ok so i just got a virus indigo right? so now that i got a real synth i need to get serious and get a real sequencer right? so i look at cubase....what the hell? windows 2000 and up only? what the fuck is that? why on earth would i want to use anything other than 98se? i wouldnt and niether would anyone else whos been paying atention. so now im screwed cuz i already know logic is mac only. i am NOT getting windows 2000 or xp, or a freaking mac. no way. no how. so.... now what? anyone got any ideas.

thnx that was very informative. unfortunately i go to the music store all the time and they never have either one so i cant ever try them out. they usualy have the q rack so i could give that a try, but i have never seen a virus at any music store. and im not sure exactly when ill have the money for even one let alone both. but i might have a way to get a q for dirt cheap. i see the q is going for over 2 grand at novamusik and zzounds had the q rack at nearly that much. the virus you can find for 1300. i may be able to get the q for 1200. which is why i asked. the q was always just too much so i never even considered it before. thnx again.

entity, i started going to ss after they already moved to amazura (in queens not brooklyn). and i have to say i agree with you an how awful the venue was. the best ss i went to was absolum at the roxy. the venue was perfect and absolum was..well absolum..they rocked. i hated amazura, you are so right about the rudeness of the security and the underlying shadyness of it all. but i will still miss them. they did contribute a great deal to the scene....much more so than the bridge parties. the bridge parties made me feel a little awkward. none of my friends like psy so i usualy went out alone. while i sometimes went with a friend or sometimes knew a person or two at the party...the bridge parties were very clique-y and not all that open to new faces. at least not mine...maybe im just too ugly =) oh and there was too much bird shit. hehe =) dont get me wrong i still liked them very much and would still go. i personaly loved that place by the water in coney island though. i hope omnitribe can pick up the slack. and whatever happened to spiritual beings? they werent very good..but getting better.

uuuummmmmmm........ virus. although a waldorf xt/xtk is no joke either. no man scratch that...get a fizmo hehe. (actualy i like to get a fizmo) i would steer clear of the triton. if ep got it sound good well then hes the first one to do so. i think that thing sounds like crap. flat caned steril sounds as far as im concerned.

you can pick up a korg ms2000 on ebay for dirt cheap. around 400 bucks. its pretty good, especialy at that price.

good work. the track itself was pretty good. i liked it. in my opinion though i think you maybe should consider remastering it. it felt like the low end stuff was a bit muffled and the high end stuff was a bit sibilant. but again..just my opinion.

is the virus c really woth the x-tra cash over the b?? depending on the model ( regular/k/indigo) the c is 400-600 dollars more. other than future os upgrades does it really matter? here are the major (only?????) differences: polyphony: c = 32 b = 24 mod matrix scources: c = 6 b = 3 mod matrix destinations: c = 9 b = 6 simultaniuos fx: c = 98 b = 82 thats about it. is that difference plus the os upgrades worth the x-tra money????? i dont know..i need help. thnx

i have one. 250 is about right. its no where near 600. you can get a virus a for 600 bucks. do i like it? hhmmm............. well...... yeah, for 250 bucks you get a pretty decent fm synth. i wouldnt even bother with any of the other sounds though. drums = suck its really a groove box, so in that respect its kinda limited, but if you just use it as a fm synth as part of a larger set up, it should add some nice different and sometimes bizzaro sounds.

im pretty sure ive been to two or three parties where indiadrop played. if i remember correctly it was pretty good.

or you could just listen to any other a.p. cd, it doesnt matter. tee hee...im kidding.

ok...im very very new at trying to make psytrance, and will freely admit that i suck. but i am getting better. up to now most of my music making has been in the realm of industrial. and not clean sounding ebm like vnv nation but dirty sounding stuff like dive (the guy did a whole live show with nothing but a reel to reel tape player a mic. and one spotlight...hehe it was fucking awsome), so up till now my crappy soundblaster live was just fine. what i want to know is.....what exactly is the advantage of a sound card made more for music production? what is the difference in terms of actual percievable sound? sorry if this is a lame question...but i just dont know.

i use xp at work and have 98se at home. i freaking hate xp. its god damned slow as shit. but as far as the interface goes...i have my xp comp. set up to look exactly like my 98 comp. it only takes a min to set it that way.

im pretty sure there is a time limit. i dont know what it is. but for discussions sake lets say 30 seconds. (again..i dont know the actualy time). if you stay under the time you dont need to get clearance. this does not pertain to music...you cant use any sampled music...not even one note. and there is a place to see where a lot of samples have been used. http://www.sloth.org/samples/ you can search by source or by group. so if you want a list of groups and what songs and waht samples were used from the movie "matrix" then you put in "matrix" and it tells you what sample what group and what song. but i will say this list is mostly for industrial music, it has other stuff as well but its mostly industrial. industrial has more sampled stuff in it anyways.

ok ive been looking for this song for a while, i keep coming in here every few months asking....here goes: im looking for a dino psaras track. it uses the synth line from nitzer ebbs lightning man. pleeeeeeeez help. ive searched high and low. please anyone who knows dino psaras songs pretty well, i beg you to d/l lightning man by nitzer ebb and listen for the synth line...its not a long song. the line goes like this: dee dododo do do do dee dodododododo do do dee dee dee hehe...i know thats not helpful, but please...youll know what im talking about when you hear it

the second most sampled movie after bladerunner is aliens. it is well behind bladerunner with only a little over 30 songs.

it will also export as a mixman .trk file...... if you feel like using mixman for anything.

blade runner is sampled in over 100 songs. the matrix doesnt even come close. less than 20 for sure.
