I would like to register my disappointment

His debut is a classic for me. -
Necessary Evil is going to be an all time classic... Trance is back

Better than the Enemy Within IMO. It focuses more on the melodies, all the tracks have at least one lead synth that is catchy and powerful. Best track is of course the collaboration with Azax Syndrom in the Exploding Man track. Great leads, great flow, very well done track! Another highlights are Medejin, Planet X and Jekyll And Hyde. The last track is kind of cheesy only compared to the others, but have some nice morning melodies to keep you happy. Plus the mastering is top notch! Really nice!!!

I have no idea. I guess they are gonna change them all.

Discogs have changed their system about compilations a bit. They now credit the compialtion to the DJ who mixed or compiled it! For example Goa Gil-Forest Of The Saints or Safi Connection-Psionic Groove. I personally don't like it. What's the point? It's a compilation, so the artist name must be 'Various'. Also, the 'releases' results about artists that have released an album and have also compiled a compilation is really a mess. What do you think?

Very, very nice album! You can hear the work of these guys. The hard work on each track is obvious. No lazy beats, just great Psy. The album is much more storytelling than the first one, with a classic touch in the melodies. Every track tells a story. The attention to detail is impressive. And all that without forgeting the rave feeling of the first album. Fast leads and uplifting twilight melodies. No weak tracks here, but especially Sirens and Betrayal Of Sound are already in my ''best of the best of 2008'' list for me. Quality. Simple as that.

The best compilation of 2008 IMO. Better than part 2 too. This is absolutely quality Psytrance and I mean TRUE Psytrance here. Every track is simply amazing, it's one of the few compilations with really no fillers, all tracks are perfectly made. The Absolum track is a pure stomper remixed by Shift, a really great remixer. Shift's Synesthesia is a blend of the old (hard kick, massive bass) and new (melodic lines) Shift style. One of the best tracks of 2008. Lost And Found track is weaker compared to his other tracks IMO, but still impressive. Now, Shift kicks that much ass that he decided to remix Nefarious from the Multistate album, which happens to be my favorite from their album. The track is a pure bliss! As hard as it gets, with extra acidic lines over the synths of the original. Even better than the original IMO. Hydraglyph track is very nice indeed, perfect balance between SA sound and more normal full on. Mantis is dark, acidic, poweful and badass at the same time. A great new artist reminds me a bit of Shift older works. Great track. Super project Twisted System, my absolute favorite group. Dark track, yet melodic, seriously made, not uberpowerful but dynamic. Hardcore. The Ctrl Alt Del vs Shift collaboration is another winner. MASSIVE synths and powerful kicks, twilight melodic Psy at its best. Deliriant's track is perfection. Pure perfection. The last synth is unbelievale. A melody that will haunt me for years. Pure rave! And the climax is one of the best ever listened. Cult status reached. Slug's great Zombie is another winner. Powerful yet gentle, beautiful Psy. Overall 10/10 without any hesitation. Midinight Storm 3. Real psytrance inside.

Judging by the tracklist is 100% full on.

Really? Damn I really got it all wrong. I thought that Goblin was behind both Ace Ventura and the new Psysex stuff and that Yoni had left the scene. Sorry about that.

How do you feel if the new Astral Projection is drum n bass? Even if it is the best drim n bass album ever, wouldn't it feel strange? I have no problem with artists take a new direction and I never said anything bad about the quality of Healing. But when for years a name that represents a specific music changes dramatically it sounds very strange. For me Psysex will always remind me tracks like L.S.Dance or Alien Cop, totally crazy stuff. When suddenly I hear sound that has nothing to do with it, I don't like the fact that it was released under the Psysex name, ESPECIALLY when Goblin has already a proggy side-project Ace Ventura. It's exactly like Etnica. What was the logic of releasing a Pleiadians album that sounds exactly like the new Etnica stuff? Artists must evolve their music, but at least show some respect to the original ideas of your project.
-
Nah! Psysex+proggy sound=FAIL Ok it's not the typical proggy, but we're talking about Psysex here, not Ace Ventura. Different names , different styles, that's how it must be. Psysex used to be the lords of the crazy Psytrance (and one of the fathers of pure psychotic Psy), so this style doesn't fit at all. If this music had been released under a different name then ok. But using the Psysex name is almost the same with using Pleiadians name to release full on IMO.

The first CPU album is still one of the best album ever listened. It was the epitomy of full on music. Not full on Psy, but full on in general. Agressive, psychedelic, metallic, uber-psytrance. The second album was a dissapointment, but still had some good tracks. Since then I have only listen a couple of tracks and apparently he has gone bananas. I'm curious now about the Synergy (Absolum+CPU) album. It's in the works for some years now, but it's supposed to be released. But how it's gonna sound? -
Xamanist :: I'm just Amazed (goa/psy/prog)
Ormion replied to Xamanist's topic in Free Music Promotion
Hey serquei, that's a nice morning tune you've got there! It's very trippy I like that. Now I'm not that a big fan of Prog, but your style is so unique. It's melodic, fast and full of energy. If only all the progressive tracks were like that. The Goa influences work great in that tune too The sound is a bit ''dirty'', but possibly you prefer it that way? Anyway another great track Keep 'em coming! -
What music are you listening to right now?

Tracklist looks superb!!! And thanks for adding Avasari=best ambient ever made! -
The green one with the spiral comes only as a part of the boxset Distance To Goa 1,2,3. It not supposed to sell it individualy!

Once I found Doof-Let's Turn On (new) in a small record store together with other...House cds. It was one of the best day ever, considered that it's kind of a rare cd.
-
Yeah this happen a lot. Tracks are missiNg, wrong spelling, different tracklistS etc.
-
I don't have the album, but I have five of the tracks in different compilations including other tracks by them. And no it's not so bad. Most of the tracks are good, not something extraordinary, except the ''Ornaments Of Dust'' which is great! The thing I find funny is that many old members called that Techno in the review database. Techno? wtf? This is 100% slow floating Goa. So yes I agree with you. I don't think they are a super group but way too underrated.

Yeah Chicane is good. Thsnks for the recommendations

Why the irony? -
No he doesn't. He's a guy for God's sake!
-
Wow! Cool thanks! BTW I used the word cheesy in a good way. I really like this trancey feeling.
-
I don't think it's that bad. Those cheesy lines always sounded good to my ears.

Before I got into Psy I used to listen a lot to normal trance, especially the Anthem Uplifting genre. I still do actually. Any good tracks to recommend me?
