  1. Darshan indeed! Nuage D'Encens yes! From AP I would choose Searching For UFO's
  2. Don't forget to mention your best friend Radi!
  3. Man, you totally understand me! That's exactly what I mean. Yeah LSD is the most popular Psy/Goa track ever but if someone outside the scene listens to it, he will never understand how modern Psy is. And yes modern Psy sucks blah, blah but that's not important! You have to find a track that is between everything, that defines the Psytrance of then and now, if possible! Logic Bomb sound perfect to me. IMO
  4. Good modern Darkpsy: Mad: Cosmo DarkPsy (not his second album that's full on) oCeLoT (not that dark actually) Mubali Datakult Electypnose Forest: Derango Polyphonia Olien The Nommos Really Dark: Xylamanda Matutero Psychoz Catatonic Despair Celsung Ghreg On Earth Neurotic: Psykovsky KinDzaDza Osom Narcosis Noise Gust
  5. Well that's stunning!!! I always thought that Psynews was made by Mars and Children not just Children. And man, Psynews has a biiiigggg history! Yes, we need a Wiki page for sure! edit: Children=Radi?
  6. Hallucinogen-LSD and MFG-Inspiration are classic tracks but they define the old school Psy and not the whole scene, both old and new IMO. Surely LSD sounds modern even today but they aren't anything similar tracks today so it just leaves the new scene out. Like I said it doesn't have to be a track you really like.
  7. Don't worry it's not another 'your fav track ever' topic. It's a topic about which track defines the Psytrance music the most. What I mean: If someone ask you: ''what kind of music do you listen?'' and want for you with ONLY ONE track to describe the whole Psytrance music then which track would be? Here's my thinking: It must be a track that is both Old School (Goa sound) but also has a modern touch. It must be a track that is both Morning and Dark if possible. It must be a track that is both for the mind (tripping) and body (dancing). It must be a track that is psyshedelic in both melodic mayhem (Goa style) and FX mayhem (new style). It must be a track with a big intro, climaxes, start-stops, classic samples and big outro. (classic Psy signatures). And this track is... CHRISTOF DROUILLET & DJ MAEL-KLM Your selection? edit: Don't forget! It's not about a track you like! It can also be a track that you dislike!
  8. I think we have to define what is really new Goa and what Goa produced by new artists. What I mean? Well for me Filteria's music is old school Goa. I don't use the term 'Old School' with a bad purpose, not at all! I don't mean that Filteria is out-dated or something! After all I'm his biggest fan in the world! But Filteria's music really has this old school feeling and touch we used to love, back in the 94-98 period, this is why I call it Old School. New Goa for me is the kind of Goa that actually took the old school sound and evolved it. There's a big discussion what is really new Goa out there. For me the perfect example of new Goa is Pleiadians-Family Of Light (I mean the track, but the whole album is also new Goa). Yes this album released back in 1999 but for me evolved the Goa sound in a very modern (even for today standards) way. I don't say is better than IFO, I'm just saying it was (and still is) new school Goa.
  9. malaka? You just said the right word!!! Now I can't hate you, even if I wanted to. Yes I think we agree, I'm just worried about how much common sense can we really have and keep the reviews section safe and open mindess without ending in a section with every random release of any kind get reviewed here.
  10. I have it, it's good, very dark with some surprising tracks, but this is not a review, right? Anyway I recommend it for sure.
  11. For two pages now I'm trying to say something simple. I'm gonna say it and will be the last thing to post in this thread. First of all I'm not talking about X-Dream or Midi Miliz because they're still Psytrance for me. But if we allowed anything then one day you will wake up, open your PC, browse Psynews and you'll see the new 50 Cent album in the reviews section. That's the way is gonna end. BTW common sense? We're in Psynews for crying out loud! Hugs big guy
  12. It's OK as long is OK to review ANYTHING!
  13. This is exactly what you get from all that I wrote?
  14. You can't count them. They are all money whores!!!!
  15. Look man, you just talk about open mindess. Sorry but this thing does not exist in music! If it was really existed then we wouldn't have genres or sub-genres. Because every music would be everything genre. What's the line between rock and metal? Between rock and punk? Between idm ambient and abstract? Between ska and reggae? Between techno and trance? Between anything? There are no lines! So yes everything is psychedelic! You just gave the perfect example: For you Penta is not psytrance at all, while other guys can't think anything more psychedelic that Penta. We can't make a site about Psytrance with this kind of logic, man! You just talked about Electronic music. What's that? Depeche Mode ain't electronic? A-Ha or OMD ain't psycgedelic in a way? We're gonna end up in site with reviews about anything! We have to draw some lines. Don't ask me who's gonna draw them, but we have to otherwise we'll end up in a Musicnews.com site. BTW Goa evolved in Psytrance, but Psytrance didn't evolve into something. Psytrance is a music genre that contains many, many subgenres simple as that.
  16. Well that's not exactly what I meant. Think the average full on artist today. He is a child with no talent and the only reason his music gets released is because he's a friend with a label owner. The reason this guy produces full on is that because full on today is the most known Psy sub-genre=more money, more fame. If Goa was today the most known sub-genre then this artist would produced Goa and considering that he hasn't any talent at all he would produced crappy Goa! What I mean is: Good artists produce good full on. Bad artists produce bad full on. The problem is that the amount is 1 to 5, even less. Don't blame full on for all these crappy artists-my-ass that produce crappy full on. They would screw any music as well!
  17. So you agree with me that If I want to write a review about Prodigy, Outkast, Avril Lavigne, ATB or Cannibal Corpse I can, as long I believe that all this artists are psychedelic.
  18. I agree. A sidetopic would keep the things balanced and everyone would be happy.
  19. I agree with Buzzman! No one disagrees that most of the full on out there (especially the Israeli style) is pure CRAP but there's great full on out there, like in every genre after all.
  20. I understand what you mean man but if we open the pandora's box, then this site is dead. We'll start with some crazy techno stuff, then some other will add some future shock reviews, then some idm, some crazy electro pop, some weirdo jazz, some black metal with synths, and blah blah we'll end in a site with reviews about anything!!! You really want that? If yes then honestly let's change the site's title.
  21. The last time I checked this site was still called Psynews and not Dancenews or Electronicmusicnews. Anything can be Psychedelic? That's true! So, there's no problem to write the review for the new Madonna album if it's psychedelic to me, right? And that's not sarcasm! Sorry but this site started for a place to talk about Psytrance! Psytrance can be Goa,Full On,Prog,Dark,Suomi,Ambient and everything else but it's still Psy in a way or another. Skazi or Antix are not really Psychedelic but they belong for some reasons in the whole Psy scene. Like Mars said I haven't any problem at all to discuss about any music kind in the general section, but if I want to read House reviews I still have Discogs. Otherwise change the title of this site to Musicnews.
  22. First of all this must be in the General section. Second, it's not full on's fault that crappy artists(?) producing this kind of psy. If Goa was the most known genre today then all of those wannabe artists would write Goa and since they aren't talented, they would write crappy Goa of course. Conclusion? Don't blame the music, blame the artists.
  23. Finally someone said it. I have no problem to read some trance reviews from 1993, but I definitely disagree with reviews about house or techno albums here.
  24. Well, since you're the creator of all this that's the right thing to do. You can add some info that none member really knows, for example the inspiration that led to Psynews etc.
