Get ready for the best track of 2009! j/k of course, although this is the only track I've made that I'm not ashamed of. The style is something between dark, full on, melodic...plain psychedelic I guess. If you can listen and comment will be great. Exelization-Contamination Tank yu in advance!
-
I guess not. It's pure IDM ambient IMO. I would like to vote for SubtractiveLAD-Apparatus too, but it doesn't have any real psybient elements in it, so I didn't.

Why are you saying that? This is the dream of every 80's/90's action lover.

I'll wait for some impressions.

Mixed By Sharaku 1. Dirty Dreds - Black Cat 2. F-Virus - Ahdistustila 3. Calamar Audio feat. Anx - Slime In The Nose 4. Salakavala - Roller Roaster 5. Igor Swamp - Katotaanyy 6. Flying Scorpions - Hostage Situation 7. Ex Uus - Incongnito (Live mix) 8. Texas Faggott - Peepwhocame 9. Mandalavandalz - Virtual Koto 10. Lightaman JR - Shinkansen 11. Flying Scorpions - Equadoor (remix) Here we have the ultimate Suomi release. Just look at the tracklist. All star cast! DJ Sharaku really chose some of the finest finnish tracks. Dirty Dreds is great. The bass is so good! Melodies, madness, key changes, everything you want form a psytrance track is here. F-Virus is a bit more aggressive and acidic. Once again many layers are thrown together to form melodies sometimes with an old school touch. The Calamar Audio vs Anx track is good, but too many guitars for my taste. Although they're not that annoying, they have the upper hand in this track.Cool though. Next are Salakavala. There's something funny about this group. I didn't like their album that much, but I do enjoy their compilation tracks. Roller Coaster is trippy, crazy, fast and has this unique Suomi humour. Very good track. Igor Swamp is love or hate. It's almost too cheesy or too annoying. But eventually it grew on me and now I find it catchy. I still prefer his album tracks, but this is a track you can't avoid. Either you gonna love it or never listened again. And yes Flying Scorpions. Ok this track is too good to be described. Maximal, multilayered, ultra melodic, crazy, psychedelic, intense Suomi trance. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! No question one of the five best tracks of 2008. SO good! Ex Uus is more experimental here. Very crazy and darker than the rest. It lacks the melodies, but it reminds me some Psychopod stuff. Yes it's great too. Texas Faggott is ok. Not the best they could give IMO. It still has the madness and the fast melodies. It's not bad, not at all, but they have produced better tracks. Mandalavandalz's Virtual Koto is the second supertrack here, It's in similar style with Hostage Situation. Melodic, intense with bigger than life synths. Unfortunately it lasts only 2:30 minutes. I don't know if it's a small track or Sharaku decided to mix it that much, but judging from other Mandalavandalz tracks I guess it's probably the first one. Lightaman JR is one more stormer. Crazy, intense and melodic. The saw-ish lines are crazy here. Love it! And Flying Scorpions again with another gem. Not that intense as the previous track, but again a melodic blast. The main melody here is beautiful. Simply beautiful. For some strange reason there's a nostalgic feeling in this track. Kick ass! Overall this is a really great release. The only negative I can say about this cd is that unfortunately there are no cuts between the tracks. It's one big track, which sucks IMO. Personally I had to edit and cut the tracks myself, which wasn't easy since it was difficult to find out when a track ends and the next one begins. Which BTW it's a proof about how great this Sharaku's mix is. Favorite tracks are definitely the Flying Scorpions ones, especially Hostage Situation which is magnificent!!! Mandalavandalz-Virtual Koto is small, but awesome, Lightaman JR, Dirty Dreds and...you know what? I like them all. You like Suomi? Then buy it now. Simple as that. 9/10 Samples: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/ds6/ds61cd010.html http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=7211

Psychoz - 2012 No Return 1. Mistery 2. An Entrance 3. Tools Of The Trade 4. Valley Of The Lost Souls 5. Twisted Garden 6. Retribution 7. Over The Hills 8. Spiritual Beggars 9. Soulwax + Bonus Video Psychoz is Zoran Zlatkovski from Germany. His first album back in 2002 was in a completelly different style than his later works almost acidic Psy techno while now he produces darkpsy. I can imagine what you're thinking. 1) How cliché is the title and 2) another darkpsy album that isn't dark. Well the title may sound a bit cliché with all this 2012 madness of our days, but all the tracks give a feeling of an upcoming doom that totally justifies it. About number 2? Well prepared to be surprised cause this album is dark! Dark pads, haunted atmospheres and some spooky melodic lines. Especially the pads he's using can be very scary. The whole style is unique. No fx madness here or random sounds, everything is in place. Even the basslines are slightly more melodic than the usual darkpsy stuff. Like I said all the tracks have a pessimistic feeling, like something bad is coming. The bpm's are normal too, no 170+ madness here. Also the album has a 'ritual', ancient feeling in it unlike the futuristic sound that other darkpsy albums have. The production plays its part in this. It's dirty, noisy and although some high frequencies in some samples might hurt your ears it's perfect for this kind of music. It would definitely lose a lot of points with a crystal clear sound. Favorite tracks? An Entrance for sure. Dark and almost melodic. Amazing! The downtempo Mistery (which actually sounds a bit old school-ish), Valley Of Lost Souls and Twisted Garden. I actually like all the tracks here and the only thing that don't care is some guitars in Retribution. If you want something dark and interesting give it a try. It was a huge surpise for me! 8.5/10 Samples: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/sam/sam1cd009.html http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=7742 ps: I can't open the video file. Anyone knows why? I didn't have any problem with previous Shaman Films releases.

Sick Addiction - Demented Diary 1. 50/50 2. Cleaning Up The Place 3. Space Worms 4. Half A Quarter 5. Kinky 6. Happy Times 7. Detune Saga 8. Monkey Business 9. Mug Shots 10. Sweat Sick Addiction is a collaboration between D_Maniacs and Tryambaka. Although I'm not familiar with D_Maniacs I have been a Tryambaka fan the last years. Luckily this album reminds me a lot of his works including his album Colour Of Time. If you're familiar with the Portuguese Full On scene then you might know what to except. It's powerful, energetic, dancefloor smasher music, with a load of melodies minus the cheese. All the tracks seem to be perfect for both morning and night times and great for both dancefloors and home listening. All of the tracks have multiple melodic lines, that range from ecstatic fast ravey lines (which I guess is more D_Maniacs style) to the known classical-influenced Tryambaka melodies. Also the album is pure psychedelic with many fx madness and great ideas. The only thing that I guess some of you won't like that much is the use of long and funny samples especially in the intros. But I think they fit pretty well with the whole attitude of the music. Favorite tracks are 50/50 (which as the name suggests seems to be the perfect example of both artists' styles), Kinky and Happy Times. But IMO all the tracks are strong and if you like one, you'll like the rest too. If you're looking for something both powerful and melodic this is a perfect album. 8/10 Samples: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/tkr/tkr1cd002.html http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=7768

Furious - Supremacy 1. Furious - Impressive 2. Furious - This Way (remix) 3. Furious - Sadizmo 4. Furious - Hellworld 5. Furious - Poison 6. Furious & KinDzaDza - Bring The Plant 7. Furious & Exited - Grabs Me 8. Furious & Peyya & Vovan - LSD Baba And 40 Ravers 9. Furious & Guitar Whoop - Ufo On Lfo Here we have the third album by Russian artist Furious. This starts where Uncanny Beats ended. If you're not familiar with the new Furious sound, I have to warn you before you hit the samples link. This is maximal. Actually it's the maximal of the maximals. All the tracks here are an overload of hunderds (literally) sounds that blend together over furious basslines and powerful kicks. Climaxes, start-stops are in the menu too. If you haven't listened to Uncanny Beats then you're not prepared for what is coming. The tracks here are all very fast over 160 bpm, but the speed fits perfectly with the style and don't bother at all. There's no breaks or chill out tracks here, just 80 minutes of mayhem. And I know that I've said mayhem many times before, but this time I really mean it! The mixing/mastering/whole production is from another world. It's amazing that with all this chaos everything sounds crystal clear. Favorite tracks? All obviously although Sadizmo sets news standards of insane music. Beyond belief! If you're looking for ultra intense, mind blowing, maximal psytrance you just found your ideal release. 10/10 Samples: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/tlf/tlf1cd001.html http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=7684

Do you think though that are perfect for sleeping? I find both Entheogenic and Capsula too much ''uptempo'' for relaxing. Great artists of course, but IMO not so Sleep Night Music.

So can we do it? I have a bunch of releases that have not been reviewed here.

Cast: Sylvester Stallone Jason Statham Mickey Rourke Jet Li Dolph Lundgren Randy Couture Ben Kingsley Forest Whitaker Story: A team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator. Need to say more? This is the biggest badass gathering ever. Stallone also invited Jean Claude Van Damme, but that stupid refused! All it needs now is Stephen Seagal and a cameo by Arnie, and there you have it: The ultimate adrenalin rush!

Petition to bring the reviews database back It's already half of February and only two 2009 releases have been reviewed so far. (And actually Psykovsky-Da Budet is not even a review). Many 2008 important releases never been reviewed. The reviews section is going down! Many members that used to write reviews don't post anymore, other members don't have time to review stuff (including me), why not bring the reviews database back? I don't know if this is possible with the current site layout but two things: 1) The real advantage of Psynews was the reviews database. No other site had something similar since sites like psydb.net doesn't have reviews section and discogs is too official. A lot of ppl (including me) first became aware of Psynews because of the database. 2) Like I'd said many times before the current forum-review type is kind of problematic (not only in Psynews, but in every similar site). Why? Well because the only way to comment to a release is to be already a topic about it. And the only way to open a topic is to write a full review. The reviews database was very easy to browse and write comments or if a member wanted to a full review. I can understand that with the amount of releases today is not that easy, but I'm sure more members (including me again) are willing to help. After all writing a tracklist and uploading a photo is easier that a full review. Best regards Ormion.

Isn't M.E.E.O. - Highlight Me Please Psy Glitch?
Ormion replied to karan129's topic in General Psytrance
Hey relax! I don't think Karan intention was to name this album as Psy-glitch, he just thought it sounds like it. Although I still don't get what it means like that.
