BTW do you remember the reviews database in the old psynews? That was dope! Much better than forums imo.
-
Let's be honest. If we didn't have T2MU then reviews would be dead years now. Personally the reason I don't write reviews anymore are two: 1) I have a huge backlog and I don't focus too much on one release and 2) Apart from Goa releases who get lot of traffic very few people here are interested in other psytrance genres.

Hey, that's a nice track!
-
This album is a freaking masterpiece.
-
Bretty gud. Deep with subtle melodies. I like it.
-
There are no cheesy horror samples in 99,9% of darkpsy.
-
Well forest psy and darkpsy are siblings. Sometimes it's very hard to classify a track between them. Unless you mean the schlabbaduerst sound.
-
Metamorphose's middle melody is one of my favourite moments in psytrance...like ever.

It's true that many darkpsy ain't that dark, but it's music more suitable for night time. The lack of melodies, the monotonous bass, the overall more sinister sound is something most associated with night and darkness than morning and light. Another thing is that darkpsy is called that cause when it was created it was (and still is) darker than most Goa and Psy. Hence darkpsy. Another thing is that there's not one definiton of darkness. There's spacey darkness, evil darkness, spooky darkness, mechanical darkness etc. For example Darshan, The Delta, Kindzadza, BOTFB, Xenomorph, Necropsycho and Sentient are all dark psy, but its one is a different kind of darkness.

I disagree. It may not be as good as his first one, but it has some great tracks. His third album though was crap (minus the Alien Pump remix).
-
It really is, but he has written so many godly tracks with all his projects is ridiculous. Masterpiece after mastepiece after masterpiece. I also love his melancholic/nostalgic melodies like the ones in Rodeo, The Morning Song, Why Not On Mars? and of course Voice Of Delusion.

Ofer is a legend. Quite possibly one of the three most talented Goa producers ever.
-
Sinai is better than everything.
-
Lestat has written the best track of all time. Yeah, I mean Sinai. For years he was my favourite artist. From 1997 to 2003 he only made superb tracks. Too bad he went full mainstream.
-
Yep, classic track. Liam is a genius. BTW here is a clip for their legendary live in Athens in 1995. If you're wondering why the music stopped is because metal fans where throwing rocks at the stage.

Favorite oldschool techno/early trance?
Ormion replied to Blair Thaumic's topic in General Psytrance
Not so much proto-goa, but this for sure -
What music are you listening to right now?

What a track! -
How old were you when you started listening to goa/psytrance?
Ormion replied to XoArK's topic in General Psytrance
1998. I was 17. Now I'm 35. -
BvS was pretty meh. Affleck was pretty good though and we finally saw a Batman that can fight unlike that Nolan travesty.

The only time I've seen the term Psychedelic Techno is in Psytrance compilations like Goa-Head. Although in the case of Goa-Head they mostly meant progressive than actual Psy Tech. Anyway I personally use both Psychedelic Techno and Psy Tech for the same music, but I'm not into Techno so I don't know if Psychedelic Techno (as a Techno genre) exists.
