I fully agree on this one. Simon Posford tuned the track up quiet a lot. Also The Overlords - Naked people (Man with no name full moon at disco valley remix) Astral Projection - Mahadeva 99 Eat Static - Beni Incus (Man with no name Remix) Astral Projection - God is a DJ Remix

In my opinion their music doesn´t sound uninspired, but a bit simple and repetative. The tracks consist of two or three main melodies that continue through the whole song without much of a climax. Some of the melodies are great and emotional and make some of the tracks sound great, but the music should really sound brighter with more focus on the heights. That would make the music sound broader and more open as it does now. Their sound doesn´t have many heights and lacks atmosphere that way. If I imagine some of their tracks with the sound of Electric Universe they would really make a point, for example blue Pyramid.
-
If they want to hear some music that resembles goa trance give them some music from the 90s b0s from the labels Dragonfly, Phonokol, Trust in Trance, Transient, Spirit Zone. The best artists of those labels ofcourse are Electric Universe, Astral Projection, Man with no name, Hallucinogen, The Infinity Project, and all the British artists like Voodoo People, Paul Jackson, Youth, Ayahuasca, and similar. Those artists produced the most fammous tracks in my opinion, but ofcourse there are many other artists with great tracks that resemble goa trance.

Yes, my first reply was rude, but after I understood that he didn´t mean to offend me I changed my language and halfway apologized, but even after I did that he went on posting rude words in his posts.
-
you are right, but that was before I knew that he didn´t try to insult me by pointing out that I am wrong about an architect and an interior designer. After this post his language became very rude and violent and showed that, even though the case was closed to me, he went on with his rude language.
-
Gongratulations. As you say I can see why you were punched in clubs, pubs and raves. You make an elephant out of a fly and then go on and put me on your ingore list altough nothing serious has happened. This decision of yours yet again demonstrates your attitude.

Whatever you say Balance-Music. I believe you that the occupation is not the same or remotetly the same and I accept that. What I found insultive is that at first you did not commend the picture or said what taste you have and then you said the picture is crap. I don´t use such terms usually and I am not someone who constantly insults other people, in this case me. Since this discussion started you are not able to express yourself without using insults. Why do you have to do that? Isn´t there another way you can express yourself or are you so upset that I said an architect and an interior designer are not the same because your father works in that area? Keep easy, I did not insuolt neither you nor your father and if you think otherwise I guess you are insulted very easily. It was not my intention to insult any person, you however used insultive language to express yourself.
-
It is funny to see how you two don´t know another way to help yourself out as to overexaggerate and claim I said things which I never did. For example I did not say an architect and an interior designer are the same, I just said they are not completely different. In my understanding there is a difference between the adjectives different and the same.
-
Indeed it is like a butcher and a cook, and that is not completely different. Both occupations are in the same range of occupations, and an architect and an interior designer are even closer because both occupations have todo with design. Besides that I don´t know why youa re arguing in favor of Balance-Music. In his posts he showed that he is using rude and violent language and that doesn´t speak in favor of him. After I said that I misunderstood him and thought he wanted to point out that I am wrong, I thought we could argue in a normal tone, but he went on and said the picture looks like crap. I for example would not use such a language to something posted in a forum even if I don´t like it. I can´t remember that I ever said newschool or full-on is crap.

In my opinion the difference between home listening and party listening is not that big when you have good headphones or a good sound system. The most important thing are the details your speakers or headphones can play in a song or can´t. If the dtails are good you don´t need extreme volume in order to enjoy your favourite music. The details you can hear make the biggest difference in the listening experience. If the music sounds rough and fragmented it is not a lot of fun to listen to and you don´t get the real sound of the song. If the details are crisp and smooth, the listening experience is much better. -
And you think you know what I like and what I don´t like. You don´t know me and therefore can´t judge whether I don´t like it when other people think differently than me. It seems I misunderstood you because I really thought that you wanted to correct me which you didn´t want as you say. I would be sorry for that if your other posts wouldn´t have been so rude and disrespectful. the fact that you say that you would beat me up because of what I said shows that you hae violent thoughts, thus, your last post shows how disrespectful you are because you say the room in the photo looks like crap. Well, I am really sorry for you that you can´t find other words to express yourself more respectuflly, it shows your general leven of communication and intelligence. If you were more respectful, you would not sue a word like crap to describe something that other people might like. I don´t use words like crap to commend on stuff on forums or in general. I say what I don´t like and don´t offend other people with gossip language. On top of that you still think that interior designer and an archtigect are absolutely different occupations while they are not. They have it´s difference, but they share similarities aswell. For example both jobs deal with design of houses or apartments. The difference is that the archtiect designs the house itself while the interior designer styles the rooms. Therefore the two occupations share it´s similarities despite being different, but not completely different. If you think both occupations are completely different I think you misunderstood something and should thin again about the differences and the similarities and compare an architect and an interior designer to other occupations like for example a car mechanic or a butcher. Those occpupations don´t deal with design and have nothing to do with building and styling a house. I hope you can see that your judgment of which occupation is different is fload.
-
So as an architect I would design the interior of my house in first place and not hire someone to design it for me. As you say the architect plans the house and therefore he plans where the walls of the rooms will be and where the windows and doors will be. In my opinion that has a lot to do with interior design because the size and shape of the rooms and the position of the windows and of the doors is very important for the design of a room anyway. In a house with nice shapes I can choose myself where the furniture and the lighting will be. I would not require an interor designer. It is better to style your room yourself as to hire an interior designer. Besides that if you don´t want to read such insults maybe you express yourself better; instead of contributing one part to the thread and saying what you think about the design of the room in the picture in the first post, you went on and said an architect is completely different to an interior designer because you wanted to correct me.
-
And by what criteria is it different? The difference is that there are indeed two kinds of occupations called architect and interor designer, but in general both are architects since the architects are responsible mostly for the design of a house. They are less resposible for the statics and the stability of the house, there are other occupations that are responsible for those areas of the house. So I would say your attempt to say something that makes me look stupid wasn´t succesful, it rather made you look stupid since you say that those occupations are completely different which they obviously aren´t. The two occupations share many similarities. Completely different is an architect to a workman.

Impressive. All tracks in that list are impressive and rare, except The Detla - Travelling at the speed of thought. It is a great track, but not as rare as the other tracks. Great collection and I am curious to read the names of the missing tracks.

It doesn´t really matter if the artist uses software or hardware. The only thing that matters is that he has good monitors or headphones and is able to create good sound out of his synths, no matter whether it is hardware or software. There are many software synths that can generate a great sound if modulated properly and with the right effects choosen. If the artist has full control over his sounds he can do anything he wants to. I have bad gear for example and created good sounds in my few tracks. If I would be working on music I would be able to create very warm sounding sounds. The rason for this is that I am not someone who cares about names and brands and work with cheap or freeware synths that provide really good sound. Most expensive software synths are not like that; they produce too clean and cold sounding sounds and the listener can hear it. The cheaper synths produce more rough and uncontrolled sounds which are perfectly suitable for goa trance. A very important thing with synthesizzers is that they are able to hold the key and have a very high impulse rate. If they can´t hold the key and the impulse rate is low it doesn´t sound right to the listener and he can hear that the sound is digital just like when the eye sees a game running with low framerate. Some synthsounds have a low rate but still sound clean because the tone itself has a high rate. That is the case with hardware synths, but unfortunately not with many software synths. -
I want to ask how goa trance sounds on a great hifi with great speakers and a great soundcard or a high resolution cd player? I only own cheap Microlab C15 speakers and Sennheiser MX 580 earphones. The earphones are pretty good and they are regarded as some of the best earphones on headfi.org. They are connected to a creative Audigy 2z5 which is a pretty good soundcard, but ofcourse no high end. The best soundsystem I have listened to on a barable volume had two Magnat quantum 805 speakers. The Magnat Quantum 805 had just the sound I liked. Music was very atmospheric and detailed. The details where incredible and everything was on place. The frequency curve was great and the speakers did not sound aggressive at any volume level. When you played them on low volume they souned as easy going as headphones, as if nothing is moving the air. In my opinion that is great sound when speakers don´t sound aggressive or tired. The Magnat Quantum 805 sounded great on high volume aswell and kept the fresh sound. Some people like when the speakers sound aggressive when they are loud because they can get more from it. I prefer clean sound on low and higher volumes without aggressive or tiring sounding. When the sound is too aggressive it feels like the sound is not really stable and out of control, it loses focus. Many cheaper speakers loose control on higher volumes. What is great sound for you and how does your hif system sound like? Does it sound clean and tight or warm and aggressive.

Bypass Unit Zenia (Fat Freddy Mix '97) The album version of this track is one of the best tracks ever produced in goa trance history when it comes to the style of Colorbox and Bypass unit. The energy, happyness and geniuity of that track are remarkable and in my opinion this track is the definition of goa trance, but mostly the album version. The E.P. edition is too slow in my opinion and the key is set too low. Another just as impressive sounding track is Terpsichore - Bogakka. Very melodic and full sounding. It sounds like it is night outside.
-
Exactly man, thanks a loooooooot!!! The second track is one of the best goa trance tracks with the colorbox sound, I have to listen to all other tracks by them.

I love the Infinity project and it is one of my favourite bands, but they are more linear in sound than Koxbox. Koxbox is not as linear as other goa trance acts and much mroe experimental. That is the reason why I thought it is psychedelic trance and not goa trance, even the old albums. Now people pointed out that Koxbox is goa trance aswell and I accept it. Not that someone gets me wrong: I do like Koxbox a lot, but I did not think it is goa trance, that is all. Besides that I do think that Boris Blenn, Astral, Etnica and MWNN are the absolute pioneers of goa trance and Koxbox is not on the same level. -

ou can wyou wt icchpa, but many people label Hhallucinogen - The Lone Deranger as psytrance instead of goa trance and the music on The Lone Deranger is more linear than the music on Dragon tales. In my opinion goa trance is more linear than psytrance and not as experimental. Psytrance is more experimental and that´s the reason why it can be labelled as such. Goa trance is more focused on melody and acid sounds, but if Dragon Tales is labeled goa trance, then I am the one who is wrong here it seems. -

You have the track Mars, you can download it from soundcould. Do you want the whole compilation? I guess we wont be able to identify it and I find it a big shame that most people only know the fammous releases and don´t know the really good releases. I had many really good tracks that I did never hear by looking into discogs, and it seems that the community here is limited to what´s on discogs aswell. I think there is a lot of goa trance out there that sounds impressive but we don´t know about, just as the tracks I had on the compilations but I don´t know where they are. The big artists like Boris Blenn, Martin Freeland, Astral Projection and co. are impressive, but there are so many impressive tracks that we don´t know that I really think it is a shame. -
Can anyone tell me the artists that sound like colorbox and bypass unit. Their style is very unique and more asia like as the other goa trance styles. The music is very powerful and energetic and has something sweet. It sounds a bit like eastern influenced but not like newschool, but different. The melodies are very strong and the sound is a little aggressive, which I like. I had a cd with many tracks in that style, but I lost it unfortunately. Can someone name me other groups that sound like that? I know about the album goa trance 3 which is not bad, but I had a much better album like that with very interesting tracks. It doesn´t appear on discogs, unfortunately. On that compilation Cyanid by Colorbox was the first track. After that an impressive track followed that sounded similar to colorbox, but softer. I wish I could find that compilation. Psygone sounds like that aswell.

Thanks for the tip, must listen to some Typhoon releases. By the way I don´t think the track sounds like some nitzhonot. It is pure goa trance, but a bit more simplistic maybe like the tracks by Guy sabbag. Those tracks aren´t nitzhonot either.
