man.... all you guys with your opinions on minimal. x-dream is not minimal. for petes sake. atmos is minimal son kite is minimal m.o.s. is minimal. x-dream is more tech-trance...which has nothing to do with minimal. the delta - tech spirallianz - tech. if its almost all percusion its tech-trance...not minimal.

well.... being a big fan of minimal its not dead. its just not every album that comes out. which is better in my opinion. there was too much crap minimal coming out...now maybe the ones that do come out will be worth hearing cuz all the crappy artists gave up, and now only the good ones are left. although i will admit...the new spirallianz is a freaking disaster. im sooo disapointed in that thing. the new ticon is pretty worthless also. i havent heard the new shiva chandra yet...ill keep my fingers crossed for that one......and wait patiently for a new son kite release.

well i dont really know exactly what groups will interst you, but..... when i first started listening to psy i was in the same situation...there are a lot of groups and many different styles of goa/psytrance. this is what i did, and maybe it will help you: i listened to streaming psytrance radio stations on the internet. i would listen all the time and every time i heard a song i liked i would write down the artist who made it. i would then go check out those artists. then after that you you can look at other bands on the same label as the ones you liked...a lot of times all the artists on a particular label will have a similar style. the more you listen the more you will get to know. here are the names of some good psytrance radio stations philosomatika powershout psyradio pschadelik theres a link to one on the psynews home page here. hope that helps some. good luck

i posted this in off topic as well...sorry for the double post but i want as many people to see this as possible ok, i may have a line on a venue for a weekly or bi-weekly night a small club on long island. my question is: are there any people here who would be interested in such a thing? i would be looking for dj's, artists, and deco/visual people. also im looking to get an idea of if people would even go to such a thing. it would be during the week though as i wont be able to get the place on a weekend. like i said...its a small club, so we dont need a lot of people in there to make it good. even 40 - 50 people would make the place feel pretty full. it is large enough to have live acts play though. its not that far from the city...maybe 35- 40 mins tops. and the long island rail road stops within walking distance...although it might seem a little far in bad weather. i have not brought it up with the cub owners yet...i wanted to put some feelers out first before i bothered them with the idea. i make no presumptions as this being something to rival tsunami or omni tribe....but it would be something to do on a regular basis that wont be expensive. i dont want admission to be any more than 5 or 7 bucks, although given the lack of alcohol consumption at psy events i dont know that ill be able to meet that particular goal. anyway...any coments or input people have would be greatly appreciated. thnx everyone.

ok guys..... ive been going to tsunami for years. and up until this past year it was great...i mean realy excelent. for some reason the past year or so tsunami cant do anything right....i dont know why. too bad synthetic-sadhus is no more. anyways...if you hated the last tsunami...it served you right...you knew astral was playing. thats why i didnt go. go to omni tribe from now on.

you also have to select the solo sample button. (i think..im new to reason but thats what did it for me) its one of the little red ones in the top of the sampler...actualy its the lone on the right. and make sure to have the volume up on the note in the matrix (silly thing to forget i know..but it will prevent you from hearing anything) you dont need a long note. just set the release to long.

yes or no? it doesnt work that way. it depends. do you have the money for a c? if you do..get it. if you dont dont get it..it wont kill ya to not have the c. im assuming you can figure out the difference by looking at the specs. so i wont go into those. just keep in mind. the b series wont get any more os updates and the c will. so the b is at its best right now and the c will only get better. i have an indigo b that i just got recently. i have no problems with my choice.

on the "p.a." thing... personal appearence ...well if they are doing a dj set..they are still there in person. so that doesnt make sense. simon posford - live p.a. (presonal appearence) if it meant personal appearence then that means hes just there and if all he did was a dj set..people would be pissed off. public address.....eh? a "public address system" is like in a school where they have those little speakers in every room...what does it have to do with music and playing live? simon psoford - live p.a. (public address) not sure what that really means...is he gonna make a speach? performing artist...there you have an artist who is performing...hes not doing a dj set and if hes performing...then it stands to reason that he is actualy in the place and hes alive. so i still think p.a. stands for performing artist. simon posford - live p.a. (performing artinst) there you have it..hes performing...live. and although i guess it makes some sense i have never seen anyone actualy differentiate between "live p.a." and just "live" like ive never on a flyer seen one person listed as live pa and someone else as just live. its always been one or the other depending on how they decided to word it. anyways..thats my take on it.

i believe in the case of a live act ....p.a. stands for: perfoming artist. as opposed to a dj set...where the dj is still presumably "live" and not dead or automated.

ive seen ap a few of times.... they sucked every time i saw them. although no where near as bad as infected. holy crap i cant stand ap. never liked 'em never will. but i.m. is worse. Hallucinogenious : what the hell is "pure goa" ? for one more time..... astral projection = synths farting out bland arps and simplistic unchanging percussion.

if you didnt already have a q i would say it was a no brainer and you should trade. yes the xt is pretty damned nice. ca you go and try it out first to see what its like before you trade? i would do that if i could...its really the best way to tell if it worth it.

uuuggghhhhh!!!!! im so pissed. this is an utter dissapiontment. this is NOT the spirallianz you have heard before. its lackluster, meandering and devoid of power energy and focus. in a word...dull. a step backwards...maybe 2 or 3 steps. no sir...i didnt like it. so if you loved blast food (like i did) keep listening to that instead...cuz you wont get your fix here.

i want sonar cuz i use a pc so logic is out and i use 98/se and cubase is 2000 and up only. sonar is the only one i found that seems it might do the trick..... but i sure am open to suggestions.

ok...so a friend is willing to give me his copy of fruity pro. i dont know anything really about it, can i run hardware synths with that? should i even bother? i want to get sonar but that shit is pricy so its gonna hafta wait.

im going with spirallianz as well. i see there that they said its coincidence...but i think not. maybe they dont do it different on purpose..but they know in thier heads when they are midimiliz nd when they are spirallianz. if you hear tracks from the two its easy to tell which one is which...by style i mean. even if you never heard the track before...you can tell if its one or the other.

and you can not listen to it with anyone else. if they didnt pay for it and own a copy themselves then they have to leave the room or car when you want to play the cd.
