These must be the only E-Mantra tracks that I like. They are slightly darker and colder than the usual. If only he decided to put more variation in his tracks. The Suufi Astrolab tracks are interesting, but not my cup of tea.

+1 I think that new school left out all the psy and kept only the goa.

Actually I prefer the natural movement that dual analog sticks provide. The mouse is way to sensitive and more frenetic. Of course it always depends on the game. Some FPS are made exclusively for consoles and the developers based the entire gameplay on gamepad controls. For example Killzone which has a heavier movement would move ridiculous on pc.

If it was just the singing it would be okay. If it was just the music it would be okay too. But the combination of those too is horrible.

Spiritualism and drugs in the psytrance scene
Ormion replied to djmaxfactor1995's topic in General Psytrance
Same here. I prefer my psytrance to be 100% electronic. I was talking about the Goa melodies and how eastern they sound. What I meant is that when I read in a cd promo 'Oh Namah Shivaya', Trancedance experience, mind expansion, dance with shiva and all that I don't take them literally. For me it's a symbol of Goa. The same with aliens, sci-fi, fractals, drugs etc. I personally don't think that Goa artists connect their music with Hunduism as part of a religious experience. They just do it because it...looks cool I guess. For example I have used a drug sample in one of my tracks although I don't use drugs. Why I did it? It fits the track. The same way shiva fits in a Goatrance cover. Why hate you? It will be an honour. -
You just met the first one.

According to that logic I don't like any of the new music, movies, books, comics, video games, computer programs. So I will download them all. I don't like them, so no one can accused me for being a leech, right? The idea of 'I don't like something, so I won't pay for it' is the same with 'I don't like that chocolate, so I will steal it'.

Spiritualism and drugs in the psytrance scene

You got a deal. -
What? FYI information you can't download from youtube. You can by using illegal software. This is completelly different. Youtube ain't no different than MTV. You tune in and watching the videos. Downloading the videos though is considered piracy. And no I'm not preaching. Do whatever you want. Also soundcloud is different. When you upload a track on souncloud you have the option to make it downloadable. You decide, you the uploader, you the artist. BTW great way to support the scene.

Spiritualism and drugs in the psytrance scene
Ormion replied to djmaxfactor1995's topic in General Psytrance
It seems that you're looking to much into stuff. The whole hinduism thing in Goa it wasn't about real religious experiences. It's a symbol. Most underground music genres have symbols. Metal has satan, anti-christianity in general. Industrial has this mechanical, post apocalyptic theme. Goth has vampires and black stuff in general. Goa/Psy has/had Hinduism, aliens, sci-fi, fractals etc. I've met many guys that listen to Psy/Goa that don't believe in aliens, but feel that the whole alien theme suits the music. It's the same with Hinduism. Goa started in India, many melodies have eastern feeling I don't see what's bad with that. Now if you're talking about real religious experiences while lisetening to Goa. Once again I think you're trying too much. I bought a cd recently that says in the promo that this music will take you beyond our world, in the far edge of the universe. Did it take me there? Literally no. But does it bother me? No. Cause I know that I'm holding a cd and not a scaceship. What Goa Gil says about trancedance experience and stuff ain't much different than this promo. It's a cool thing to say/write, but you don't have to take it literally. When I promoted my ep I said that get ready to expand your mind. It's cheesy, but appropiate for a trance music IMO. You say that the use of Hinduism is a mockery to the followers of that religion. How exactly? It seems more to me like an opportunity for someone to explore hinduism more than mockery. -
It's really, really fun cause it matters how you kill your enemies. The first two stages look like some generic FPS, so I guess why from the demo may look boring. But after that the game becomes insane and feels more like pinball than FPS. I don't like Epic BTW

Indeed. The facial animations are beyond belief. But it has many flaws. The biggest being the fact that the cases are solved themselves. Plus the city is really boring. No idea why they made it a sandbox game.

I finished Bulletstorm which was ridiculously fun and I started L.A. Noire which is cool, but overrated.

Haha Anyway as I said before my biggest complain with newschool is all this floatiness. What it has to be so floaty? All these pads, all these melodies that come and go and you find dufficult to focus to. What about the old times when a catchy melody dominated the whole track? http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROI1W3Lgqbs Three main melodies right in your face!

I really don't get what are you trying to say. That the whole Hinduism trend in Goa is something that killed the scene or something?
