and calling me narrow minded. im not the one claiming that what i said cant be possible or is wrong...you are. are you so narrow minded that you cant see a possible reality in which my statements are true? if you read up the thread a little bit youll see that when someone said that their experiences differed from mine....i accepted it. i never claimed that they were wrong or that my point of view was the only one. you however seem to be unable to accept that my observations could possibly be the truth. so..which one of us is being narrow minded?

what words am i putting in your mouth? show me where i claimed you said anything. ok you listen to psykovsky....i never said you didnt. i have no idea what albums you listen to...i never claimed you listen to anything. its you who are putting words in my mouth. im not over generalizing...generalizing? maybe...but OVER generalizing...absolutely not. im speaking from my own experiences...are you implying that i have not had these experiences of witnessing first hand the kinds of people at hallucinogen or shpongle shows ive been to? theres nothing wrong with generalizing if its based in factual observations....watch in general....people like to eat food. in general....being stabbed with a knife hurts in general....its dark at night see....am i narrow minded because i just generalized 3 things in a row? none of those things are 100% true all the time...but IN GENERAL they are correct.

you are right that just because astral and and hallucinogen are popular doesnt mean they are bad. their horrible music means they are bad. i never claimed to listen to goa....i havent listened to goa since 1996, i listen to psytrance. 2 entirely different kinds of music. yes ive heard every one of those things you listed...bla bla bla....not interested. its cool if you like them...not my thing though. music over the dj? what are you talking about??? im talking about hallucinogen, shpongle, and younger brother...not his dj sets (which really arent any better). all im saying is that like im, skazi, and astral...posfords music is terribly over rated and cheesy. its also liked generally by the same group of people. again...its all a matter of opinion...if you like his stuff...great...listen to it, i dont care. in fact do me a favor...organize a festival next summer with hallucinogen, astral, im, shpongle and skazi that will give me more room on the dance floor for psykovsky, venom sense, and unwashed tomato and i wont have to deal with a bunch of cheese ball full on neo hippies stumbling through my dance space choking me with a cloud of patchouli oil.

anyone have suggestions for some good dark ambient? im looking for stuff thats NOT just drones and textures. im looking for stuff with percussion and interesting patterns....more stuff that borders on dark ambient / industrial here are examples of the style im looking for: a.n.k.h// empusae skin contact. thnx in advance for any help.

well...not where im from. in fact its demonstrably true as indicated by the reason i said it. which is around here the same people going bonkers for im, astral, and skazi are the same people who just about piss themselves when they hear possford is comming to town. perhaps this is not the case where you are, i dont know....but here....completely true

yeah i love it. i dont understand why so many people still think flstudio is a "toy". imho its the most accessible daw going. just because its simple to use doesnt make it less capable. in fact it makes it more capable as far as im concerned. what good is a daw that makes producing music tedious and stifles creativity with complicated and unwieldy design? my only problem with it is that its not really good for "live" performances. i know it has a live mode...but as of yet i cant really get the hang of using it properly.

SP has always and will always be a boring egotistical twat. his only good track is an unreleased version of pink floyds on the run....which obviously is good because of the source material and not really SP's treatment of it. and before anyone says anything...yes ive seen him....a lot....as hallucinogen and shpongle. sun project was "simulated"? really...cuz ive seen them about 6 or 7 times and every time i saw them they were playing live (as live as psytrance gets anyway).

neubauten has been doing something very similar to this idea for their past few albums. in fact as far as i know...neubauten was the first to do something like this back in 2003 or somewhere around that time. it seems to be working...because they keep doing it. i think its a great idea....as it gets people to WANT to pay instead of pirating, you actually get something that you cant pirate...an experience.

that track is pretty good. still though...i find that the high speed darkpsy tends to lack creativity. it seems like the artists feel as though the high speed is enough to make it interesting. im partial to tracks that have power more than speed.

tracks 1 and 2 are almost identical. i understand they are samples and not entire tracks....but as was stated by infected...there is no evolution, and the sound is washed out...those high hats are staticy sounding.

i see why you would say that, but thats not it. those glitchy sounds arent usually in a pattern. besides....i can fire up my daw right now and make discernible patterns at 170 bpm and higher that dont even remotely sound glitchy. i dont think thats the problem...i think they just like it that way. its just a matter of taste, and thats just not what i like to hear. obviously theres people out there who like it, as theres so much of it being produced. i think the people who make and listen to that stuff think that glitchyness is "psychedelic"...i dont. to me it totally destroys any psychedelic feel the track may otherwise have had. again its a matter of personal taste and for me...a track looses any psychedelic or trance like feel as soon as those random squelchy sounds start chirping about all over the place.

if its done well then i dont care. the problem with tracks that fast is that 99% of the time theyre just a glitchy mess. i love darkpsy...but i cant stand darkpsy with that glitch sound to it. i dont understand why they cant just speed up the pattern based sounds to match and cut out the random sounding glitch crap.

the production is good...and im a big fan of darkpsy....just not this kind of darkpsy. all the tracks follow that basic formula of a fast kick and bass line with glitchy randomness superimposed over it. good for what it is...but not my style.
