Some others masters of the genre: Ray Castle,Tristan,Moog-Spectral and GNOTR. And not forget Goa Gil! Ok he wasn't an artist back then, but he's a master for sure.

''I only know the album "International Herb in Dub" from Ganja Beats on Kinetix Recordings. Is that on Organic Records the same or a other one?'' It's the same. Jake was behind Kinetix records.

Has anybody listen to this project? He just released an album in Organic records. I listened some samples and it's really odd. Psy-ambient with dub and reggae influences! Some tracks sound really good, although I dislike dub stuff. BTW Ganja Beats is Jake Stephenson, the man behind projects like Shamanic Tribes On Acid, Mantra, Super Skunk etc. You may think that his dance projects are crap (and maybe you're right) but his ambient works are AMAZING!!! His ambient projects are Alien Mutation,Dr.Psychedelic and Optic Eye (together with J.Hinton) among others. Optic Eye-Anacoluthon is still the most mind-travelling ambient track ever made. I will give my left kidney for a new Optic Eye album. (They have released two, but they're extremely rare) And not to be forgotten: Jake passed away some months ago Rest in peace dude and thanks for the journey. Anyway if anybody knows something about Ganja Beats plz tell me.

''that's odd... to me "dark trance" (the way Parvati and Goa Gil defines it) can't be enjoyed if you don't feel that bone-rattling bassline drone. So listening to it on a wimpy headphone has like 0 value to me... '' Hehe. Well my headphones are not something great and I don't use megabass but keep in mind that I walk in lonely places and night, so there aren't any noises around and the music sounds really loud.

Agree in most of the artists you mention guys and I have to add Pete Martin. He released two great albums one with K.Kylvien UX-Ultimate Experience and one solo Slide-Unstable. What is great about Pete is that he was years ahead from his era in music production. Sarurnalia for example was written back in 1997 and it sounds like a 2005 track.(I'm talking about production here) The same with Koxbox. BTW here are the true Masters Of The Genres for me in alphabetical order. Astral Projection Etnica Hallucinogen Infected Mushroom Transwave X-Dream I don't like much X-Dream or Simon but they're masters for sure!

Future Beats Of Cool Music. Dozens of compilation, supposed to be Goa, but it's Ethno-Trance. (Although one track I've heard was really Goa-ish)

''Its in your mind, just the way you see it.I have a background of 9 years in dark music.Im used to it and i enjoy it.But dark music is not scary.Dont see it this way, especially dark psychedelia is too deep to be scary, being scared is a stupid feeling.I dont see any reason to be scared if someones touches the dark side of mine in a fine way.I like it and i enjoy it,i also feel happy.'' You know what I'm mean by saying scary, right Gnome? I don't mean I run like crazy, shouting for help or shit on me. It's the feeling you mention. Difficult to describe it nad yes I like it too!

I see a lot of topics about dark, scary Psy lately, so I came up with this question. Which is the way you enjoy dark & spooky psy trance? You prefer to stay at home? to be in a festival somewhere in the forest? do you use drugs for better ''result''? I'll say my experience and the reason I make this thread. One of the things I like to do is to take my discman and walk while listening Psytrance. Last Sunday I took my discman with the dark mp3-cd that I have made and I went for a walk. It was around 11:00 pm. I prefer to walk in lonely streets and that night I realised that there is nothing better for dark psy from a lonely, dark street!!! You see dancing in a party is good but for me the best way to enjoy scary music is to be alone! And if the place is scary itself (and those streets were really scary)then the music transforms and the whole experience is Of course you have to listen to the right music too. If you dare take your discman, put Para Halu-Snake It Easy or The Delta-Thing and walk in a lonely place around midnight! It's fucking awesome! Of course the best place to walk in night is a forest, so if you live near to one, try it! (Alternative place-a beach. Some lonely beaches are really scary in night.)

I think it's time to stop this fool-on stuff or something. If someone enjoys Full On it's ok with me, and yes I don't like Atmos or Son Kite either. So, what? Like Tatsu says, different ppl, different tastes.

10/10 easily. Nuage D'Encens is one of the best (and most intense) tracks ever made.

Very good!!! Trippy, melodic and GOA. All of the tracks are great. Even it had been released back in 1997 it would still be great. Avigmati track is really crazy. The Lost Buddha track is very good (the bassline reminds me the Age Of Love) Ka-Sol dark and trippy. Filteria always perfect Ypsilon 5 intense. Radical Distortion very good, reminds me the old AP. Gr8 stuff. 9/10

You miss the whole point E.P. Music is about emotions and you got to know that fear is an emotion as well. (and like H.P.Lovecraft said, the strongest of the emotions) Psy trance is the best music kind for scary music with all these strange sounds psy artists can create. I love peacefull, happy and beautiful tracks but I love dark, scary stuff as well. This is the problem with movies too. Ppl believe that a horror film can't be good because it larks of emotions. Fear IS an emotion. Of course it's ok if you don't like this stuff, that's another thing

Scary stuff! And I love fear in music. Great release(+great cover)
