No correlation sorry. I know people who barely touch alcohol and make more mind altering music than anything by today's 'cid drinking dark psy producers. Sorry, the music comes from the mind and not anything else. Yes, most of the psy producers had psychedelic experiences, yes, without LSD there would be no Beatles (unless you call their pre-LSD music worthy) no Jimmy Hendrix, no Pink Floyd and certainly no Psy Trance or Goa. But, there are artists that don't.

Hands down he released the best chillout album of 2004. I like his mix of cold and dry sounds with warm and emotional melodies. This contrast is what makes him sound so unique.

It's better to write about artists that didn't do Acid. That would be very short list. But i seriously doubt that their music lacks psychedelia. Names like Erez Aizen, Frank Zappa, Avi from Astral Projection has diabetes, so he shouldn't really experiment with drugs (or so he said in an interview). Some artists that i know personally also don't touch psychedelic. I know several that even don't touch alcohol. Of course you can. I am really disappointed to hear about it.
