Aha, I get it! You've never listened a mix by Gil, have you? You can say anything about his skill but he never cut a track in its climax!!!!! No more belly-talk plz! One more thing: the reason it seems he's the only act in a festival it's beacuse his sets last for hours and hours.
-
Of course not anything is black and white but the style he now plays is anything but clubby. You can hate it, you can believe it's stupid but it's not clubby. Define whats a good dj. I already wrote whta a good dj is for me. A dj that only cares about the selections of the tracks and the order to play them. I don't give a damn about the changes!
-
Huhuhuhu edit: Okay that' not mature But really, I hate all this professional djing thing with djs try sooo hard to change from one track to the next one. Who cares? Just put the next track and go grab a coffee. For me what it matters in a dj is his music selection and not how much professional his mix sounds.

The only common between Goa Gil and Raja Ram is that they're both old!
-
I'm guessing that all this harsh talk about him is because he's playing dark music, huh? First of all, he might be the only one in the scene that still sees the music as a spiritual experience and not as a clubby music made for clubby ppl to dance in clubs. Second, his djs skill is awesome. He's one of the few djs out there that have realized that a change between two tracks must not be overlong or overserious. Third, he's an excellent producer. His last album Primal Meltdown is simply superb. Fourth, he doesn't play Goa anymore (unfortunately) but he doesn't play stupid, clubby progressive or full on shit! Goa Gil, Respect!

I hae to choose Melodic, but I also love beatless and of course old school. Actually Old School-Goambient IS melodic but I chose to add an extra option for it.

First I have to disagree with Mars about the second Twisted System album. Different? Yes. Dissapointing? No! IMO. But I don't want to get off topic. Sting is a great album fo sure. After all I can't remember a single album that came from Timecode or Nexus Media that is a dissapointment. But I prefer Twilight Zone more. First of all it was more balanced between dark and morning, crazy and clubby-feeling, aggressive and mellow. Sting is definitely much more morning. I was looking for a bit more power, but not that much because Pitch Hikers was never an intense project. Still this album has great tracks, the trance feeling of the first album is here again and like Mars said they definitely expand their music. Best tracks: Can't Please Everyone (awesome morning psy) & Taste Our Medicine (kick-ass dark stomper). 8.5/10 BTW South Africa was, is and will be awesome. Respect.

What it looks like? It'a boat! Thnxs for the feedback.

Unfortunately this one looks really dark, although it was morning when I took it. Anyway, I liked the red seaweed at the left. Small fish! And that's me!

Here are some photos I took last summer in the sea of Skyros. Unfortunately the quality ain't good cause I used a single use Kodak camera and then I scanned them in my PC. Some of the photos look kind of weird (strange textures etc.), cause I had to edit them in Photoshop to make them as best as possible. Anyway, I hope you like them. This is one of my favorites. Aegean's blue... This is a reef covered with little white seaweeds, that look like a blanket. These rocks look really scary in reality. The guy in the photo (left from centre) is a friend of mine. (I didn't spy anyone!) This one looks like a painting. Infinite sea... Don't be confused by the color. It's real! This is near the bay and these green seaweeds (that look like grass) give to the sea this strange green color. A reef that its top gets out of the surface. Shoal is the english word for that? Can you see that orange thing in the middle? It's a seaweed that floats in the sea. This one looks really strange, almost fake. That's because I had to use a lot of diffusion in Photoshop (the original had really crappy quality). Just some stones. ...

Removing music from samples
Ormion replied to Ormion's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
i'm gonna try it, right now! Thanks! -
I'm sure this thread had been posted again, but I need some help. How to completelly remove the music from a sample? I use EQ and noise filters and although they work great I can't completelly remove the melody and the background noises (at least without the vocals sound horrible). I know it's impossible to remove music from a sample without lose the quality of the vocals, but how professional artists do it? Is there any program or special technique?

Most celestial Goa, Psy (or any genre) song ever
Ormion replied to Jon Cocco's topic in General Psytrance
For me celestial is similar to mind expanding and I don't think you can say that Sinai ain't a mind blowing experience. -
I have to say Distance To Goa although Vol.9 & 10 were horrible! Then Destination Goa series, ranges from superb (vol.5) to just good (vol.9 & 10). Goa-Head, Pulse and TanTrance started really good but they all ended releasing boring German progressive and techno.

Most celestial Goa, Psy (or any genre) song ever
Ormion replied to Jon Cocco's topic in General Psytrance
There is only one track in the world that deserves this title: TALAMASCA-SINAI It's not music, it's the key to heaven's doors... -
Here are some questions I wanna ask Mars & Anoebis about their label. For example: Are the sales of Suntrip's releases going well? Are you dissapointed by the sales so far? Did you except that more Goa fans would pick up Suntrip's cds? Are you surprised by the sales so far? Are they bigger than you expected? Are the Suntrip's releases popular only to old Goa lovers or there are new Psyheads that indroduce theirselves to Goa with your cds? How ppl around the world regard your label? As an exciting Goa revival or as a label out of dated? How old artists feel about your label? Do they support it? Do they think it's a label that releases ''dead''music? Do they care? Do they know that Suntrip exists? (I'm talking about the old, famous artists that produce full on or progressive now). Did the Dimension 5 reissue sell well?

Thanks for the kind words guys! All the pics have been made with Photoshop and Poser for the 3D elements.

I've only heard samples from this album but I agree that this is one of the 5 best dark psy albums ever!

Here's the story: I recently bought the new Twisted DVD and it included interviews, one of them from Simon Posford. Like I said many times I'm not a big fan of his music and for some reason I always thought he has this celebrity kind of attitude. But after I watched him on this DVD I realize that this guy is one of the coolest in the face of the earth! He was smiled all the time, he was funny and he looked kind of shy too. I haven't met any artist in person (just some local DJs) but here are some artists I've heard they're really cool. Astral Projection (always smile, always talk to fans etc.) Shift (a guy that met him, told me he's a very kind person) KinDzaDza (freak of nature ) Post the ones you met Good and bad!
