I think people call this UK psytrance or UK full on.I personally call it Doof style from the Israeli label. AFAIK it doesn't have a "official" name yet.

Twilight releases are psytrance with many melodies. Maybe not the melodies you're looking for though. They're usually simplier, less epic, but cathcy neverthless. For example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hD4-Be25j8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yTXmjyM12w

Well there are people who love Forest and Darkpsy, but hate Hi-Tech. Or others like me who love Twilight, but not Full On. So I guess it makes sense to have some basic subgenres. After all Psytrance is pretty diverse today. Metal has 30-40 subgenres, Rock the same.

I guess the reason Psyshop is doing that is because the last years they also sell Progressive Trance and House. I don't mean the Progressive Psytrance, just pure Prog Trance and House. Another truth is that Progressive Psytrance was always on the edge of the Psytrance field. One foot was already in the Trance, Techno, House territory. Since the last years Progressive Psytrance has became even more commercial and clubby it's very difficult to tell a Psy Prog vs a normal Prog. Back in the old days you had artists like S>Range or Human Blue that had a Progressive sound, but more psychedelic that normal Prog. Today AFAIK they are a rarity.

Some more Oforia-Let It Beat Huge dissapointment. Basically morning psytrance with hints of progressive by a Goa legend. Thank God for the amazing remix of Alien Pump. Shift-Dirty Signal Crushingly dissapointing. One great track and a bunch of mediocre electro inspired twilight ones. The first track has singing by Shift as well. Astral Projection-Amen Well duh. Not a bad album at all, but not on par with AP brilliance. Eraser vs Yojalka-Tarinat Again not a bad album, but too groovy and freestyle compared to the masterpiece Round 1. Hydraglyph-Euphonics Highly awaited album for me that ended up in tears. Trashlords-Made In Goa The definition of huge dissapointment. What the hell happened?

So I was reorganising my collection and I remembered this cd. It's from a german label called Future Beats that released a shitload of low quality goa cds. I used to see them all the time at big record stores. I only bought that out of curiosity and it was indeed a big pile of crap. There's also Ingmar Veeck aka the man with the most aliases ever and creator of every single track in his label compilations. Rumour records released a lot of low quality goa cds as well with many tracks by Jake Stephenson (RIP), another artist with million aliases who was a legend in ambient, but pretty crappy in dance tracks. You can say Hypnotic also belong in this category, but at least they had some great releases (but shady business). Any other examples?

I miss Tim Schuldt's music.

I agree about Back To Space. His compilation tracks were pure powerful Goa, but his album way too floating. M-Run album was great, what are you talking about? About IM I saw it coming tbh. B.P.Empire was good, but not on par with the first two albums and Converting Vegetarians was mediocre.

For me is definitely Nitrox. I was new in the scene back then, but I already adored Etnica/Pleiadians. Actually they were a major reason why I became a goa fan in the first place. I wasn't visiting any psy forum, I only discovered psynews a year later so I had no idea about a new album or how it sounds. I just saw it one day on the cd store shelf. Needless to say when I went home and listened to it my heart shattered. I was expecting full power melodic madness and I got minimal techno with no melodies. The fuck? Thank God the downtempo tracks were great otherwise I would have burned that shit.

Fantastic album. Smug and Right Off are masterpieces.

I guess because of the whiteness? They're more prominent when looking at bright, plain surfaces.

Do floaters getting worse with age? Are they gonna multiply?

I never get the idea behind political parties. Isn't it better to have a parliament of individuals instead of groups? Humans tend to have a more crowd psyshology when belonging to a group which leads to less ideas and opinions. Here in Greece we have 300 person parliament. You'd expect to have 300 different opinions, but we only have 6 as many as the parties. Even worse if someone disagrees with the official party line they remove you from the party completelly. So democratic.

You know them. That annoying shapes you see when watching the sky. They're harmless and normal and apparently everybody gets them as you getting older, some more than others. I have them and since I'm myopic they seem to be worse. I never actually cared about them, but the last year I kind of have a hypochondriac period and things I used to ignore now bug me. So I'm now having my floaters period. I see them everywhere especially when I'm looking at bright and monochromatic surfaces. They're really annoying and you can't fix them, only with a very risky surgery that no doctor recommend. Of course when I stop thinking about them I rarely notice them.

No mention of Sky Input yet.

Slide was really ahead of his time. His production was superb and his tracks were pure dark psytrance/goa at its best. My two favourite tracks by him are Saturnalia and The Search. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TZFVY3ZoOQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKELFLuDoAE

There's nothing wrong with old Filteria.
