  1. ok i have a lot of for sale cds lying around my room and no one seems to buy any so this is the thing i'll be giving away 3 cds in the spirit of hannukah! all you have to do is to take a funny pic from wikipedia, add a funny caption (on the pic itself, using photoshop or psp or whatever) to it and post it here. the 3 funniest people will get to choose one of the 6$ cds from here http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?seller=anenburg sent to them free. good luck.
  2. it will be the most talked about anyway, the cd is out! available at your fav shop!
  3. i played with the emu xboard 61 a few days ago. omfg it rocks?!?!?!?! i want one. the aftertouch thingy is really cool. build quality also good and features. all this for half the price of a novation it made the nl3 feel like a toy..
  4. looks like a young simon p, no? hhaha
  5. i'm with him. great prog. bpm detection is almost perfect and key detection rocks. prog itself still sucks, but they're getting it better slowly.
  6. a real synth is nice if you wanna play with 0 latency without putting load on the vst host and without interfering with the midi controller. if you're not going to play, then u dont need it. m audio firewire is widely used by just about every live acts, if you want names to be specific - vibrasphere, triac, and some more. but it is also known to suck. bugs and stuff. they use it because it's cheap and if it gets fucked up in travelling the damage isn't that big. but assuming that what you get for a single live act usually covers the price of the m audio, i think you can afford something a bit better. btw if you're looking for effects try the korg kaosspad. it rocks.
  7. confusing, but you still need them. you can call everything music, but otherwise mozart, squarepusher and astrix would all be the same.
  8. first of all, learn to write music and don't be "new at production" before you go performing live. when you know some stuff it'll be easier to understand what you need for a live performance and how to use it. anyway, if i were to buy gear for a live i'd get myself this: a core 2 duo laptop with a small screen (big is heavy and takes a lot of space) a real mouse to connect to the laptop - i hate those pads lol ableton live motu traveller audio i/o real synth - virus ti/ nl3 soundcraft fx16 mixer midi controller - either emu or novation - they both rock good headphones (maybe those shure monitoring headphones) that's about it i think?

  11. yea, when it's a brand new unit reading freshly baked cds. it does skip. not too often, but if the cd sucks (not scratched, sucks. there's a difference ) it'll skip.

Sennheiser CX300 is what i'm using. preety nice - this noise cancellation thing. even if you don't wanna hear music, it's like ear plugs so you don't hear all the crap people are talking on the bus/train/whatever. for home and my bedroom djing i use these: Sennheiser HD500. They don't make them anymore which is good since they suck. No high mid (try to mix without high mids! you can't hear the kick drums ffs) and the cable is fucked up. had to replace once, and this one is barely working.
  14. actually yea. pavel wasn't funny this time. radi - what did colin did to you? why you say cod is crap? /me hoping that it's funnier than pavel
  15. i foundit once not sure if it was apollo 11, but it was some nasa stuff it exists

  17. tbh, most of my tracks are "preset" tracks even though most of the time the presets sound nothing like the outcome.. but still
