Dreams, not Binary Skies (which is Ypsilon 5's album). And I know that you're into the "new school" vibe but if you ask me this one easily beats other newschool albums hands down (except for Filteria): Ethereal, Ypsilon 5, V/A - Pure Planet...
-
oh wait, I see there was a tracklist after all... well... 11 unreleased tracks out of 31 tracks on the album... and basically all the "unreleased" tracks are just remixes of already released ones (and usually in the psy scene 9 out of 10 remixes are pure crap...). On the other hand, it's for the good cause... wel, I'll think it over for a few more days and then I'll decide...
-
well I'm still waiting for the tracklist...
-
well duh, people on psynews will vote for psynews or they wouldn't be here in the first place... if you posted the same topic on isratrance, everyone there would've voted for isratrance... it's like going to a Porsche owner's club and asking the members which is the best car in the world... not really the smartest thing to do if you want an unbiased opinion IMHO...

lol @ Towelie psyangel... I think you kindof misunderstood the concept of reviewing on this site...
-
BTW off-topic: don't you just love party reviews like "so I just took 500 micrograms of LSD and about 100 mg of pure MDMA and then I went to listen (insert the name of the artist)'s set. Man it was AWESOME!!! I have NEVER heard such an awesome performance in my life!! 15/10!!!" LOL it always makes me laugh...
-
that's crazy!!! you guys live in the same country and make VERY similar music (well at least Xervana did in 2001, have't listened to his new stuff)
-
I think they both copy Pleiadians - IFO well not copy, "are inspired by", it's a more politically correct word
-
never listened to it but from the tracklist I think this is a few years old, yes? how did you buy it then, second hand?
-
don't know but I can tell you for sure that it isn't a language spoken in Belgium (dutch or french). Maybe it's hindi?
-
ah yes so they aren't the same person... interesting how their stuff sounds alike though... are they friends? do they know eachother?
-
well at least the chick looks hot
-
funny, I just randomly picked up Xervana - Samples From a Virtual Life and gave it a listen after a few years... and I was amazed to see the similarity in melodies and sounds with Filteria! And then I remembered that Xervana is from Sweden too... could it be the same person? or very good friends?
-
well that's probably because Filteria is a profesionally released album and this isn't... imagine hearing Filteria songs a few years ago before he released his debut album. Well, this is sorta what you're doing now with Binary Sky... just imagine the potential once a "proper" albus will be released!! anyway, to answer your many questions: I heard about this album after reading this topic aparently the dude will release an album soon... he goes on this forum under the nick "winston" so feel free to send him an e-mail or PM to hear news from him directly. Personally I find he has so much talent it would be a real shame to keep promoting shitty full-on and clubby progressive when such TRUE artists are around...

01) Cathode Ray 02) Duck and Cover 03) Collateral Damage 04) Control 05) Apocrypha 06) Killing Time 07) Show Yourself 08) Peace 09) Sugar Coated Hell 10) Lost In Time 11) Safer Well actually this is a "homemade" album, it isn't released on a label and you can get it FREE over here: http://binarydreams.blackwaterrecords.com/media.html I know that usually home-made stuff is crap and is definatley not worth your listening time even if it's available for free... however this is completely different!!! EVERYTHING in here, from the melodies to production is VERY professional, if someone didn't specifically tell me that it was homemade, I never would've guessed. So think of this more like the Schlabbaduerst comps: un-professional distribution definatley doesn't mean un-professional music... I simply stumbled on this after reading a topic in the music making section of psynews forum. I had some spare time on my hands so I thought "ah what the hell, I'll give this a try"... and I'm so happy I did!! I stumbled on some magnificent oldschool tracks (and I guess by now you all now how much of an oldschool freak I am ) and also on some EXCELLENT downtempo tracks, reminiscent of downtempo Astral Projection and also some interesting crossblend between D&B and oldschool goatrance. Anyway, full tempo or downtempo, the word "mystical" often came to my mind when thinking on how the tracks sounded. All in all it's a VERY trippy experience, the music actually takes you places and how many albums released these days do that to you? Commenting on the tracks isn't really usefull here since you can dload the tracks and listen to them for yourself anyway So why take my word for it when you could just try it out? Conclusion As far as I'm concerned this guy makes some of the best oldschool (newschool?) music today!! He belongs right up there with Filteria as the carriers on of a certain vibe that has been thought to be long dead. Keep on the good work and will some label please get his stuff and give it a proper release??? 9/10 !!! One of the BEST albums of 04 and THE best homemade album I've EVER heard!!! (although that last part wasn't really difficult to achieve...) standouts: Cathode Ray , Collateral Damage and Control

the new database's look and feel won't be much different from the old from what I understand. The only thing will be that there will be dynamic pages instead of static. On user-end there won't be much difference but there's a huge difference for the site administrator since the pages will automatically fill in instead of needing lots of hours of work to insert them manually...

that's the plan...

because the system we had needed too muc time to update, so we're wating for a more performant system that updates easily...

11 track album download
Lemmiwinks replied to winston's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
WOAH MAAAN!!!! You should release this!!! I usually hesitate to dload amateur stuff simply because most of it is pure crap (sorry if I'm being too harsh here...). However this is DIVINE!! Massive endorsement here from an oldschool fan!!! BTW It sounds oldschool (or "newschool" as some might label it, refering to new artists making oldschool) -
I thought you were banned for life from isratrance
