Btw, it seems to be adding tracklist... if anyone is interested I could post it. Most of the tracks are classics and should be common knowledge though The tracklist shown at the moment isn't entirely correct either I see. Oh well, I'll post it tonight. Oh! you've already asked for it starkraver, didn't see!

Artist: Various Release: Erta Alé Year: 2011 Label: Cronomi Records Cat-#: CRONOMI005CD Rating: 4/5 Tracklisting: 1) NK-47 - Snufkin Is Gone 2) Subra - Nervous Machine 3) Portamento - An Expert On Humans 4) M-Run Feat. DJ Inada - Kapala 5) Lapsus - Holocron 6) M-Run - Goat Man 7) GoaMech - Synthesized Not Yet 8) E-Mantra - Perihelion 9) New Born - We Are Nothing But Dust This almost feels like 15 years back, a combination of goa and psychedelic trance. The good thing with this CD is that they certainly know where they are going and why. While the intro track is a bit misplaced and outright boring the rest of the CD is smashing. I've not heard goa in such a way for quite a while. It is refreshing listenable and danceable, a versatile CD with a heavy focus on nostalgia. The music is melodic and expansive and the ideas flows nicely creating an atmosphere that bubbles and soothe you in a most positive way.

Artist: Polyphonia Release: Beyond The Ocean Of Time Year: 2011 Label: Quantum Frog Productions Cat-#: QFROGCD004 Rating: 2.5/5.0 Tracklisting: 1) Quantum Mechanics 2) Ocean Of Neutrons 3) True Hallucinations 4) Culture Dissolution 5) Diviner's Mint 6) Mind Explorer 7) Take Off 8) Time Is Speeding Up 9) The End Of Time This is really not my cup of tea. Full on can really get tedious at times. This one is simply going nowhere, drenched in dithering disorienting and distractive noisy effects. Generic bassline hook moving every track. I'm wondering what the hell is going on and why there is absolutely no progression whatsoever. The last track got moving but the other 8 tracks simply went in circles for 6 to 7 minutes each.

I do not understand, an opinion can neither be wrong nor right. It could, though, be based upon infactual or factual information or experiences... what were we talking about, anyway?

Artist: Electrypnose Release: E7 Year: 2013 Label: Electrypnose Media Cat-#: ELEMCD001 Rating: 3.5/5.0 Tracklisting: 1) Electrypnose - 634 Funny Faces 2) Electrypnose - 636 Unconscious Phenomenon 3) Electrypnose - 629 Fractalisation De Lego Rmx 4) Electrypnose - 633 Emotive Movements 5) Electrypnose - 643 Gumbus 6) Electrypnose - 641 Sunny Heart (Electro Prog Rmx) 7) Electrypnose - 628 The Shnit (5:51) 8) Sensual Squeak - 630 A Quarter Of A Milligram (Electrypnose Rmx) 9) Electrypnose - 637 Gerakasias 10) Electrypnose - 642 Griwech 11) Electrypnose - 647 Mocalpo Solid work here, the determination is indeed felt throughout. Elements of electro and trance are weaved quite efficiently into the solid progressive base. Also a bit of minimalism is incorporated in the last three tracks but minimal, in my opinion, really never went all that well with trance and I feel the last three tracks certainly lack the completeness of the earlier tracks. The two first tracks kicks of nicely and progressively, the third might take you down the BPM scale but the progressive psychedelic atmosphere is kept intact and we are gradually worked back into the higher BPM. Finishing off with a remix of a Sensual Squek that actually is really really good. While not being entirely remarkable it is still a very nice album with progressive trance that flows in a good dancefloor oriented way.

Artist: Hutti Heita Release: Hutti Heita Year: 2015 Label: Yggdrasil Records Cat-#: Yggcd004 Rating: 3/5 Tracklisting: 1) Travel Scrabble 2) Bom Bim Bam 3) Bongo People 4) Organisticks 5) Aurora Borealis 6) Fruitcake 7) Osaka Bells 8) Mushrooms & Moonshine 9) Whales In Space Now don't get me wrong here, it is a neat trip this album. So what is wrong then? These guys do have potential, you can hear it quite clearly throughout the whole CD. Unfortunately something is holding them back and only they could answer why. It's spaced out and trippy, also love the lilting bits of melody that all the tracks are seasoned with. But I would have loved their melodies and trippyness to take on a more improvised way. Of course tracks needs structure but it should still give way for a bit just random soul a certain deepness in the tracks. To me it sounds like either they were way too rigid in their production or they're simply afraid of going a little bit more nutty. Seriously guys I want more, I loved how those odd marimba-like melody layers sort of faded into the tracks and gave them a purpose but the frustration starts when those layers are not built upon and instead seem to play a very small part on the album. But as I said it is a very nice try and I implore the artists to keep at it and expand on their ideas.

I understand what you're getting at but if you'd ask me I would not tell people outright to refrain from posting even though it might take the discussion in a direction that was not meant. Though being deliberatly mean and belittling in a discussion is not especially efficient, it is still up to the mods to set whatever criteria it is when a user has gone too far. I always respond to everyone as if they meant things seriously and for that matter everyone being earnestly truthful. This way even the trolls get sidewinded (it's no use because I troll them right back or tell them they're entirely right o_O). _________________________________ Example: Someone calls me an idiot. I don't take this as an insult as the person in question wouldn't call me an idiot for no reason whatsoever. Either the person has evidence to back up the claim or the person called me an idiot for teh giggles (whereupon I *shrug* and move on/or play along). In either case we should both be able to move on in a gentlemanly fashion. Also in rare cases the person might have a psychiatric disorder to back up the random hate towards random people and thusly should be approached with care and concern. _________________________________ In essence, you probably wont ever see me pissed off...

I think I missunderstood this topic... hmmm. Changing stance is not to be frowned upon. I do it all the time as I learn new things and learn from my mistakes. I wouldn't remove anything I have posted (unless it's totally out of hand insulting/damaging) as I would use it as a guidestone/lesson as to which path not go down yet again.

A healthy discussion on all topics is always welcome, of course we wont agree on everything and have a lot of different points of views and opinions. It is important that we respect each other in that regard. The problem arises mainly when people (in general, everywhere) can't take a step back and view the discussion objectively and impartially (imposing, so to speak, their views and opinions on others), maybe you'll even get to learn something instead of being seen as a stuborn person. Nobody is wrong neither is anyone right. I would never get angry at anyone because they do or think differently than myself... to me the most obvious reaction is curiosity and if I dare maybe ask why or how the person thinks, unfortunately this almost always triggers a defensive reaction like "are questioning me!?", so I simply rarely ever do that.

I: Ephedra - Journey Through My Head (Starkraver) II: Electrypnose - E7 (Scandinasia) III: Cybered - Acid Box (Manuser) IV: Various - Erta Ale (Penzoline) V: Various - Ten Spins Around The Sun (Anoebis) VI: Polyphonia - Beyond The Ocean Of Time (Ormion) VII: Artifact303 - Back To Space (Padmapani) VIII: Psysex - Mind Penetration (Celaripo) IX: Hutta Heita - Hutta Heita (Juril) X: Maiia - Sky In Diamond (IronSun) of course nobody has won yet, this is just a list of the current CDs that are competing for the top spot. -
Listening to 3 To 1 now halfway through now. Damn this one evolves, never staying on the same spot but eloquently jumps through a mesmerizing montage of leads... this 12" is really really good.
