Every second kick.

The second part is lovely. May I suggest a subtle snare?

18 years later and Electra is still unmatched power-wise
Ormion replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
I use powerful and intense in a literal sense. Tracks that go to the extremes. Another example of super power Goa track without many layers is ManMadeMan-Drama. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RK_OcXSEj2Q And of course Christof & DJ Mael-KLM (the original one) although that's more psytrance than Goa. -
Order matters! You should rearrange them from favourite to least favourite.

18 years later and Electra is still unmatched power-wise
Ormion replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
I highly disagree. This one is a hell of a track, but power-wise is light years behind of Electra. The only Goa track I can think that came close is Filteria-Navigate. -
So listening to I.F.O. 3cd made me realize that Electra is 18 years old and still no Goa track has even barely touched its power. It feels like Pleidians said 'fuck it, let's go all in'. And they went. Unbelievable. There are some tracks that came close, but Electra was and still is the single most powerful and intense Goa track ever written. Do you think it will ever be topped? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGAIpzpBvVQ

Honestly I don't see what's the big deal about it. It's nice yes, but ppl talk about it like it's the second coming of Forest psy. It's more on the minimal side of Forest, but it lacks the atmosphere and eeriness.

Many tracks by The Muses Rapt
-
You took the worlds right out of my mouth. I agree 100% His basslines are amazing. His synths are superb. His tracks however are too easygoing for my taste.

The problem with this subgenre (UK psytrance, UK full on, Doof style whatever you wanna call it) is that it's a totally overkill in big doses. I have a shit-ton of releases in this style including this album and while it's great to listen to 1-3 tracks per time one whole album will bore me out like T2MU said. All artists sound the same and all their tracks sound the same as well. As for the album it ain't bad, just mediocre. I wish it features more interesting bass, more aggressive and less funky. That would make a huge difference to this subgenre.

What exactly is "progressive psytrance"
Ormion replied to recursion loop's topic in General Psytrance
That's how I see it. There are 145 bpm prog tracks and 135 bpm full on tracks for example. -
What exactly is "progressive psytrance"
Ormion replied to recursion loop's topic in General Psytrance
It's psytrance with normal trance, techno, electro or house elements. Therefore it's usually slower, minimal, less psychedelic and more club friendly than most psytrance genres. However many artists combine prog with full on so sometimes it sounds faster and with a rolling bass. As for the name psyprog is short for progressive psytrance. -
Similar bands like Radical Distortion?
Ormion replied to Goa Travellers's topic in General Psytrance
Radical Distortion are basically the MFG of today. Not quality wise of course, despite that RD are pretty good. -
No. I would though if I saw the animals beforehand.

Many times I have I complained for the lack of edgy, badass tracks in new school Goa. Although in the last years there are more artists that going in that direction I still believe the vast majority is floating, sunny stuff. What I'm looking for: Twisted, edgy, badass new Goa with attitude and energy. What I'm not looking for: Floaty stuff with no climaxes. Unmemorable melodies. Layers with no meaning. Here are a couple of examples of what I want: Ufomatka-Asteroid Dark, spacey, badass Goa. Amanians-DNA Twisted, crazy Goa, with defined melodies and maximum energy. Javi & Sko0ma-Emotional Overload Clean oriental melodies that never became cheesy. Proper psychedelic. Unpredictable. Pretty much anything by them. Morphic Resonance-Rollercoaster Everthing by him is golden. Twists, turns, catchy melodies, spacey, dark, energetic. Afgin-Shine On Proper morning Goa. Very powerful, insane climaxes, clean memorable melodies. Trinoda sv Judaika-Alien Language Perfect Goa track. There's a strong melody and they keep building on top of it. M-Run-Sons Of The Temple Many twists. You can't guess the whole song by listening the first minute. Plus chord changes. Ephedra-Trip Through The Heart Of The Galaxy Perfect bass. Very energetic. Spacey and badass. Chord changes again. Filteria-Dog Days Bliss Although I prefer Filteria's early albums this track is perfect. This is what I'm looking for. Alienapia-Magic Manigestation Dark with clean melodies and a proper climax. Thanks

All those years a legend was hiding among us.

Two years ago there was a mouse in my house. I tried to find it and throw it away alive, but I couldn't. My parents insisted to use one of those glue traps. One night I heard the noises from the trap and when I turned on the light I saw a baby mouse struggling in the glue. I took the trap, went outside and tried to take it off without hurting it, but it was impossible. I throw it in the garbage bin. Two years later and I still feel sad for that little fella. The thought that he died in agony or eaten alive by cats. Sorry little guy.

I am impressed.
