  1. Artist: Bass Chakra Release: 230,000 Miles EP Year: 1996 Label: Matsuri Productions Cat-#: MP15 Rating: 2/5 Tracklisting: A1: 230,000 Miles (Inspire Mix) A2: 230,000 Miles (Inner Mix) B: 230,000 Miles (Initiation Mix) Well, this one is clearly a dud. There's a lot of wackyness going on but it's just not taking it across the finish line. The two first ones are just redundant acidic trance and I'm bored and annoyed by the noise that goes on and on. The only one that sticks out somewhat is, yet again a slow tempo tune like athena's human vox remix, the initiation mix. It's got a bit more groove and less looped noise. But it still is too non-assertive, taking you absolutely nowhere.
  2. Artist: Martin Cooper Release: Fly In The Rajasthan Year: 1995 Label: Subliminal Records Cat-#: S.12 Rating: 3.5/5.0 Tracklisting: A: Fly In The Rajasthan B: 303 Keops Fly In The Rajasthan really catches you and reigns you in, it's those thick analogue synths and acid layers that weak minds like mine can't be without. Unfortunately after the first 3 minutes pass it seems he ran completely out of ideas and simply let his synth roll a mindnumbing loop for another 3 minutes. Nothing is happening! What? Why? 303 Keops... now this one is the one. This one is a gem. It has everything I want in a track. It has groove, it has cohesion, it has the acid layers bouncing around, it has melody and ambience, and it's most importantly not flying away at a ridiculous speed of 145 BPM. A very very good goa trance track indeed.
  3. Artist: Athena Release: Human Vox EP Year: 1996 Label: Matsuri Productions Cat-#: MP14 Rating: 4/5 Tracklisting: A1: Human Vox A2: Human Vox (slave Labour Trance Mix) B1: Croctopus B2: Xshattriy (Female Remix) I've been looking for this one ever since I heard the track on Infinity HZ. I'm treated to the original first, though. It's sped up and slightly less thick in atmosphere. Some of the more positive attributes are hence removed. The remix, which I'm comparing it to, is the one to look for. The tempo is very very important. It's slow and thick and filled up with ambience and melody, everything comes together perfectly. This is one those few moments a goa trance track would work wonderfully on the dancefloor. Croctopus has much the same feeling as A1. It's lacking in thickness but certainly has energy. It's trying to take of but doesn't really get all the way. The Xshattriy track is one of those "hidden gems" I guess. A lot of ambience and melody, and I particularly like the echoing melody in the beginning which pops up every now and then throughout. For those Phenomena fans out there this EP is definitely something for you.
  4. Artist: Transwave Release: The Rezwalker EP Year: 1995 Label: Matsuri Productions Cat-#: MP10 Rating: 3/5 Tracklisting: A: The Rezwalker (Black Thunder Mix) B1: The Rezwalker (Original) B2: Zero Density The only one track that has aged well on this 12" is the original rezwalker. Black Thunder Mix is not bad but it's way too busy and noisy for me. The Original is on the other hand a lot more coherent and subtle. The lead melody is also timeless, catching on in the ambience just brilliantly. While the track certainly losens up a bit in the end it never goes over the top. Zero Density could have been a nifty goa track, but I have never understood the useage of the high pitched beat that went through most producers at the time. Where's the bass? The melodies are screeching for attention so much you had to completly write of the beat?
  5. I have the feeling most of the psychedelic versions come from his recent remix albums. http://www.discogs.com/Juno-Reactor-Inside-The-Reactor/master/353130 http://www.discogs.com/Juno-Reactor-From-The-Land-Of-The-Rising-Sun-Inside-The-Reactor-II/master/429853 If Ben Watkins himself was dabbling in psychedelic trance I'd be very surprised. Because I had thought he moved on after Labyrinth.
  6. makin' foooood... oh yes! good seasoned food!
  7. It seems the current forums has an archive back to 2004... which is long after I started posting.
  8. playing it from the original vinyl http://www.discogs.com/Ra-ROM-Azure-Child/release/121371
  9. tänkte kanske spela lite metsässä-trance! In particular Procs & Loumuhappo.
  10. Ur:et är just nu 8:10 and I'm very drunk... am on my last beer but got a lot of tequila and rum... och coca cola!
  11. "Keep yourself alive" I like
  12. As long as it's groovy funky and got soul I'm in, genre or style is really not what I'm going for when I'm listening to music. The only electronic style I've not got represented in my collection is probably Trap, but it sounds more or less like a Skrillexified version of the style Skweee.
  13. Jap DJs? Kentaro all the way '' Lacepaste I paused pornhub for this.... and I still came ''
  14. marimba makes me happy
  15. keep posting, keep feelin' your way, we're all here for you
  16. woah! that chrono cross track is beautiful. sounds a lot like it was inspired by early minimalism like Steve Reich, go listen to Music For 18 Musicians!
  17. Soundmute Records DAT Records Wakyo Virtual World (for the hippie chill out) I actually don't buy much psy/progg/goa these days. Maybe I'll dive in again if I ever get the time to do so.
  18. He certainly does have his moments... here are two of 'em. No album I like though , they're too uneven.
  19. Forever After is originally released on Harthouse, so you are indeed right. As for the list, which is going to be short as I do not have much. Infinity Hertz is a brilliant two CD compilation. Transwave - Helium Endora - Joy EP Athena - Human Vox EP Digitalis - Soma Junkies EP, mainly because of Dr Sembei track.
  20. I liked the Solstice Black compilations. Also got an interesting compilation from soundmute called Reconstruction, the Le S4b0t3ur track on that CD is intense.
