The ast-roid remix is way better than the original IMO and the most crazy AP track together with Life On Mars.

Since Aurora will be my first festival I go that last more than one day I need to ask a completelly n00bish question. Do I have to bring a tent?

Space Cat and Elysium-Funky copied Astral Projection-Dancing Galaxy Many melodies from Nystagmus album copied Inefected Mushroom's melodies by the Classical Mushroom album.

I don't see any reason at all why not give to this album a 10/10. All the classics are in there and the remixes are all very good! (except the Cass & Slide rework which is a disaster IMO). Plus, the AP vs Trilithon track is one of the best Trance tracks ever made! So, 10/10

I don't like most of the tracks in both cds, especially in cd1. Yet, it's a must buy for 2 tracks. The Deeper The Bluer (Oforia remix) and Coming Home. All Time Favorites! The Passenger remix of Summer 89 is way too clubby, almost normal trance, but damn I like it a lot! 5.5/10

Besides the mono sound this album is still awesome. Gothic, melodic and very spooky! The kind of Psy we miss these days. 8.5/10

I think it's time to say a few words about this album. This is one of the first Psy(?) album I bought, I have listened to it like a million times, but I still don't like it at all. Pistolero still sounds to me exactly like the first time. My thoughts were ''interesting but too mainstream''. I even bet that one day this track would be in a newschool western movie and guess what, some years later it appeared in Once Upon A Time In Mexico. It's a cool track, but sounds extremelly commercial to my ears and the main giutar melody still annoys me. Don't like. Hulelam is simply boring IMO. Insects is one of the best of the albums, dark and abstract, yet nothing exciting. Badimo is indeed very dark, it grew on me a lot, but again nothing to be excited about it. Masters Of The Universe was the track I liked the most in his album. Unfortunately it grew old for me. I believe it's as mainstream as Pistolero, but that's not the point. The point is that today I found the track to be very simple. Catchy indeed, but that's all. Both Nitrogen are very boring for me. I still can't remember a thing about them. Solaris is a track I used to hate, but today is my favorite of the album. Especially the first half is very soothing and trippy with great flute. And Song For Ancestors. Well, at first I disliked it, then I liked it a lot, now I dislike it again. The track is indeed good, but those female vocals are maybe the worst I've ever heard. The moment she laughs makes me wanna kill myself. If the vocals were missing then I would still like it. Shango for me is one of this classic albums that I never appreciated, ever after 8 years of listening, so my rating is the same with my first one 3/10.

Psi is for the hi-hat! I didn't know how else to write it!

The second ''melody'' was random random clicks notes. There wasn't any scale, just closed my eyes and clicked. The first one is clear melody for me (crappy of course bit still melody). I don't disagree at all, I use the word melody in its real meaning. The noise of the streets sounds melodic to some ppl so it's melody for them, but the word ''melody'' doesn't fit quite well , does it? When you were messing with the sequencer and Goa-ish melodies popped up you were aiming for a melody, right? -

And since Otter pissed be me off here's the difference: Here is a melody I created by chance. I was aiming for a melody, I add some notes in chance, then put some extra notes in the right quantize and here it is http://www.zshare.net/audio/1667138972cbd2cb/ And here is a random ''melody'' by adding notes in a random way http://www.zshare.net/audio/16671498e29ace3b/ If you can't hear the difference then you're really deaf. Sorry for off topic. -

Well bye bye then! It's one thing to mess around with a sequencer and once in a while a great melody pops up (which btw it's great way to write melodies) and whole other thing to add notes in a complete random way without caring about rhyhthm or symmetry. If you create a melody with the first way even by chance (meaning without having in mind what exactly you want to create) is a melody so it's not random. Do you want me to create something random to understand the difference? -

Then since you have created a melody it's not random. Melodies are never random. Maybe they have been created by chance, but they are never random, cause if they were they wouldn't be melodies. Not like this have anything to do wiht Pleiadians. Their melodies are simply genious. -

Either you deaf or don't know what random means. Random: lacking any definite plan or order or purpose; governed by or depending on chance; "a random choice"; "bombs fell at random"; "random movements" -
For me it was always ''mmm OK''

I will give you an advice. If you don't like it then don't say a word because Psynews is filled with Simon's bitches and they'll eat you alive! Just kidding. Tell us your impressions.

Man those samples are boring! boom-psi-boom-psi all the way. So minimal I want to sleep. Maybe these are just the intros, but If the whole tracks are like that, then thanks but no! I miss Schizoeffective, that was pure badass stuff not just recycled techno. IMO

Nintendo DS music creation software
Ormion replied to gallowglass's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
I've seen a lot of videos with Korg DS and apparently it is great! It sells incredibly well in Japan too. I think the price of it is around 40-50 euros. -
It was cool. At some point after reviewing a lot of crap, he started to write a lot of sarcastic reviews, but later he relaxed a bit. I agree with many of his reviews, disagree with some, but that's how life is, right? I don't know why he stopped, though. Many believe that he was bored to review so much bad music out there, but many of his latest reviews were positive and had an optimism in them.

Apparently different ppl, different tastes. There's nothing to feel bad about it. For me IFO is everything Goa (and Psy in gereral) was, is and will be. Ultra melodic, ubber maximal, totally psychedelic, colorful, spacey, intense, complex, fractal music. 11 years later and I haven't listened anything that comes close to it. -
Congratulations my friend!!! :clapping: This track is awesome! The intro is very calming, the percussion is very good and I love how the melodies start to complete each other. The melody that starts at 03:15 is simply awesome, kind of goa-ish IMO reminds a lot of Unstable Elements. The first part of your track is very nostalgic and calming, great! Then suddenly at 05:10 the track changes direction. And what a change! Seriously the melody that you wrote there is simply wonderful! It's happy, yet nostalgic I love those melodies!!! The breakbeat fat kick follows perfectly the melody! Simply great! Totally great track Otto! I'll add the 05:15 melody to my best melodies list! Keep going :posford:
