Visual tracks! Tracks that give you a certain image, not synaesthesia! A scene, a place, even a short film! Some of my visual tracks: Sundog-Shatterbox This track must be named as 'Alien Abduction'! Since the very first time I've listen to it, I had a certain scene in my mind. Midnight, a field in nowhere, a flying saucer and an abduction. Alien, scary, dark track. sssspooky... Sundog-Touch The Sun Sundog again! This track gives me the image of ancient Egypt. Yep, it sounds like an Egyptian track but I have more of them and none of them gives me that scene. Sand, lot of sand, pyramids, pharaohs and sun! Twisted System-Mad Method The 'synaesthetic colors' of this track is red and black, but there is more. This track gives me the image of a twisted, dark comic, similar to Sin City. Not a specific story but reading a Sin City book very fast! I can see the pages! Also, I 'see' some blood graffities in walls! Strange huh? OSOM-Over Game Actually this is a whole black & white movie. A guy in a strange building, a big boss with his idiot servants in a floor, a party in another floor, an old radio... Forget it, it's too big and strange to describe it, but here's a clue. Remember a spot of PS2 with a guy in some dark corridors, seeing strange stuff and at the end there was a guy with a duck's head saying 'Welcome to the third place'? Well, something like this! Another V-tracks: Astral Projection-People Can Fly, Pleiadians-Family Of Light, Twisted System-Disrespekt, KinDzaDza-Dasty Ho,Christof and Mael-KLM, Ubar Tmar-Eternal Return, Unitec & Reverse Psychology-Witch, Johann Bley-Ghostride and many, many, many more. So, tell me yours and what you 'see'.

Some of them are club shit, but some of them are 100% Psy-Trance! Hypersonic is full on but he has nothing to do with Psy-Trance! Twisted System are full on, but they are extremelly psychedelic!

Problems after exporting in Cubase SX
Ormion replied to Ormion's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Thanks again guys! I'll try your suggestions. -
Almost all. Although I love some genres more than others I'm ready to listen to everyting as ong as is good.
-
Both! Now really this is a very-very difficult question but I have to choose Astral. You'll see both of them are (or used to be) Gods, but Astral have more super-ultra classics tracks.
-
The answer is: after the release of his third album. I agree that his first album is very good, just like the second one. For example Last Man In The Universe is one of the best melodic track after the Goa period.

Problems seem to never end Ok, I've made a track with Cubase SX and then I try to export it. Here is the first problem: I export it as WAV file but none of my players (Media Player 10 and Music Match 9) can read the WAV file. Well, this is strange cause both of the players support WAV files and I have some tracks in WAV files and they're played with no problem. I tried every parameter and all the other stuff in the export window (to be honest I can tell the difference) but none of the exported WAV files work. Why? Problem No2: Since I can't export as WAV, I choose mp3. I select the best quality 320kbps but the volume of the exported file is way too low compared to the others mp3's. (The one I rip from the cd's). Why? Is it because I export it as mp3? Is there any way to solve this problem and have a higher volume track? When the tracks played by Cubase the volume is ok. Also I tried to volume every VST instruments to the max but the exported mp3 stills sounds too low. Any ideas?

I bought a few days ago the Orchid album by this guy... And I'm amazed!!! This is maybe one of the best ambient albums ever. Beatless, atmospheric, melancholic, beautiful! But the thing I enjoyed the most in this album is the ''images'' that gives to my mind when I'm in the doorstep of sleep. What I mean? Well ''the doorstep of sleep'' is the moment when you're between awareness and sleep. It's a 'border' very special, cause you can have amazing 'hallucinations' of all type (all senses) but at the same time you're aware of them. I listen to ambient every night when I'm in bed (it helps me to relax cause I suffer from semi-insomnia ) and I have these kind of experiences very often. Well Ishq gave me the most spectacular 'images' of all. Beautiful gardens, with a peacefull green light, birds and waters. Awesome!!!! TRY IT! I know that Ishq has a new album. Is it that good?

Artifakt kicks ass! Intelligent music. Weird kicks, weirder bass, great melodies! Looking forward for it!

Cubase SX problem-Pan doesn't work
Ormion replied to Ormion's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
There's a difference? I guess there is! I'm gonna try it out!!! Thanks! -
I don't compare Shift's style with Derango's. I said that Tumult is the best DARK album of 2005 and second best album (generally) after Excession. As for the ''candy-rave-full on'' I guess you haven't listen to Cerebral Cortex yet. Me too. What I said was: ''I you like ONLY melodic Psy, you can't judge fairly Tumult''

VST instruments for Psy production
Ormion replied to Ormion's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Thanks for the replies guys! I'll check them out (well the cheapest of them ) -
The tracklist looks odd! AP and CPU together!? No PC to download it but it looks promising

I think that the most emotional melodies of all time are very simple. For example in classical music there are many difficult melodies, but the melody of Beethoven's Ode To Joy is the most emotional of all of them. And Ode To Joy has a very simple melody. I think it's the same with Psy. An emotional melody doesn't have to be complicated or difficult and a complicated melody doesn't have to be emotional. As for Hallucinogen... well he was never my favorite artist but the last minutes of LSD are very, very emotional, beautiful, trippy and melancholic. Give a try to Doof-Sunshrine intro. No words again.

Can you recommended some VST instruments (synths, drums etc.) with sounds great for Goa/Psy? What about Hallion?

Cubase SX problem-Pan doesn't work
Ormion replied to Ormion's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Yep, everything is ok with the ''R'' button and Automation works perfectly with the other parameters like volume or transpose. The mystery is that I discovered that pan works with the Neon and cs40 instruments but not with a1,vb1 and JX16. Another problem: Volume Automation doesn't works with the drum instruments! -
One of the best moments in music history and I'm not kidding about it. The last melody of this track is ....<no words for it>.

Let's say that I wanna be a Psy artist. What I need the most? I voted for imagination. I think musical skills is very important but if the artist has no imagination at all then he goes bananas. An example. There are thousands musicians in the world who can play great piano. They can play any Motzart or Beethoven song but can they write that good? Do you think that Motzart wrote such amazing music because he was a great player or because he had unbelievable imagination? Especially in Psy, imagination is the most important IMO. The same with the equipment. Yep, good production means more freedom and creativity but there are many unbelievable tracks produced by crappy equipment (MFG-New Kind Of World for example). Vote plz edit: it's musical education not muscial

I love all the tracks in this album. Disco Mushroom, The Shen, Mush Mushi etc. Excellent!!! But Dracul and Bust A Move are U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E.

V/A - Purple Energy [Unicorn Music]
Ormion replied to amphiton's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Well these are good news! Looking forward for it! -
Nice comp. Melodic Full On but different from the usual crappy style. Rastaliens/Braincell tracks are good but compared to other masterpieces by them (The Secret Side for example) are less good. Yudhisthira,Imaginary Sight,Imaginary Trold are all good tracks. Trold tracks are very good too but the panning of the sounds is a bit annoying (try listen Boloonia with headphones to see what I mean). Naked Tourist is very good, different from other tracks by them, less dark but still hard. Fractal Glider track is totally dissapointing. Boring, almost minimal clubby Full On. Let's hope to stay to his old style and not go to the cheesy side. 7.5-8/10

10/10 Dracul and Bust A Move are two of the best tracks ever.

Exactly what I was expected! Intense, chaotic, insane, forest psychedelia. Before you bash this album think three things: 1)If you only like melodic or less hard tracks you'll never gonna like Tumult. So, telling that Tumult is bad just because you dislike their style is kinda wrong IMO. 2)You have to listen to this album under the right circumstances. Listening Tumult in a morning while drinking your coffee is not the best way to understand this kind of music. Go for a walk in a forest at midnight time and you'll realise why Derango is such a hell of a group. 3)Give yourself time to understand this album. Even myself, a great Derango fan didn't blown away the first time I listened to it. Although I hate this phrase I'm gonna say it ''Let it grow in you''. So, Tumult is the best dark album of 2005 the second best album after Shift's Excession and super-psychedelic music. Best tracks are 2,3,7,8,9 but the rest are great too (only Deranged is less intense for a Derango track). 9/10 cause I wanted more melodic lines like the ones in Sluggy or No Thing. AMAZING!!!!!

Damn... the Sunspot album was awesome, but I know they're more full on nowdays...
