  1. http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=4186 Phi were a duo from Japan making a sort of full on-ish hard goa hybrid. Unfortunately they broke up earlier this year, although they are both working on solo projects. Shuji as Slum (who has an album coming out on Elf Music next month) and Shin as Symphonics, who is making some weird music that I can only describe as minimal full-on atmospheric something. Funny that I read this thread just now since I'm meeting Shin in a couple hours to go record shopping.... some weird synergy going on there As for Astral, they are screwed no matter what they do. If they stick to their original style, people will scream they are just cashing in on their music and not doing anything inovative. If they try something new, people will scream they are just cashing in and making music that will sell and not staying true to who they are. Personally I'll listen to their next album and judge it by the only criteriia that matter to me... do I like it?
  2. The other two were Sebi (who was actually involved in three of the tracks on E.B.S.) and Yakov. You can check out their other releases here... Sebi http://www.discogs.com/artist/Sebi Yakov http://www.discogs.com/artist/Yakov As for the album, I'm glad GMS are finally getting over their noddling bassline addiction here. I'm half and half on the album. There are a couple tracks I really don't like, but also some I really enjoy. I think No Rules was maybe a bit better overall, but the good moments here are good and again, they have finally seemed to figure out that sometimes simpler is better when it comes to bass.
  3. I've had a couple of requests for wav versions of a few tracks here. Any tracks in particular that any DJs would want wav files for? I'll probably briefly upload the 3 or 4 most requested tracks.

  5. My favorite online shop by far. Their courier service is super fast (2 days to Japan. 2 or 3 to the U.S.), good response to questions, good prices. I've been ordering from them since 2001 and have never had a problem with them. They also carry a lot of smaller labels I don't see at other sites. Two thumbs up
  6. I ordered from Psyshop many times but more or less stopped once Saiko Sounds got courier delivery so I could get my order for the same price in 2 days to the US instead a week for Psyshop. Once I placed an order and received an Astral Projection album (on vinyl) that had a sticker on the shrink wrap saying it was a limited edition and included a free bonus disc in it. However the shrink wrap was sliced open and the said free bonus disc was removed. Technically I got the album I ordered (the site never said anything about a free bonus disc), but I thought it was kind of cheap regardless (they could have at least removed the shrink wrap and threw it away and I would been none the wiser). They are also terrible at replying to customer service and I have never once received a reply to an email sent there for any reason. Outside of that, I have probably made 15 or 20 orders from them over the years with no other problems and all orders received in about 7 days.
  7. Opps... keep forgetting to check my own threads. Thanks for the kind words. Modori Odori took me a long to write. It was the first track I made after moving back to Japan and I hadn't gotten into any sort of routine for both life and making music so it took probably 2 and a half months start to finish. That said, it was kind of a turning point for me too in some areas of production.
  8. In my mind pro equals someone who makes their living off an activity and since I have on ever lost money making trance, the term pro definately doesn't apply here I think.
  9. For me their best to two tracks are both done with other people.. Domestic Mushroom - Scotch Jorg On Mushroom - The Messenger
  10. I wouldn't say I'm a "pro" as I've only been on one release so far so don't get too worked up Some of the tracks are better than others, but that's only natural as they were made over a period of 2 and a half years or so...
  11. I'm officially broke at the moment and decided it was time to be rid of a few select items from my doubles and for trade pile so I have listed a few cds up on Ebay. The CDs are.... Pleiadians - I.F.O. http://www.discogs.com/release/9388 Tokyo Tekno Tribe 1 http://www.discogs.com/release/140665 Tokyo Tekno Tribe 1.5 http://www.discogs.com/release/335307 KURO - Vision Of Mars http://www.discogs.com/release/316361 Prana - Geomantik (Japanese Polystar version) http://www.discogs.com/release/84218 Also listed a few copies of my comp "A Walk In Neptune's Garden" as well ;-) http://www.discogs.com/release/485082 http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZjikkentekiQQhtZ-1 Best, Jikkenteki
  12. Thanks for doing that for me Basilisk. ...BTW there is a special "bonus" track in the torrent version

    .

Amen... I recall playing their one 12" quite a lot several years ago.
  14. I can confirm they break easily. I have 4 different friends I can think of off hand that had those and than them break on them rather quickly. All of them at the round tube-like swivel joint where they attach to the head-piece. They are quite well known for it actually, to the point where when I was shopping for some DJ-ing headphones the staff at the shop I was at even mentioned it. I was never really impressed with the sound quality of them either. Its not terrible, but my old roommate had those and at the time I just had some cheap $25 headphones and we both actually thought my cheap headphones sounded better, although not quite as well insulated soundwise.
  15. At 3:56 I think it might be too long for a Raja Ram's Stash Bag mix....
  16. Since none of these so-called psy-trance masters have the balls to do a remix of a true classic, I stepped up to the plate and did it myself.... Prepare yourself for the ultimate remix... Jikkenteki - Happy Birthday To You (Super Killargh Mix) !!!!!!! http://www.par-2.com/choons/Jikkenteki%20-...argh%20Mix).mp3 ...Actually I was begged by the staff at a party I usually spin at into making this for one of the organizer's birthday last Sat. They wanted it for when they brought the cake out in front of everyone. I resisted at first, but the idea of seeing just how embarrassed she would get proved too much so I threw it together the afternoon before... so just to make it clear.. THIS TRACK WAS MADE AS A JOKE....

  19. Yeah well, for the most part I think the new stuff is better, but then again, I would think that wouldn't I...
  20. Yeah, I've made the mistake of listening to that track just before going to work a few times myself and all day that melody keeps going round and round...
  21. I was digging through my music folder and realized I had a bunch of tracks that have been just laying around. I still play a number of them live quite often, but they have all been phased out of "release" potential for various reasons or were simply experiments so I figured it was time to share, so here they are at full 320kb. The tracks are listed newest to oldest, with most of them being from 2004. A couple of these have been posted here last year, but at a much lower bitrate so.... Enjoy http://www.par-2.com/choons/jikkentekiwonderfoul.mp3 The most recent here. This was going to be on my upon coming album, but sonically it doesn't quite fit the overall sound-scape that is developing there so here it is. http://www.par-2.com/choons/jikkentekinext.mp3 This was made after I went to a party and was lamenting that none of the tracks have REALLY big long breaks and build ups anymore, nor much tribal percussion. The break here explains it all. http://www.par-2.com/choons/jikkentekiangermanagement.mp3 This was the last track I finished before relocating to Japan. It came about after a conversation with a label owner who said that old school sounds just don't have any power anymore (which I obviously disagreed with) http://www.par-2.com/choons/jikkentekiliftingtheveil.mp3 This was one of the first tracks I made after switching to Cubase SX and the first with my Nord Lead. http://www.par-2.com/choons/jikkentekioddditty.mp3 Another early Cubase SX track and the first I made after buying Albino. I also played around with some odd time sig.s here with the 5/4 section in the middle. http://www.par-2.com/choons/jikkenteki_-_madness_nk.mp3 This one was my first track after buying Reaktor and my first with Cubase SX as well. I was trying to mix some newer crazy sounds in the first half with some old school big melodies in the second. It also has some weird rythmic stuff going on as the clean shamisen type melody in the break is in 6/4 time while everything else is 4/4. http://www.par-2.com/choons/jikkentekimini-mall.mp3 The first and only track I even made on Cubase VST 5 (upgraded to SX right when I bought it and made this while I was waiting for the CD for SX to arrive). This was an experiment in making a minimal type track. Almost everything besides the drums were done with Absynth. http://www.par-2.com/choons/jikkentekiabsense.mp3 This was the first track I made after getting Absynth and the last I made with Fruityloops. Most of the synths were made with Absynth while the screaming leads were a Korg Electribe. http://www.par-2.com/choons/jikkentekigargleofthegods.mp3 This track took me hands down the longest to write. I started it back in 2001 when I was still using all hardware. Then it sat around for a year or so until I finally went back and recorded all the main parts into my computer and got it about 70% done. Then it sat around for close to another year until I managed to finally finish it in early 2004. Listening to it now, its a lot better than I remember.
  22. Actually in the music industry at large that is an amazingly good deal for an artist. The average figure an artist gets from a major label in the mainstream music industry is usually (significantly) less than 10 cents US per CD and they don't see any of that money until all the money for their advances and recording costs have been recovered by the record company (usually the record company's first offer contract is for about 5 cents per disc, which then has to be negotiated up). Often about the only money an artist sees from CD sales are from publishing rights which are paid through different agencies and not their record company.
