1. If you were before 2004 then probably your post is under a guest_radi nickname or something.
2. Only the off topic is, you can still find old threads in the general section.
3. Oh man I just discovered my first post here. I had the X nickname back then. http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php/topic/10595-gmstrack-id/?p=79492 Some of my latest posts were some killargh comments.
4. I renamed the title to 'crying samples...' since many members (including me) would think this is about you crying while listening to ambient and trance.
5. Regarding track 39 like I said above there are 3 versions of the track
6. Not the best track by BU. The melodies are a bit too 'trancy', but still nice 7/10
7. That's some ridiculously large sunglasses.
8. 13 points. Better than expected if you consider the fact that I don't listen to full on or prog.
9. Phonokol was. IIRC Transient just did the disrtibution in certain areas.
10. Procyon I'm glad that you mentioned Japan. Apart from Prana and Jikooha most of the japanese psy acts tend to be more quirky, something that reflects the culture. Brazilian psy is too energetic either is full on or darkpsy. Mexico as well. Compare the mexican darkpsy to the swedish one. The first is highly energetic while the latter is more mysterious. You can also see that mediterranean countries have a strong focus in 'big' melodies. There's a connection here.
11. No I fully agree. I believe that artists from sunny countries produce more melodic tracks than countries with cold climate. Personally I find that the sunny weather creates an euphoric melodic feeling while the cold seasons a more dark approach. Since Greece is sunny most of the time I have a soft spot for melodies like most Greek I believe. Vegetation also plays a part. When I'm in holidays I always create music in my mind that goes with the enviroment, either is a beach or a forest.
12. One thing that I have noticed all these years is that certain countries have certain 'sounds'. For example Israeli scene has a much more focus in melody both then and now. Scandinavian countries have a darker sound either is dark psytrance, goa or progressive. UK was highly psychedelic back then. Germany has a more dry sound and USA more freeform. South Africa and Finland have their own unique sounds. Of course there are exceptions to the rule. For example there are artists from Germany that are highly melodic, but the majority follows the rule IMO. The question is if you believe that a certain country or culture affects the music or it's just a trend that everybody follows? For example why Sweden has a darker approach? Is it because of the climate or the psychology of Swedish people or did they follow the scene? Why South African psytrance is powerful? Does it related to the people that live there or artists are just inspired by some pioneers?
13. Radi, Richpa already did that thread two weeks ago and you replied as well. Anyway to answer your question it's Ambience. I know many people don't like that much, but I absolutely love it.
14. These three are pure powerful psy with indian-ish melodies.
15. I think this is the best Suntrip compilation to date. Apart from the Mindsphere track which is the typical neogoa track that goes and goes and leads to nowhere the rest are pretty good. I'm happy to see less floaty tracks here, we need more edge and this release is a step to the right direction.

tetrahedron

It's the one with the radi seal of approval?
17. Androneda is my all time favourite ambient album.
18. I saw some love for his music in Psynews recently. Do you like his music or used to like it? I have 4 of his 8 albums. Robotic Tongue and Sacred Scars are very good. Weird Sound Generator has some nice tracks, but his last one Dark Nebula and The Psionic Renegades was cheesier than expected. My favourite tracks by him are: Vulcanized In Rubber (really eerie) Forces Of Chaos (with Hacker) Delicious (with Twisted System) Zone Stalker and of course this monster http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILiKxhV86C4
19. ^I wouldn't call them rolling^ Another one from the bass master http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHZU1RV2ZXU
