yes. actually - most of the music today is made with software. VSTi's instead of synths that is. You still need good monitors,a sound card, a powerful pc and a comfortable chair.

radi - what a load of crap. really. the emotional scale you were talking about is a minor scale (and you seemed to mess it up somehow). play A minor. HEY! NO BLACK KEYS! black keys or no, it all depends on your key. the same melody can be transposed to "black keys" and some gay shitty melody can be taken from "white only" to "black" keys. not only that - most goa trace isn't even written on minor scales. a lot of eastern scales are used.

For that you need to know why a certain bass sounds good. "fat" "round" "punchy" are all nice. but how does it translate into frequencies and dynamics of the bass? try to listen in a bassline what makes it fat. does it have high freqs? how fast does the filter envelope go? when you understand how a good bass sounds - making it won't be that hard.

yep. Albino, Tau Pro, PlastiCZ. It's not what you use - it's how you use it. The bass never sound perfect "out of the box". You need to make it so using compressors, eq, distortion, whatever.
