  1. Some people will bring their own "chicks"... Anyway, the Soulclipse line up is really nice. Haven't seen such a great line up since Samothraki...
  2. See you in the chill out area....!!
  3. I totally agree....
  4. And while we are at it... Electro is for me VERY oldschool! Electro is something I was listening more to in early 90's... It was big in the late 80's too... It's cool that some artists manages to make this old sound become new in a way, but in my opinion, too many prog artists went this direction in 2005... Almost everybody does the same, exactly what they do in the full on scene... Some artist does it well, others don't...
  5. I don't like the Switch track either... It is actually nothing "original" about that track in my opinion... Pure commercial disco house which has existed for many years allready... I like several tracks by this project, but this one makes me jump off the dance floor... For me this one is not at all more original sounding than any full on these days... But, it's a hit that has been played a lot by progressive house djs, and for some strange reason, it is appreciated by a lot of psytrancers too... Most boring summer hit at festivals 2005... Sorry! Just had to say it..

  7. Hey Ukiro! Cool pictures! Seems fun! Cute girlfriends too.. I just noticed that you and I are the only ones who have this one: http://www.discogs.com/release/515814 ...pretty rare record I guess? I like the cover art on it... PKS
  8. Just out of curiosity, why don't you submit them to discogs now? It doesn't take long time to submit a release on discogs when you are used to it, which I know you are.... By the way, I love the pictures from your record evening: http://www.discogs.com/user/stormbringer Me and my friends have "geek nights" some times too, where we ONLY listen to old goa trance etc... I'm planning on having an Eat Static evening soon, where we go through all the Eat Static releases, including some Ozric Tentacles stuff I guess... It's incredibly geeky, but extremly fun... What is better than an evening with BEER, GOA TRANCE, INCENSE and nostalgic memories?
  9. If you want to spend "real" money on rare CDs, try to collect the FAX ambient label... THAT is expensive!! Seems like Astro Cortex on the forum is doing quite well on the collecting... Talking about mad collectors My friend Melanocorypha and I started collecting goa trance at the same time... But he has gone a bit further than me Take a look: http://www.discogs.com/user/melanocorypha
  10. I have noticed the same thing, so I have periods that I don't bid on anything at all... Anyway, there are some CDs I have been searching for years, without seeing it on ebay... Most Transpact vinyls seems to be quite easy to find on german ebay. Most of them go for a VERY low price too... I only collect cds. I think I have got TIP, Matsuri and Blue Room Released complete, but only the CDs... Those labels were among my favourites... Especially Blue Room Released. Pure quality stuff all the way. I don't have any Doss-House releases, but I hear some of them are very rare... 21-3 is another favourite label. VERY good quality releases. Too bad their style didn't appeal to most psytrancers at that time. I miss more of that style... High Socitey is a fun label, but the quality was often quite low on some of those releases if you ask me.. They had some really funny cover arts though, such as Survival Of The Trippest and Drug Checking: http://www.discogs.com/release/200342 Don't understand how you can find some Matsuri releases uninteresting...! For me that was some of the best. Finally someone who dared to do something different! Really miss Matsuri... Top label all the way if you ask me... They came out with something fresh, when most goa trance artists had started going in the same foot steps of eachother, just like what has happened to most full on these days... Sometimes I am a bit surprised to see how those who worship the old goa trance so much can't see that... I love the old goa trance sound more than anything, still I find a lot of it pretty weak compared to todays psytrance. Luckily I'm not stuck in 96..! Trance doesn't need to be filled with melody to be good. Anyway, a fact is; for those who think all full on sounds the same these days. Many think and thought that about goa trance in 1995-96 too..! I don't agree with any of them though...
  11. Seems like you have done your homework... I agree with everything you say here.... I have been a mad man on ebay for many years myself... By the way, who are you on Discogs? This is me: http://www.discogs.com/user/PKS Here are some of the rarest ones I have: Juno Rector - Luciana http://www.discogs.com/release/61352 YAP http://www.discogs.com/release/21439 Adrenalin Drum - Xperimental Goa http://www.discogs.com/release/238540 Eternal Basement - Vivaldis summer http://www.discogs.com/release/229775 Saafi Brothers - Internal Code Error (CDS) (The vinyl version is more common..) http://www.discogs.com/release/211018 Solar Systems - Remote Viewers http://www.discogs.com/release/165707 PKS (the collector geek)

  15. Hello! Nice nostalgic discussion here... I started listening to goa trance for real in 1995. At that time I was mostly recording goa trance on tapes from radio etc... One of the first goa CDs I bought was Digital Alchemy: http://www.discogs.com/release/140091 Tribal Science: http://www.discogs.com/release/93489 and Man With No Name - Momenth Of Truth: http://www.discogs.com/release/81584 Anyway, I have to dissagree that people weren't focused on the artists at that time... Personally I fast discovered the difference in talent between the artists, and became quickly obsessed by checking out my favourite artists, what they released etc. I didn't have internet at that time, but the stores that sold goa trance were often sending out paper lists of releases by post... That's how I found out about things... Dj's on the radio were also good "teachers". When I first time saw my favourite artists live (such as KoxBox), for me, they were not just some dancing people in the crowd, but guys I was really admireing.. I was always checking which artists who were playing where etc... Goa trance was never as commercial in Norway as around 1996-97. They played Man With No Name tracks on national TV here at that time...! And yes, psytrance/goa trance has always had a strong connection with drugs. Way too much in my opinion, which also has made the scene quite unacceptable in most countries... Now it's gone back to complete underground in Norway... Why? Because most of the people who found the music intersting at that time, has left the scene because they don't find themselves in todays psytrance. Too much drugs in the scene also has destroyed a lot of people. Heroin started to be almost accepted among several people in the scene after a while etc. The big focus on drugs, also made the police look at the scene as a problem etc. Anyway, the vibes are still around us. It's just harder to find these days, and the global festivals around the world on various exotic places such as Turkey, Morocco, Samothraki etc, is todays answer to the place Goa. That's where the tribe meets to dance under the moon together, watch the stars and go mad, just like in the old days... PKS

    cd

Hello guys Back from the major Christmas things here... The three winners of the contest will receive their CD hopefully next week... Let me know when you guys receive it... The expenses with Quality Relaxation (Chill Tribe Records) was about: EUR 10000,- It has sold almost 700 copies so far (since June). This means I have received about: EUR 3750,- 10000-3750=6250,- There you see how much money my label has lost.... This compilation is distributed by one of the best distributors within our kind of music, which is Arabesque... Almost all the artists on the compilation are well known in the scene... The compilation has got almost ONLY good reviews. It is promoted quite a lot. Some even mentioned it was hyped..! So, please stop bullshitting about how much butter the labels get on their table these days..! I'm sick of hearing it! To Detox: I admire what you do and that you manage to have all those "expensive" artists on your compilations. You do it with psytrance like I do it with chill... None of us earn much (or anything) on it, but we do it for the love of music, and that we are tired of getting pure mediocre compilations all the time... I wanted to release something with quality, instead of a compilations with two ok tracks and the rest boring amateure easy listening... To Elysium: I payed you EUR 800,- for the tracks on Quality Relaxation, so at least some of us pay you more than EUR 200,-.... I also booked Elysium to Oslo, Norway, and I think he was well payed for that... So, there is still hope! Elysium and me are also planning an Elysium album on Chill Tribe... We will see.... I just hope you don't follow Detox idea of releasing it for free... We will see what happens with Chill Tribe Records in the future, but the way it is now, the artists have to realise that they can't take as much money as they used to before. Actually they could, but then I would have to put a lot of crappy, cheap tracks on the compilation to afford it... And that's not what I want. Then I will not do it... We have enough crappy chill compilation out there allready..! Ok, I hope some of you learned something from us who put in all this hard work and loose so much money on it. Running a label isn't that bright. But, all the nice feedback we get from you guys actually makes it worth it anyway... I also think that this chill compilation will not sound too old in ten years either, which shows quality... I think those artists who has tracks on this compilation also got good promotion by it, which can result in more releases and more gigs for them... I also know Elysium has been asked for a track by another chill label because of this. Same with the other artists on this compilation... Happy new years everybody! A new compilation on Chill Tribe is allready in the planning. Contracts is allready signed with Saafi Brothers.... Take care! PKS http://www.chilltriberecords.com

Ok you guys. Contest is over... I don't have much time right now... Christmas celebrating etc... So I will come back to the winner(s) in a couple of days... Nick Inzomniac came closest with number of Cds sold. But you are really far away on the money I lost.... Anyway, you will get a CD for coming so close on the number of Cds sold... All of you are really far from right about the amount of money I lost... Interesting to see that all of you think that I earn so much more than I do.. Le Lotus Bleu was closest, but not in time, so Krell wins this one... Anyway, Le Lotus Bleu will get a CD too... Yes, Yes, I'm too kind, but it's christmas, and they say I am supposed to be kind so that Santa will visit me etc.... So, Krell, Le Lotus boy and Nick will get Cds... PM me your addresses, and I will come back to you when I have finished all the turkey eating, running around the christmas tree and sang all those christmas songs in a couple of days... I will also come back with some more info about the sales here... Ok, merry christmas everybody!!! Hope santa will bring you some psychedelic stuff for the holliday... PKS

Interesting discussion... Well, I don't believe that most labels do it as Elysium describes it here... The CD sales IS REALLY low these days, and I think most labels tells the truth about CD sales etc... In my opinion, artists should probably read their contracts more carefully, and actually use the contracts (that's what they are meant for...). If it says in the contract that the artist has the right to see the sales statements the label get from their disributor(s), you have the right to see it... I have released two tracks by Elysium, and he can see the sales statements whenever he asks for it... Anyway, I know he trusts me... I also think that many artists, especially those who have been in the scene actually don't understand that the CD sales now is half of what it used to be... There are many reasons for this, but the major reasons is downloading and too many labels/releases to choose from... Now, for the fun of it, I will make a little contest here. How many copies do you think I have sold of the Quality Relaxation (Chill Tribe Records) compilation? And how much money do you think I have lost on it? As you can see on the track list, these are not among the cheap ones... Quality Relaxation (Compiled by PKS) Chill Tribe Records 2005 (CTRCD01) 1. Entheogenic - Walk On Air 2. Elysium - Fairytale 3. Shulman - The Unexpected Visitor (Carbon Based Lifeforms Rmx) 4. Ishq - En Soph 5. Jaïa - Missing 6. Cell - Secret Wedding 7. PhasePhour - Unpronounced Numbers 8. Elysium Vs. Space Cat - Dub Connection 9. Altitudes - Altitude 1 10. Blue Planet Corporation - Wild City The one who comes closest (on both questions) first, will win a copy of this compilation..!! The artists on this compilation (including Elysium) is not allowed to answer.. The contest lasts 24 hours from NOW
  19. Hello guys and girls! I have made an interview with Blue Planet Corporation: http://www.trance.net/article/articleview/731/1/27/ Here he talks about new and old projects... This guy has made electronic music since the end of the 80's..! Feedback is welcome.. Take care! PKS
