Back then as a child I used to wake up as early as I could in weekends and had a cartoon marathon. Good old days. They started with more kiddy stuff, followed by action packed cartoons and the last one was the Power Rangers show! Unfortunately today there's no cartoons in greek channels anymore. wtf? Some of my absolute favourites: Thundercats Transformers Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles GI-Joe Silverhawks X-Men Batman-The Animated Series Spider-Man (The 90's one)

I guess you must have to remember what your first post was about. At least that's how I found it.

There is not a single music genre that a part of it (most of the times the biggest part) hasn't gone more commercial and low quality. It happened in every EDM style, it happened in Rock, Metal, Classic, Jazz, Hip Hop, every single one. It's something you can't avoid. Things could be worse like Dubstep. All you have to do is to avoid all the crap and concentrate on the good ones. Thank God good psytrance still exists.

I haven't listened to it yet, but I love BSF music. Mainly because his music is not following the newschool formula.

You know based on the samples it doesn't sound that bad...for a Trance release. Why name it Psychedelic Trance when it's not? Just name it Trance and everyone is happy. I'm not interested in this happy-fluffy style, but I heard worse things than that to be honest. It really saddens me though seeing how Lestat has fallen. He used to be my idol 10-13 years ago. He has written some of my all time favourite tracks (including my all time favourite).

Just for the record I love it.

First two minutes are ok, but after that it gets boring. 3.5/10

That's also entirely incorrect by the way.

I'm not that much into drugs, but I have a very hard time to believe that when an artist sits down to write a track he's thinking about what kind of drughead his audience is. Just because some tracks sound better under an influence of a specific drug (for example ketamine works better with darkpsy like you claim) that doesn't mean that this kind of music is written to appeal to the specififc drug users.

I don't mean that. I meant the satanic part.

Here's an absolutely superb track that I always post for those who think that it's just noises. We have debunked this argument like a billion times before.

Ok, that's awesome!

Ok after Darkpsy and the interesting discussion it provided it's time for another 'misunderstood' genre. Based on this thread it seems that most of you don't care much about it. I know a couple of members that love it, but only a couple. To be honest I always found strange that Suomi is not more popular with Goaheads, since IMO during the Goa absence period (2000-2004) it was the perfect alternative to it. This time it comes with a poll!

I highly doubt that what drugs are you using have anything to do with what music do you listen to. I have friends who smoke pot and listen to greek pop music and I've met guys that take LSD while listening to New Metal. I think you overestimate the influence of drugs in psytrance. I highly-highly-highly doubt that festivals plan their line ups by taking account what drug is 'hot' at the moment. BTW wich festivals rely on darkpsy acts? The only ones I know are the ones that have exclusively a dark-ish line up. Otherwise most big, long festivals rely almost exclusively on full on and prog.

Psycore and Hi-Tech is basically the same thing. Some people call it Psycore, some others call it Hi-Tech, some others just darkpsy (basically it's darkpsy with extra speed and effects). I like it a lot as long it's not too fast=more than 170-175 bpm.

You mean the shit.

I just listened to Manju yesterday. It's similar to Glowing Flame records style. It's full on with goa elements and a touch of forest. It reminds me of Yudhisthira and Imaginary Sight only less melodic. It's good, nothing that blew my mind though.

I've tested toothpaste and banana peels and both did nothing at all.

I don't consider Tryambaka as darkpsy. For me he's 100% Twilight and yes he's awesome. If you like his musIc check also Sick Addiction (Tryambaka+D_Maniac)

Below 160? I'll list albums only Psykovsky-Debut/Da Budet (Tanetsveta is even better but faster) DarkPsy-Fear The Nommos-Primal Meltdown Kindzadza-Waves From Inner Space/Insoluble (Nano Ninja is the best but again faster) Para Halu-The Future Sound Of Para Halu Polyphonia-Beyond The Ocean Of Time Baphomet Engine-Baphomet Engine 2 Psychoz-2012 No Return

That I agree. After all darkpsy is not a fx contest. The idea is to create effects that will enhance the trip, not just throw them in randomly in the song. I think though that the really talented darkpsy artists are not like that and spend many hours trying to create the perfect song, not just a bass and add some fx all over it.

^Superb track^ The whole Debut album is amazing. @ Padmapani The question that Darkpsy is easy to made is something that only the artists themselves can answer. Do you really believe that the Derango track I posted can be made in 3 hours? AFAIK there's no magic-button vst that creates fx when you want it and even if there's one you still need to edit, eq and arrange them. Have you ever heard a Kashyyyk track? Do you really think it can be made in a day?

lol man we are the same!!! Check this thread. It's a similar thread I made a couple of years ago. You see this? I also chose Frequency Deluxe.

For me it's the other way around. I'm a huge darkpsy fan, but I don't really go to darkpsy parties. I find darkpsy really difficult to dance to. Then why I'm listening to it? I think it's the best music for mindfucking. And that works better when you're alone than while hanging with others. I also don't like when the bass is too powerful in the parties and that goes for every music. I remember in a Psykovsky party all I could listen was the bass and none of the other sounds. Bummer. Also darkpsy and all dark music is better suited for open parties than clubs. (Although that applies to all psytrance genres). Like I said in the other thread I find darkpsy a really introvert genre. I prefer to listen to it in my mp3 player while walking in the city at night. It gives me an isolation feeling. It's very eerie.

Are you me or something? That's exactly my thoughts. Yes his second album is very good too. It's more twilight than darkpsy, but still awesome. And yes FM Amount is my favourite as well. It's totally amazing. I have him as friend in facebook and I think he stopped writing music for years. I think he's back in the field again. I will ask him if he cooks something. His music is the definition of underrated for me. Glad to see another fan here!
