  1. With Kapala we intened to do so: correct! When Mario and me made the track a few years ago we came up with a joke (hear the voice sample) to do exactly what you say
  2. Good luck with that. Had same experience twice. One time the CDs never came (and were returned - without any explanation) and the other load (that finally came through) was smashed like theres no tomorrow...
  3. That's gonna start a war
  4. That escalated quicly
  5. This dj set is full off very old Goa trance: "GOA party season 91-92" You can still hear al the original ingredients from Goa: trance, techno, house, acid, IDM,... I hope more neo goa acts will start again from the original blend as a base for a track, instead of copying goa sounds from the 90's...
  6. You still didn't convince me. Keep trying Haven't had any valid argument. Cause I also don't believe in parallel universes If you can post me a list of more festivals and more parties around the globe, where we can see there is a global movement, than I'm in. Still didn't see it Ask arround in all the countries around the globe. Besides Belgium and Israel there is no solid scene where you can find goa parties every week or every 2/3 weeks with a large amount off people. Yes there are countries where you have maybe one goa party every few months with - if you are lucky 100/300 people. Fact that some older acts cheer for some few neo goa guys, doesn't prove any point. The fact that there are a few festivals (who are only there in summer - so a very short period of time) are booking some neo goa doesn't proove a resurgence. Most of the acts play for only a few labels or the labels themselves co-host the line up and the festival: a resurgence means the scene spreads out more globaly and it needs more active labels imo and more festivals that are label independent and book a broader variaity of goa acts, cause they want it, not cauyse they are aflicted to a label or certain dj's or artists. Plus: before 2000 buying CDs was vital to support the scene. It means a lot. Cause if you sell your music, it means people really want it and support it This is how a scene (a small one as here) works. Local support so labels can put out new things and artists can invest it back into their music. Many labels went defunct cause of the 'all for free' attitude' of most people, and they went down. And again: goa never died out, and it didn't need any resurgence: check the discogs database: goa production after 2000 didn't die out, it went on, but was just mainly put out by many underground labels who put their music on p2p sites. The labels now, put music back on CDs with proper art work and started making goa more visible. Plus there were also goa parties after 2000, enough to state goa never died and didn't need a resurgence. I think this resurgerce thing is purely psychological. Maybe if you visited the parties before 2000, you'd know what I mean.
  7. How many festivals in the world - percentage wise - book (mainly) acts with goa, besides full on, dark, prog,...? Well, I'd be happy to see all those festival and party flyers. In Belgium and Israel I know the scene. But what other countries do you also find goa parties each week or every 2/3 weeks with only goa?
  8. Give me some arguments plz I'd be happy to hear'm. I've been in the goa music since '99, and I've never seen any prove of a real resurgence in the last years... I think labels these days just made the produced goa of today more visible buy printing it on CDs (what wasn't done by many - small labels and underground productions - from 2000 to 2005 and being dropped on p2p site etc.). The rest of my arguments you can read above... Plus, there were official real life goa shops in Belgium for years, packed with people and party organisers. i visisted them reguraly starting from 99. But all went down, no supporte nough to stay a live. No resurgence imo. And I'm sure the online market didn't compensate to talk about a massive output of sales (strickly speaking for Goa music).

    EURO 2016

We lost the two best teams, Croatia and Belgium. Very weird championship. But we (Belgium) lost 75% of our defence for that game; so I expected this to happen. To bad... My vote goes to Germany from now on!
  10. AAarghlll. Will my puppy brain be able to handle this?

    EURO 2016

Well, I was thinking the same. BUT so far no game of those games were any good...Let's hope our little Belgium can change that.
  12. Super funny how many exit voters already regret their choice: the day afther. Now that it is clear yes voters where being lied too. Really, being lied too or were they too lazy to inform themselves properly - lol! They deserve an exit: no way back if you don't want to earn democracy.
  13. Nailed it: we have a long way to go. In Belgium/Croatia(?) and Israel there is a much active scene that invites many (old skool/neo) Goa acts. BUT why I don't believe there is a Goa trance revival or resurgence? I have been puzzling long time with this question too. cause word spreads there is a revival, but I can hardly believe it. 1) In the rest of the world - and believe me I asked arround with people (artists and dj's) from Brasil, USA, Canada, Japan, Greece, Sweden, Norway, India, Spain,... - that there are almost no Goa parties (if you concider goa as neo or old skool). They all agreed goa isn't on the raise again, but only a small number of people still interested in it. And yes they are very passionate about it, and even are willing to loose money on booking big names: but a big name on a flyer doesn't make the scenes revival It is just a name on a party flyer and good promo Again: yes there are some parties outside Belgium and Israël, but mainly organised by the label owners, dj's or artists themselves. Even in Japan for example, a country that had a massive scene: label parties hardly attrackerd 50 - 100 people (I saw the pictures). Dissapointing few people, but it is what it is. Even in Brasil, where 5000 or more stand on the dance floor, but in the end very few goa acts play there and maybe in the end 200 people come for that style. On the rise again? I think it needs more... 2) If you see that labels are hardly survining, or turning just break even or have small profit margins. Not only Spiritzone, Twisted,... went down, but also the newer labels have to be carefull. Yes we sell, and yes people are enthousiastic, but I hear every label manager - who prints CDs especially - that is is hardcore to survive. A Belgian guy who has also a CD shop on parties had contact with Avatar Rec. at some time. He told me this story: they printed up to 5000/8000 copies of one CD (and sometimes more). Lol - what is printed now? between 100 and 1500 copies? How many Cds really need a reprint like some CDs 'in the golden age'? How long does it take to sell all the CDs we print now? 3) Yes an argument can be that a few selection of acts are playing, but that doesn't indicate a global movement. They are big names and are a sure thing for the organisers (due to good promo?). But that doesn't mean that your acts are an indication of revival. BUT I hope it is a sign to that - believe me 4) a) If you check the discogs database you can see there is much goa produced between 1999 and 2004. Goa really didn't die out at all. Yes, it was mainly on mp3 or free on certain p2p sites. But check it. there was enough Goa produced to state it didn't die out or was gone. So in that case I don't think Goa needs a revival now; but it can grow. that's for sure. There were a massive amount of underground and smaller goa parties with (old skool) goa. I have a collegue who made parties in that time too. Goa trance was always there, but less visable...the movement was always there. We keep on believing Goa ftw!!! Grow baby grow. Cause as stated before: there are many goa producers nowadays, and that is good. But let's wait and see.
  14. BREXIT? Very good, and I'm not panicking. WHY? Very happy they kicked their selves out. Why? Cause this is a wake up call. I have written out 3 main reasons: 1) Disinformation and lack of historical knowledge. 2) Lobby groups being able to manipulate gouvernements. 3) The lack of willing to fight for real democracy within the general population. 1) Now we can see how much disinformation can do. 'Mafia' bastards like Rubert Murdoch (together with 'the City' - their corrupt and rotten banking systhem) have been manipulating the UK government for years. By using the government getting their way and living tax and moral free in the EU. BUT at the same time taking all the benefits. Well this isn't how democracy works! I quote Gearge Orwell: "They consume without producing" Plus: the lack of historical context. The EU grew out of two horrible wars. The lack of historical context and historical awareness has won. This illustrates the almost total bankruptcy of the education of school and especially the parents. Both didn't succeed to interest new generations into this very valuable project. And they should know better, as they in the UK are so proud to have won those two horrible wars. We are the biggest democracy in the world; and that is very unique and worth fighting for. Instead of just consuming peace, our society has to change its way. Make the right offers again by thinking and being critical instead of only thinking about the next cell phone to by (made by childerns hands)! Vote always: people have died to make it possible to have that right. BUT inform yourself with valid and subtle arguments. That is how real knowledge and true democracy is born. But as Tocqueville said: "People crawl in their comfortable cocoon and enjoy the little pleasures, without investing in the society and the democracy". Nothing is free or done without effort. Society is holistic, not atomistic. 2) Funny fact: Cameron tried blackmailing (backed up by the dirty corporate of 'The City') to manipulate us in giving the UK even more free loaded benefits. Tried twisting his muscles to let the EU back off again and give'm even more benefits. But the EU didn't bend this time. I hope everyone will see that corrupt governments backed by this immoral corporate guys like Murdoch loose! We have to see this and notice we have the power ourselves. Inform yourselves!!! 3) Plus: this is a very good opportunity to a new start for the EU and realise it should be (especially the Commission) to work more democratic and less under the influence of rich lobby groups of banks and industry. So at the same time this is a really good opportunity for the EU: now let us hope the EU citizens are all enough aware of this and start doing their democratic duty and start voting more responsible instead of thinking peace, prosperity and the EU are all products we can consume or just throw away. My conclusion: Democracy and peace have their price: work for it!!! ...and don't come here with an counter argument like "Politicians are all the same"; if that would be the case, democracy would have totally been gone already. We are the true savers of democracy: time to vote, vote with knowledge and don't let yourself be pacified by laziness. Everything comes with effort. Let us give our vote to those who will NOT let themselves be manipulated by lobby groups...dicuss.
  15. Joined 15th June and banned on the 23rd of June. That escalated quickly A new record?
  16. Nailed it. BUT that gives him much space to grow...and I think he will. That's a good thing. A first album is not always the best one makes. For example: compare the production level of 1st and 2nd album of Radical Distortion - what a massive positive evolution. I talked about it with him at a party we played in israel and he agreed. Artists - if they want - can improve so much. ONLY: If everyone keeps pointing out all the good and the bad of their CD, so they can build on that and improve things. Afther some listening and listening,... What I like: -Harsh sounds like old Space Tribe could do, and edgy at the right time. -Wizzy noise-ish styled sounds (about time that type of psytrance gets a revivel). -Just a CD that took guts to make Wanting to be diffrent from what most people do today. -Deep resonating kicks and rolling bass lines. What I don't like: -Mixing could be more subtle, let the elements play more togheter. Getting a more psychedelic effect and a story line that is more subtle/complex. -Album sounds a bit noisy (hard mastering or artist?) -No real extra layer with unique sound that makes him stand out from the old Wizzy Noise style. Can't wait to hear a 2nd album and hear evolution
  17. Not a big fan of most Ultimae stuff (no secret). BUT this one is amazing!!! THX @ Jagoa Thx for the support mate !!! What's your favourite track?
  18. Written evidence: I feel like I'm in court (take me to jail). About Apsara: I think it was the best compilation you guys made. No double meaning...and yes, it is no secret I don't like most of the music you release. But I don't like 'neo' goa in general (I think is pretty clear to most on this forum). But what I like, I like! Even if it isn't all off it... Again in short: This CD I liked and still like a lot. For exmple: I still get many requests for a succesor of "erta alé". I do the same now with you, request/ask what the future holds. In the past we saw many labels doing that: make successors of compilations and worked out whole series of it (cf. Goa Head,...). I wish I had more money to do it too
  19. The track title says it all ...the subtle melancholy in the melodies makes it even stronger imo!
  20. Who would you choose and why? Just wondering... (I made up my choice - indeed).
  21. ...and the new album will have the same effect on you: a joy for ever Well, we talked yesterday and all tracks are almost all finished. I expect them within 2/3 weeks. He wants it to be very perfect until the last end and details ...even more perfect than I already expect of our artists
  22. Yes, why not? I always called it "full on", but imo much more intelligent design as the main stream full on. Correct me if I'm wrong
  23. Like I said: I can't give any complete funded comment on mastering job if I didn't hear the source track (naked without mastering and without limiters on the master channel to have an idea of the dynamics of the track). When you listen a bought CD, you can maybe hear the music is too loud, or other general stuff. But maybe the track was very noisy and the mastering was done at its best OR the track was good and the label wants loud music (for example). -> That is why I hestite in statements about mastereing of a particulair CD. What I do can say is that these days music sounds (much) louder than in the 90's (what I don't always like): but is that mastering or production? I think both; BUT to give a detailed comment on the mastering alone, I need - like I said - the naked track. Otherwise I don't dare to fully comment the mastering job. I might give hinst or pop questions, yes. To get more clearness about the proces. Again: full details I can only give when I can compare unmastered track and mastered track togheter. For example: one can fuck up a good produced track with bad mastering by making it too loud or distord the balance or cut away the top layers of the music, destroy the dynamics, tare the under layers all open to obtain more loudness/power (some called it in the past maximal mastering for dance floors and festivals). That is why I say: I can't really pick an album that needs remastereing, cause I have none of the source tracks. I feel it as unfair, commenting on mastering without knowing the complete story of the music. BUT that doesn't mean, like IMBA stated above, you can comment on loudness of music. I agree 100%. It's just my opinion. BUT I like to give comments and feedback with the right amount of arguments, and I don't have'm to fully judge the mastering of all these albums. Doesn't mean I wouldn't request any remastereing, just to know what the diffrence would be. For example: I like the silent version of the Etnica track a bit more than the louder one. I actually don't like both 100%, but if I had to choose, I'd opt for the first one. Still, the first version is much more smooth, but some percussion details aren't there; so in that view I like the 2nd one more (but imo it is way too loud on the high tones). It is nice to be able to compare - that is correct! In general I don't like loudness at all PS A quick question: "what is the real diffrence between a digital and analog master?"
