  1. Sky Input by far! I haven't bought Goasia and Twist Dreams yet
  2. The two letters that make me happy. SA
  3. Seems we have similar taste Great list!
  4. I don't see any reason why to feel strange because you don't enjoy a specific style of music and in our occasion Psytrance. So you dislike Suomi? So what? I don't think there's any reason to force yourself to like it. About Suomi... Well I like it a lot, but definitely sometimes doesn't work. Of course the music is funny, so you have to see it as a joke, but that's not a bad thing IMO. What I don't like in Suomi that much is that sometimes becomes too crazy without a reason. Don't get me wrong I LOVE crazy Psy, but too craziness don't fit in the Suomi style IMO. Also the percussion many times is more than annoyning. Too much drumming and acoustic snares. From the other hand, Suomi is very entertaining, with great melodies and FULL of ideas! About the albums you mentioned: Vishnudata-Dreamforce is a good album. nothing more, but the Villa Ghee People track is already a classic. Sattel Battle-SoundsCool is more freestyle than Suomi, but it's very good album with a superb Goa-ish blaster, Fuck It! Igor Swamp's album is one of the best Suomi releases ever with great ideas and a more serious direction. I haven't listened to the rest yet. Now if you really looking for a superb, serious Suomi album, check out Eraser vs Yojalka-Round 1. THE bomb...
  5. Who knows? But that's the great thing
  6. A painting is also just a piece of canvas with paint on it, but it will always be better than a digital image created in Photoshop.
  7. Haha, Japan hates anything related to Microsoft!!!
  8. Plz tell me that this is not irony. Sorry if I sounded like the ''i know everything'' guy, but I have around 100 different charts about vgames sales. My best friend is a vgames freak and he mail them to me every day! (apparently without a reason).
  9. That's incorrect my friend Trust me I know everything about video games sales. This happening only in some European countries. Still, I believe that will need a solution about this stupid Blu Ray- HD-DVD battle. It's ridiculous. But I do believe that DVD has many-many years of life. That's the last off topic I went, promise
  10. Have you? They're still extremelly dissapointing. The new 40 GB system has boosted the sales a lot, but it's still pwned by the other two consoles in all three big markets. I agree with Daniel about Blu Ray .....and HD-DVD. Most ppl simply don't give a damn about those two products. I know cause I work in a video store. The fact that the industry is half and half is plain ridiculous too. I mean the new Transformers movie has been released only in HD-DVD, can you imagine how bumped the Blu Ray owners would be with that? The same about the Blu Ray exclusively releases. Also, both Blu Ray and HD-DVD offer nothing more that more quality. And more capacity too, but I'm talking about the entertainment features. HD quality means nothing for most movies IMO. Who cares that much about high definition for a movie that's not a special effects festival? I'm not saying that DVD will stay forever, but ppl that thought that Blu Ray and HD-DVD would eliminate DVD in a period of two years are simply arrogant. And here's a tip from a guy that works in a video store. 70% of our costumers have no any idea what Blu Ray or HD-DVD are. You know, I know, but most ppl don't. Sorry, for going off topic
  11. One of the best albums of 2007!!!
  12. We probably have discussed this again, but here are some questions I wanna ask. 1. Do you download music from the web? Any kind of music. How much? How often? 2. Do you download specifically Psytrance releases? 3. Do you think that downloading (and any other forms of piracy) really hurt the music industry? 4. Do you think that downloading (and any other forms of piracy) really hurt the Psytrance industry? 5. Would you like a world that every new album/comp would be released only in the web? ------ 1. Basically yes and no, but mostly no. I'm not that interested to download a bunch of stuff that I'm never gonna listen. So, I only download specific tracks. For example, I like a track from a pop artist. I would never buy his album, maybe the single has never been released so yes I will download this track. The funny thing about downloading today is that many ppl just download and download and download but never listen to that stuff. I know a guy that downloaded all the 18 Goa-Head comps and he can't stand electronic music! So, why did he download them? Just to have them, I guess. Sometimes I download old stuff that they are impossible to find in a store. Possibly only in e-bay or amazon in very high prices. 2. No. They are exceptions though. Yes I downloaded N.D.M.A.-Vitan (a member of this forum uploaded for me). But let's face it, that was the ONLY way to listen to this track. It has been released in a old and rare compilation that practically it's impossible to find. Or an album that it has stopped released many years now. Pleiadians-IFO is the perfect example. It's the most known album in Psytrance history, yet the most difficult to find. But I never download new stuff or stuff I can find, or whole albums/compilations just for a track. After all, with the 4 minutes samples of Saikosounds is extremelly easy to understand the style of a release, so the excuse ''I download to preview it, before I buy it'' doesn't work for me. 3. Yes, but a big part of the music industry needed a lesson. I find extremelly stupid that pop starts like Avril Lavigne and this Timberlake guy gain dozens of million dollars, just because they sing. I don't care if they are idols or sell a lot of tickets in their concerts, it's just ridiculous. It's ridiculous to give 17 euros to buy an audio CD, while a movie DVD costs 20. And why that? Because the ''idols'' want more money. Excuses like ''they have better productions'' and stuff are plain stupid. I have listened to Psytrance cds that have been produced and mastered by only one person and sound ten times better than most of these ''professionally mastered'' stuff. I don't believe that if the new releases would cost 5 or 8 euros cheaper the download would stop, but it would be a win. 4. Yes! And this is the big difference. For me scenes like Psytrance has nothing to do with pop, rock, r'n'b and other maistream stuff, when it comes to piracy. I would happily give 16 euros to buy a Psytrance cd, because I know the effort it's needed to release this stuff. Basically most of Psytrance artists are guys that procude their music in their HOME studios, sometimes they even make the artwork themselves and some new of them they don't even paid, they just get a bunch of cds to give for promotion. I respect that! And yes I would buy their cds. I always found stupid and ridiculous that a million dollars record company like Virgin or Sony cost their cds the same or even more than a small ''two guys runned'' record company like Suntrip. It's like you want to buy a couch and you're going to IKEA and pay the same money with the one of the craftsman of your neigbourhood that actually made this couch himself. It's not my problem that Madonna wants a 20 million dollars check for her new album. I-d-o-n-t-c-a-r-e!!! Bottom line? Yes, downloading IS bad for Psytrance IMO. 5. Hell no! The main reason is that I'm a collector or try to be. And I love having cds or vinyls etc. Just some files in my computer seem to soulless for me. But I have a demand. Why labels that still exist stop releasing their old stuff? For example Dragonfly. It's still running, right? Why don't they re-release IFO? I can't understand that. From the moment you enter Psytrance all you hear is IFO and IFO and this is the rariest album out there! It's insane! Your thoughts/answers?
  13. Pure Psychedelia Melodic Psychedelia Neurotic Psychedelia In Your Face Psychedelia But the winners are...
  14. Hey, that's tasty! It's a very nice track, especially when the full melodies hit the floor. It has a very nostalgic feeling, like someone driving to some old neighbourhoods at midnight... Seriously! The production is raw as you said and sounds more than ok to me. Who cares about compression after all when the music is good? Maybe you must find a way to release your stuff. Even in a digital format. mE iNteRestEd Keep it up!!! :clapping:
  15. Another great track my friend! It's difficult to categorize it as pure Goa, since it's something much more freestyle. I would call it New School Goa with a touch of full on and progressive. That's great you know, cause this kind of music can be appreciated by anyone. I really like the bass, it's very energetic! The spoken samples work very good without be annoying and the break at minute 5 is great. The last two minutes are the best of the track. It becomes really energetic, it moooooves you. About production, it's more than good, not that clear though, but that's not a bad thing in my ears, since it gives to the track an old school-ish feeling. I think it's your best track so far (well of the three I have listened) and of course much-much better than the majority of the tracks released today. We need more Keep it up!!! :clapping:
  16. It's nice, kind of hypnotic. I like the modulated/distorted synth that follows the bass. After the 2:20 minute the track becomes better. The fast sub bass you use there is really nice and the acidic riffs pretty catchy. I will suggest you to add more sounds, since it becomes a bit repetetive after a while IMO. Some flying fx or a pad maybe? But in terms of rhythm it/you has/have potential for more! Keep it up!!! :clapping:
  17. 32 kbps? I will suggest you to upload your tracks in a higher rate that that! About your track now. Well it's totally experimental, I mean you can barely call it Psytrance. But that's not a bad thing or something. It reminds me some Aussie experimental tracks that most ppl hate, but some others love. Your track is dark and spooky, I'll give you that. But it's too small! Why not make 6 minutes track? This can make you work more and will help listeners to see what are you trying to achieve IMO. There are many things in your track in just 3:45 minutes, that eventually it sounds a bit chaotic. But maybe that was your point. I believe that you should continue make music, since your tracks so far are so different than the mass production of todays standard. And what about an ambient track? Your sound would work great in ambient track. Keep it up!!! :clapping:
  18. I used to like it, but those female samples ruined the whole track IMO. Especially, the moment she laughs... brrr, I wanna kill myself. I never liked Shango. But if I had to choose a downtempo/chill from this album I would go for Solaris. The flute gives to it a very melancholic feeling.
  19. I have a question. So far many members haven't edit the posts for Psy and Ambient lists. And probably many won't. Also they are members that own one or two ambient releases, but they manage to be in their top 5. How are you gonna count that? What I mean: Hypothetically I am a member and put this list 1. Psytrance Album 2. Ambient Album 3. Psytrance Album 4. Psytrance Album 5. Ambient Album How are you gonna count? 1=5 points 2=4 points 3=3 points 4=2 points 5=1 point or you're gonna split the top 5 in two different lists one for Psy and one for Ambient like this: 1. Psytrance Album=5 points 2. Psytrance Album=4 points 3. Psytrance Album=3 points 1. Ambient Album=5 points 2. Ambient Album=4 points I'm just curious
  20. That's great list man! And since everyone has different way to categorize thinfs here are some comments/suggestions on your list: -Deep/Floating Melodic Goa Trance and Mainstream Goa Trance could be in the same category, since the borders between them are not that clear. For example where Asia 2001 belongs? -Doof-Let's Turn On although it has many acid moments is not that acidic to be in that subgenre IMO. -Most Greek Uplifting have nothing to do not just with Goa, but with Trance in generl. They are more electronic belly dance. I will suggest you to change Cherouvim with a Cyan, since they are much more Goa-ish. -Like I said many times before Filteria, Khetzal and many other artists are not new school for me, but new artists produce old school Goa (and I don't mean that in a bad way). But I understand that new Goa artists need a new, different sub category. -The Delta-Schizoeffective belongs more to the old School Dark subgenre rather in the old school Progressive IMO. -You could add more sub categories in the Progressive genre, like Dark or Minimal since tech-trance Prog isn't always minimalistic. -I believe you could make two different sub categories for Mainstream Dark Trance. One will contain the Hard sub genre and the other the Dark Madness sub genre (like the one in your old list). For example Neuromotor-Neuro Damage is Mainstream Hard Dark Trance and Crownick-New Sappiens the same. The new wave of extremely crazy Dark Trance could be under the sub genre Mad Dark Trance. -Psy-Core and Horror Trance could be under different categories. Many fast tracks aren't that dark and many Horro tracks aren't that fast. Alos Horror Trance could fit okay in the Dark Madness sub category since most of these tracks are very mad and ...well dark. Also Cosmo ain't Horror and although he has many tracks around 160 bpm is not Psy-Core either IMO. -South African Trance must be in the Full On genre. They used to sound darker, but nowadays the tracks they produce are almost 50% morning and 50% dark. -I just figure that you could have two different old school Psychedelic Ambient sub categories. One for Pure Psychedelic Ambient like Mystery Of The Yeti and one for Goambient, tracks like Astral Projection-Electronic. -Beatless could also be named as Atmospheric, since many of the so called beatless tracks have some soft percussion. But it's okay as it is. -You could add Dark Ambient too, for albums like Audela. -For me Xerox & Freeman are more Goa-ish Full On than Old School Full On, if you know what I mean. The GMS vs Systembusters is a perfect example. -You could add a Hard Full On sub genre. There are many Full On artists that produce hard, aggressive full on that isn't Dark. You could add a Freestyle Full On sub genre for artists like Prodigal Sun or Artifakt (which is more freestyle than the rest South African artists). -Rinkadink belongs to the South African sub genre, which like I said belongs to the Full On genre. -I would call the Psychedelic Trance genre as Freestyle genre, a genre for artists that don't belong anywhere else. -Koxbox-Dragon Tales could be in the Dark Goa sub genre. -Absolum-Wild is 100% Hard Full On IMO, actually it's the first of its kind. -Space Tribe-Heart Beat ain't Dark, but morning. It's closest to Full On IMO, freestyle Full On etc. With best regards, Ormion. I'm curious for the next update.
  21. If more artists do that! Today it's like ''ok sounds kinda cool release it''. So third Filteria album is coming, huh? I just found a reason to live for one more year! Bring it on!!!!!!
