If you don't have money to buy new clothes you think it's ok to simply steal them? Weird weird logic right there.

Couldn't listen to your recording thanks to my computer that's all the time absolutely pants (Soulhunter I'm gonna need your consulting in near-future)... Anyway, I think you should try and not use the BPM-counters for beatmatching... People have mixed opinions on this issue but learning to match those beats with your ears only is more than likely to pay off later on. The thing to realize is that YOU DON'T NEED to know the BPM at all, knowing which tracks are in the same speed-category is good enough--->knowing your tracks is essential. Of course, if you feel better knowing the BPMs, be it counting them manually or checking from the (inaccurate, at best) BPM-counter on your mixer, then fine, do it. BUT, remember that at the end of the day, listening to the music is the only way to get two tracks exactly matched. You mentioned the difficulty of finding the right exact speed for the incoming track. What I tend to do in these situations is to listen to both tracks mixed inside my headphones. Once the beats start drifting I use the pitch-bend button to speed up (or slow down) the cued track, and once the beats are going hand-by-hand again, I adjust the pitch-slider accordingly. The trick here is to have an idea of which track is running slightly faster... but it doesn't really matter if you don't as for example if you speed up a track that's going faster already the kicks will go even more off-sync, and therefore tell you to slow it down. There are no rules about when to bring in the new track. If the playing track stays hectic until the very final seconds and you want to play it till the end, then do so and mix the ending of the track with the intro of your incoming track. When playing more minimal material, however, playing two (or more) tracks on top of each others for minutes often sounds very cool, as you can mix the elements of two tracks by combiníng the low frequencies of one track to the mid and high secions of another track. This is how techno is mixed, and it works well with psy, too. Once you are comfortable with your beatmatching start experimenting with the EQ on your mixer, and learn to use them as an extension to the channel-faders. I can say that I near-enough never touch the cross-fader, as using the channel-faders sounds so much smoother. Depends on the mixer, though, as well as individual preferences, but channel-faders really make the changes sound more seamless. Hmmm, so there you go... I don't know if these things are ridiculously obvious but if not, think about them when practising, especially the things about beatmatching as that's the alpha and omega of any mixing really. Also if you have further questions I'd be delighted to (try and) be of help.

Third that... Couldn't care less about genres, I say if it's good, just bring it in!

Sure. Cleo Odzer was his name, and the book he wrote is Goa Freaks -My hippie years in India- Great book, highly recommended... But I don't think he was about to start producing trance, the guy was more old-skool if you know what I'm saying...

Would you care to tell which ones are correct so far?

Yeps, it pretty much Shpongle-like, i.e. not very relaxing and soothing but more beat-oriented. Gooood. Also be sure to check Shiva Space Technology compilation "Kumharas", again the similar style but in my opinion better than any Shpongle -material out there.

Besides, the real track-names are "The Loin King" and "The Loin sleeps tonight"... quite a clever play with words actually, nothing to do with lions.

There's no web-version out just yet, just the good old-fashioned paper-mag... anyway, the site is http://helsinki.aktivist.fi/fi/index.asp, I'd imagine it be readable there too at some point (although presumably in Finnish only).

Today I fully identify with Italians! Hahaha, Group G really turned out to be the real "Goup of death", with the final standings being: Mexico 7 pts Italy 4 pts Croatia 3 pts Ecuador 3 pts Especially after the "colourful" moments of ITA-CRO -game, I think this kind of outcome is more than justified. Forza Azzurri!

By no other than "our own" forum visitor Cosmo, in the latest issue of Aktivist... Go go check it out, the interview itself is none too in-depth but the whole story makes for interesting reading. Good work, Cosmo!

Shiva Space Japan - Force... When the heck is that potential killer-comp going to hit the selves? It's been "coming soon" for ages already! Gimme!

Judging by this "rub it in your face" style of yours you probably deserved all the beating those Frenchmen could deliver and more. But hey, no offense mate.

ELYSIUM PROJECT IS VERY NAUGHTY & OBSESSED WITH MONEY :-
Järsimähäiriö replied to a topic in General Psytrance
I find it very interesting that this kind of topics always get the most replies, even though people in general seem to think that insulting eachother and making rasistic remarks is not to be considered as mature behaviour... I understand that you might be doing this for fun, which on the other hand tells quite a lot about you. -

Oh, glad to see that EP comes up with this extremely intelligent insult. -
Useless junk... hmm, that certainly rings some bells... Moderators, be up your duties.

Get the fock out of here you sleazy thief or I'll let the dogs after you!

I got some stuff a while back, have been spinning like a madman ever since. I went with cd-decks simply because all my music is on cds, plus I got great great players for great great price.

Hmm, there was no foul committed against Croatian goalkeeper, nor was there an off-side... I think those refs won't be seen on the field anymore in this tournament. Anyway, Croatia looked great, a totally different team compared to the dreadful performance against Mexico. I'm quite amazed and wish they'll be the other team going forward to the second round.

I think he means D-Tek N' DR-Panic - Psychedelic Cowboy, or probably Juno Reactor - Pistolero.

Naah, I think I prefer the word "tit" instead... Anyway, Mike, I think you have a history of relentless usage of the r-word, despite your profession among the mentally-challenged people... Is this another case of don't do what I do, do what I say? If it is, then all my sympathy are belong to us.

Hey people, stop replying this kind of retarded posts! Ok I'm probably not the one to tell you this as I have obviously fed a couple of trolls lately, but... don't do what I do, do what I say!
-
Nice. So what did you win?
-
No, I'd take a wild guess and say it's Spanish.

Also, I guess you are implying that just because Saudi-Arabia and China are playing there now while teams like Holland, Norway and Greece aren't, Saudi-Arabia and China are better teams? Hehhee, right... It's actually quite stupid that some of the best teams in the world don't make it to the World Cup finals solely for the reason that there are so many good teams in europe... But I also understand that this kind of qualification-system encourages the nations of North-America and Asia to really get into the joys of football as there's a good chance of getting into the World Cup finals without having to be too good at it.
-
So you are saying that Americans actually are football-entusiasts? It's a really big sport over there? Wow, I mean that's not what the owners of the MLS-teams say... Also, Broadcasting-companies seem to disagree with you as well. And, staying incredibly calm despite your attitude, I could add that I'm not so sure if USA would have made it to the World Cups finals if they had to play in the same qualification group as England and Germany, with only one team succeeding and number #2 heading to further qualification-matches... To play in the "North- and Central-American" group is something completely different, I mean competing against such football-giants as Guatemala, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and Honduras isn't exactly to be considered as tasking for any even half-decent team. And yea I can tell you that despite the fact that our team is not playing there this time people are really keen on the games, many people have taken some vacation to be able to watch the matches every day. And to be quite honest, I'm not quite followin what are you trying to prove here... First you come posting in this topic (The official World Cup thread) about how nobody cares about such stupid sport, yet now you are bragging about how you and your countrymen are all for team USA... which is of course good for you if this is the case... So how is it?
