  1. The first abbassi brothers track was pretty dull. Didn't make me want to listen to anymore anyway.
  2. Hence the name Trance. It's enTRANCing
  3. Speaking of Asura, only the first album for me sounds like Aes Dana. This was when vince was still part of it.
  4. Aes Dana is a strange one, When I listen to Aes Dana I don't feel how unique he is but it is hard to think of similar artists. He msut be pretty unique then ay? Listen to Asura - Code Eternity. Each track is like an Aes Dana album, really ambient parts aswell as upbeat stompy parts. Also try Distant System - Spiral Empire which you may like too.
  5. I think this is more of a grower than WoS so listen to it lots in many different states
  6. I think it's the mental connection that I make with the material product. As I have it (and have paid for it) I give it a lot more time. For example, I just finished reviewing Robert Davies - Shadow Dreams and I think if I had downloaded it I would have found it boring and deleted it but as I had bought it I gave it time and patience which paid off
  7. When are you coming to Japan?
  8. Solar Quest - Orgisms/Orgship
  9. Robert Davies Shadow Dreams In Darkness Dreaming Fungi Nebulae

    Eyes Wide Shut

I was disappointed by the movie. It is not bad as such but had a lot of hype & was quite boring in parts. Also had a very weak ending.
  11. Damn good price you got it for. Well done
  12. He might not be one of the original pioneers but Anthony Paul Kerby has pushed the genre forward well with a lot of very high quality releases under a few different aliases my favourite being The Circular Ruins
  13. I agree. I find physical releases essential as somehow I cannot get into digital only releases. I had Koxbox - Dragon Tales on mp3 for ages & never got into but as soon as I got the CD I really really enjoyed it I wish I could enjoy downloaded music more but ....
  14. I bought this by mistake, but it was a good mistake! Hope to review it some time soon
  15. The abstract/unusual stuff is great
  16. Hell yeah that's a great track
  17. I agree with Drosophila the long dreamy intros & the downbeat track at the end usually add bookends to the journey. I myself don't like it when an album just starts full pace then ends abruptly still at full pace. That is what (for me) most of the worst albums do. And yes, crap albums have to put their best or most memorable tracks at the end to leave an impression. Impressive albums have no need for such cheap tricks. Cliche or not I like the downbeat tracks at the end of albums just like I like slower tracks towards the end of a DJ set.

4.5/10 would be just below average in my ratings too. I recently saw Shutter an american remake of a Thai movie that I am sure was better but this one was pretty good in my book. The story is a bit cheesy, Spirit Photos where you can see the ghosts only in photos (or sometimes reflections) but it gets better as it unfolds and the I was quite moved in the end. The final image was one of the most haunting I have seen. 6/10 (Just above average, enjoyable)
  19. That sucks Bombard them with emails and phone calls until you get this sorted out
