  1. Snakey Shaker by Hallucinogen starts in 4/4 rhythm and then, quite casually, changes to 3/4 rhythm. The change happens at 2:17. It changes back to 4/4 at some point towards the end egain.
  2. I have found out that my vision of the ideal girl is someone calm, gentle and dreamy who at the same has a clear view about themselves and their world and the guts to protect themselves/their world and also actually go about pursuing their dreams. It's probably no coincidence that these are the qualities I have come to view as most important in keeping/further cultivating in myself. The closest sonic equivalent for this girl would be "Chi A.D. - Anno Domini". (First Track:) http://youtu.be/zcMMQZl5MPg Concerning an actual existing girl, without a doubt the first woman to cause feelings in me which weren't comparable in intensity to anything before, this song used to come up in random radios when we spent time together quite often and for me it has become "our song": "Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence"
  3. Michael Shrieve, Klaus Schulze - Transfer Station Blue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_-zdbuEL4c
  4. Alifer - Requiem for a Trip Seems to be a "Trip Tonite" versus "Requiem for a Dream" kind of thing made by a hardtek(?) producer. Quite intriguing to say the least. =)
  5. Maybe you should rethink that opinion. I assume you hardly know 99% of the people posting here, therefor you cannot know what they should or should not do. They know their lifes and what they feel like doing or not doing and what they really should do. You cannot know this. I know you'd appreciate a more active forum, especially more interaction with you, but you will never succeed in encouraging people to do what you'd like them to do here, because you don't really know them and they don't really know you. You are annoying people with repeatedly asking them to do something they do not want to do. Obviously, you are the one who is not happy with the way this community ticks, trying to encourage people to change their posting habits... Don't you think that those who are able to use this forum in a way that suits them, without complaining, are able to appreciate what a wonderful place this is? I know you think it would be more wonderful if people were more active in the forum - but this is only an opinion and it seems there's hardly anyone here who agrees with you.
  6. I didn't find it that melancholic to start with. But then I read the track title on the cover... The Future Sound of London - Everyone in the World Is Doing Something Without Me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8IaPa9Z3vM
  7. This one has been my favourite dj set for a long time: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php/topic/62866-project-2501-derelict-space-beacon-new-full-length-set/
  8. Well, well... What if I assumed I was/am going to be all the chicken I have eaten in this life in a previous/future incarnation... everything seems to be making a lot of sense, doesn't it? Maybe, next time, I'm ingesting something I should say: "Hello, former/future/other self, may I introduce you to my stomach?"
  9. It's the same for me. I guess as a sound/noise itself it is unpleasant, but if heard rather faintly, from a distance, it's a sign of aliveness of ones surroundings and therefor nice to hear.
  10. I like the second one better. The first one had the bonus of the elegance of simplicity, but it was a bit too simple for my taste. The second cover art conveys an idea of growth and I really like that.
  11. Half a year is not very old for an appreciation thread IMO, but here goes anyway. Well, what can be said? I love them and think their legend-status is completely justified. What sets them apart from the others? "They" all have their own sound and are best at what they do. Do you want drugs? Have some intellectually ingenious Hallucinogen. Do you want spirituality? Have some emotionally enlightened Astral Projection. Do you want extraterrestrials? Have some intensely strange Etnica/Pleiadians.
  12. I just went through my old, unused jewel cases to put some of them together for the free CDs I received from Oopie today and what did I come across? The cover of "Goa Vol. 7" by YSE. 2nd track on disc 2: "Akanoid - Dance With Me". What a day!
  13. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll happily take those two, too, if the man himself says so. And of course I wouldn't mind covering your expenses for the shipping at all, unless you're totally against it. Just read the "and others" part of your response. If you'd prefer to send me more than those 3 CDs, I'd pick the two Massive Attack albums next, and then Morcheeba. But I'd gladly leave these for others and pay for the shipping of just Richie, Dan and Brother's, as well.
  14. Richie Hawtin ‎– DE9 | Closer To The Edit sounds really interesting. I guess I'll take this one, if you don't mind. edit: I'm going to bed right now.
  15. I just received the latest Suntrip Newsletter. So many great news, especially the SuntripRecords youtube channel! 'Gonna have to place a big order soon. =)
  16. What you describe sounds like a more or less mild form of depression to me. What do you think are the reasons why you can't relate to/enjoy the world outside? Do you mean the temperatures are still too low or is there some other reason? I've been depressed for longer durations (some weeks/months) several times in my life, sometimes quite severe. Luckily it hasn't happened in years now.

  18. There are the historical reasons... and for me the newschool goa trance sound feels different than the oldschool sound. I prefer to have the freshly produced goa trance in the "newschool goa" drawer and the original old goa in the "oldschool goa" drawer for myself. Of course both styles are "goa trance", but to me, personally, the differentiation into newschool and oldschool usually feels better than lumping both together into "goa trance", when I talk about it.
  19. I guess you could just say you're sorry it came it out wrong, and maybe explain that the reason for this was that you were (maybe righfully?) frustrated. It's always hard to contemplate hypothetical situations, where no details are known... Or, you know, it might actually be better to turn it around, around the lines of: "I think I was rightfully (/understandably?) frustrated, but I am still honestly sorry."
  20. Crennwiick - Untitry ( http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/crennwiick-untitry ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoQ5uABUC6o I've listened through this EP probably 15 times during the last three days.
  21. Yeah, "Steamagination" is absolute gold. I heard psytrance tracks with dubstep in them at two quite recent parties and both times it worked. To me this just proves there are no rules set in stone - if the dj has good taste (aka taste similar to the person who makes that judgement) even dubstep in psytrance can work. Just came across this:
  22. I always found this album exceptionally suited for that kind of purpose: "Dub Trees ‎– Nature Never Did Betray The Heart That Loved Her" (Ambient/Dub, according to discogs) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrhZSN1Zo5A&list=PL533A53C28EC9CDF0 Link for the playlist for the full album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrhZSN1Zo5A&list=PL533A53C28EC9CDF0
  23. In Austria we sometimes say "Ich bin dann eine Staubwolke" ("I'm going to be a dustcloud/trail of dust") when we are about to leave. So, right now I'm looking forward to saying "Gonna sublimate" (it's a term in physics, which means to go straight from solid to gas state, skipping the liquid state).
  24. That's some reeeeally nice (hopefully?) cover art! Track list and theme sound very promising, too. =)
