  1. Indeed: the roots of Goa go way back: to psychedlic rock at least. BUT i never heard that music (psy-rock) until I was in my mid-twenties. First started with (commercial) dance, techno, rave, new beat and trance: than boomed me into goa trance and psychelic techno (as mentioned on the cover of the "goa head" series - I always feel psychedelic techno is a name we are forgetting too much). And to be honest I'm very happy for the way it went, cause Goa music is really a blend of all that was summed up. It is good to see people from the newer generation feel the need to discover the roots of psychelic techno and Goa trance; cause imo this is what today biggest virus is in 'neo' goa: no historical and musical background of the genre resulting in a generic/superficial sound and a diffrent perception of what a goa melody (and so melodic goa) really is.
  2. You have fully understood what we ment to do with this album! Thanks and much apprectaited PS the hard kicks might come to you in the end
  3. There is none better than: N.D.M.A. - The Answer (Gift) ...@6:40 the real magic happens, but it is only worth while listening to all of it
  4. I adore the CD and the music. Not a bad word, cause I love what Amasuka does/did already. Walking on eggs here - haha! ...but is it only me? But trough my monitors (Equator D8 - and that's not a bull shit speaker) the music sounds very noisy, especially on the high tones it is sharp and very harsh. Correct me if I'm wrong... or is it due to the source files (mp3?) that there was no option and this was the best result to obtain?
  5. Will receive the masters today, will listen for some eventualities or needed corrections and pressing will be on the way. Tomorrow we receive from Artha his text for the booklet and the art work is done... There will be an Artha set in israel the 15th October, so we are hoping to make that our official release date
  6. Come on guys: this modern production ...clean kicks with maximal mastering to finish it off (good for festival floors) Shut up and dance
  7. Please also update us on your quest for new pants
  8. Small update: 1) Tracks are being mastered next week (by M-Run) , 2) Art work is complete (by dj Psara). So in the final stages
  9. 2nd CD is really amazing: wtf!!!! Really: wtf!!!!??? How many time can someone post "wtf" before being banned wtf!!!!!
  10. Good music (in the beginning), very good & massive amounts of promo (to generate connections) and creating a hype/popular image around the band/music vibe ...and good live shows probably A formula still used generally (although not always with good music)
  11. I cried when he played first time live in Belgium. His melancholic tracks drive me crazy In Israel - as he told me - he can't even walk the streets normally any more: goa super star handing out signatures (no joke) - lol! Thanks for your honest feedback Appreciated. Let me add, well actually it is not just a mixed bag haha! Let me tell you why (cause we worked long and hard on putting a logic into the album): a ) CD 1 (compiled by dj Psara) = newer material from post 2010 - a complete new period in New Borns goa music making: harder, faster. But the focus here is "pure dance music", dancefloor stuff. b ) CD 2 (compiled by me) = all material from 2000 - 2007 - all tracks were selected on their deeper trance vibe, depth and story telling and especially the very melancholic and a bit darker feeling into them (just like 'the Observer" is - all that music is from that specific period). He and we really wanted to show both sides of New Born We hope this way we succeeded?!
  12. No hostility mate, I've bought all his DAT (mafia) releases. Just messing around a bit Life's too short not to make jokes Note: I just thought it was a bit sad that my words in the first post were interpenetrated as "bashing" which was not my intention. I just don't like the sound of the kick and baselines here Silly me ...tried Solving it with a joke (but that wasn't clear enough I see?).
  13. I just looked up the definition of "bashing": "Bashing is a harsh, gratuitous, prejudicial attack on a person, group, or subject. Literally, bashing is a term meaning to hit or assault." ...and I don't see it appear in my words here. BUT I'm happy for you, you can see more as I can, and in conclusion you have less limitations that me. Furthermore: -Hmmm, did I state that I don't like the kick and baseline cause it is modern? Nope, just don't like it at all, the sound of it just kills my mood. I heard much modern music with deeper kicks and baselines than this. I actually - SUPRISE!!! - listen to more (modern) music than only goatrance. -Hmmm, lol, and as far I can recollect I run a label that mainly releases modern made music Maybe I don't like the music we release ourselve? Draeke: you are funny
  14. Indeed. Production, mixing, story lines,... all very good indeed. Ofir shows he didn't loose any of his producing skills. At such a high end performance, also here. Qualities used on such a top level he can be concidered as one of the goa mixmasters (imo). BUT why this generic kick and baseline all over the place? Fiels so wierd and upper clean. I can't feel home in this music. Music (imo) should be first off all about that: a warm house to feel onceself at home. And that can only be if sounding deep, warm and organic - like real li/ofe.
  15. I introduced my aunt and uncle - people of almost 60 - to goatrance just a few days ago. They never heard it before. Played "UX - Master of the Universe (live remix)", and they adored it. My aunt grabed her head and stated the following: "This music does something with my brain."
  16. Why did you suddenly join psynews? I see you are new since June 2016 This isn't a 'secret' double account to search for compliments?
  17. This is the best and most complete Goa album ever made Every time I fall in love again with this one. We are married now....
  18. Maybe you'll like this compilation?! VA ‎– The Delta Force (The Delta Compilation): https://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Delta-Force-The-Delta-Compilation/release/119891 PS Back in the days (beginning 2000) there was a party organisation in Belgium - called Drona - specialising in these kinda parties. Went there a few times: hardcore...
  19. ...and no one mentioned "Baas Complex" I have 2 CDs of old material here from 1991 - 1993. Not meaning to brag, just indicating that indeed Goa music dates back to earlier than 1994... Ow God I love that sound. Just like this dj set: Can't post it enough
  20. ...and there is the proof "NOT ALL OLD IS GOLD". Myth busted!!!
  21. Bwa, would be too easy Labels like Cronomi, Spacedock, Neogoa, Suntrip,... never take any negative feedback on their music releases personal. It keep us vital and aware we have to keep on doing our best. Good for the scene, artists, labels, dj's,... to get feedback as oxygen to make the best we can
  22. Now let's wait for the first neo goa name(s) to appear? Who is brave enough
