What music are you listening to right now?

Great! Sounds like something I'd really like. Cheers guys

Yeah, we don't need another artist overusing cheesy samples in this day & age
-
You could be right. I've always had decent speakers or at least good headphones & I've always been able to see differences between artists. Then again I have always been one for subtlety, I like minimal & everything

Do you feel goa/psy can compare with classical music?
abasio replied to karan129's topic in General Psytrance
Yes! Bach for me is quite trippy, as is Holst & quite a few others. I think people here Mozart & judge all classical on his work! For me Mozart is the pop of classical. I find his work cheesy & to be honest boring & irritating. Simple & childish so I can't listen for too long. I know my opinion is a really unpopular one but hell...... I find Mozart cheesy & crap -
Explanations can't really do it justice. It's almost like an extra sense, a sense to "see" music. Like some people can see auras I suppose (I wouldn't know as I can't see auras) but for me to try & explain what I see. Imagine looking at a brightly lit room with a lot of items in it. Suddenly close your eyes & you can still see the after image. Now make that after image more vivid colours & have it move & phase in & out. Have it move towards you & away from you in a recurring loop that's difficult to pull out of. As I said, it's hard to put into words!

Have you been raiding my recently played CDs Payam? Good choices, looking forward to the next absolute ambient release. NP Summer Sirocco Live -
Thinking of including it in my next upbeat order. Can't think of much else to go with it though

Shulman - Invention Damn good track, really! Didn't like it at all at first but now after 100s of listens & rewinds it still gives me goose bumps

No! Some people (like me) "Suffer" from synaesthesia see colours whenever they hear music (or anything in my case) Nothing to do with drugs

1. Morning/Dark balance 70% dark, but deep dark not shit dark. 2. Maximal/Minimal balance 50% minimal but with a lot of subtlety hidden underneath 3. Trance/Techno balance Rhythmical but entrancing. 50/50 4. Genre balance Psytrance, techno, ambient mixed in together. 5. BPM 140~146 6. Signature 4/4 7. Lenght Epic, if it can go on for 30 minutes then do it! If not then 15 minutes will do 8. Melodies Subtle 9. Bassline Must move! Must move like a melody! Must not take over the track. 10. Percussion Status Sub beats under a steady beat that misses every 12th, 16th or 20th beat. 11. Intro/Outro Long & ambient building/falling slowly 12. Layers Multi-layered. lots of craziness but must be subtle layers 13. Build Ups/Climaxes One or two only & should build up over a long time. The first should build up & then kick off with less energy than the buld up, the second should just go nuts. 14. Twists/Breaks/Turns/Changes I like my changes to either be really quick or really slow. One of each please. 15. Spoken samples/Singing/Real Organs No! Samples can be good but the perfect track doesn't need one. Perfect synaesthesia color: Gun metal grey. Tracks that fit my description the best: Stuff on FRR 1996 to 2001 Black Rhino Live In Germany Slipstream

Jaia - After the Rain Cosmosis - Afterglow D5 - Flow Filteria - Cloud Kingdom (Solar Fields Remix)

What track? A track that all 3 of those places would be perfect must be an odd track
-
Good idea, if they have them in a decent quality format

I wish I could mix upbeat music better, it's something I'm working on. My problem is that I don't really like beat matching as I find a continuous flow of music with no variety in the rhythm quite boring. I like to stop & start & have sudden changes. This is what I've been going for without too much success. I am trying for a short(ish) mix though so here is my work in progress. Some of it goes really well (for my taste) some not so much Bamboo Forest - Voyager  Sienis - Phinary being the worst culprit. The rest is alright. Tracklist 1. Death Snare Pussies - Pussy Whipped 2. Principles Of Flight - A Heavy Responsibility 3. Deviant Species - A Night To Dismember 4. EvsY - High On Heels 5. The Green Nuns Of The Revolution - Thunder Thighs 6. Bamboo Forest - Voyager 7. Sienis - Phinary 8. Sattel Battle - Fuck It 9. Reality Pixie - Phloem Of TLSG 10. Cydonia - Haunted World 11. Koxbox - Searching For Psychoactive Herbs Link

Still waiting for the new album. Have recently been playing Nighttime Lullabies a lot again & still really really enjoy it.

Principles Of Flight - A Heavy Responsibility A mix of Fullon and D&B with classical & dark ambient influences. An excellent track from an excellent album. The bassline may not be the most exciting & original ever used but the atmosphere is sublimely original (to me). It really gives the feel like I'm in the woods of some fairy tale, a dark one & I'm running from something. Excellent throughout.

The Green Nuns Of The Revolution - Thunder Thighs Gotta love the Green Nuns :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
