  1. Well they know first hand what feels good! So if they enjoy doing it I'm sure they could be better. Who did you hear that from anyway?
  2. hehe me too actually just finished my review of it I'm liking it a lot so far
  3. Welder Vines & Streams Cyberset 2006 Tracklist 01 Rain (6:30) 02 Ants are Small (3:08) 03 Purple & Orange (7:27) 04 Crosshatch (5:16) 05 Valeez (4:28) 06 In the Park (5:26) 07 Shiva (6:56) 08 Distance (5:04) 09 Find You Here (6:35) 10 And We’re Dying (5:35) 11 Isle of Skye (6:34) 12 The Heart (6:36) I bought this one completely blind! The cover looked nice & the titles made me think that this must be some soft natural trippy journey So, was I right. Well yes & no. I didn't expect this to quite so upbeat but I also wasn't expecting it to be this good. Oh yes it's a good one!! 1. Rain Soft & dreamy with trip hop beats. A nice simple shifting melody feels like soft grass between my toes. 2 seperate vocal samples, one continuous child like chant another one sounds like a telephone chat which gives this track an urban nature feel. Like a big park in the middle of the city surrounded by skyrise. 2. Ants are Small A cool marching beat sets this track up. Squelchy electronic sounds gives this track a very positive up beat tone. It's warm like summer it's cool like the wind 3. Purple & Orange Starts of with an oriental sounding (but not oriental) melody, like san francisco china town. The beat kicks in to give it another urban feeling. Nice chimes some bluesy guitar as well as Spanish ones makes this track just a little bit lovely 4. Crosshatch This track is pretty industrial sounding (for the album) Heavy beats, background noises reminiscent of factory machines clunking away all under a very weird twisted melody. Good Stuff! 5. Valeez Hip Hop beats, colourful melody which sounds like random penny whistle sounds that have somehow come together into a tune that's easy on the ears. The track shifts about & has a very disjointed feel to it at times. It changes again & again in feel so that at the end it's either sounding melancholic or just feeling sorry for itself 6. In the Park You can hear the sounds of kids playing in the park throughout. The track as a whole feels like I'm driving past the park in the car, maybe leaving the city forever & feeling a bit sad about it. The beats are amazing the melody blue. The synths too make this as a sad track. I love it 7. Find you Here Ah.... a middle eastern sounding track. Not my favourite style usually. It has that instrument that you always here surrounding stoned hippies in the movies, the one that always manages to sound tuneless & which I find really annoying. Anyway here it is. To be honest it's used quite well & welder has managed to eek out some kind of tune from it. But seeing as I hate the instrument it kinda ruins the track for me. The times without it are sublime 8. Shiva Continues with the same vibe, the same instrument. At least these track are actually playing a melody and not the tuneless drone I heard when travelling through the middle east or china. The track is actually really good after you get past the intro & before the instrument returns. It has a nice beat, cool background sounds & a long beautiful drawn out synth like vocal. 9. Distance I knew I'd find you here, the time has come This track is back in my good books. Seems like we have been travelling east in this album & we've gotten into a Chinese kung fu movie. From the beats to the sample to the vocals it has a very Kung Fu (the TV show) feel to it. But much cooler 10. And We're Dying Feels like I've just been walking through some remote mountainside, miles & miles from civilisation but when I get to a peak I can see in the valley below a temple full of Beings, chanting! The track as you may guess from the title is quite sad in a beautiful way. Well placed lyrics sung well, sound nice. A great track 11. Isle of Skye A bit heavier now, beat wise, with a beautiful vocal sample in the background dragged out like a long haunting synth. Underneath a techy little melody. It sounds traditional & modern all at once. I'd say it sounds like Japan but it sounds nothing like you'd expect with no Japanesey things in it, just the feeling. 12. The Heart A twisted mix of sounds to finish us off. Not sure how this track makes me feel but it's a good feeling there is no doubt about that. There is amazing guitar in this. Think acoustic but cut up & twisted into something much cooler. Great track to finish a great album All in all I feel like this albums has a journey quality to it. The opening 6 tracks make me feel like I'm in western cities but tas the album progresses it seems to trek east! Not many of you have probably heard of this album, the label - cyberset only has one other release which I will be sure to check out after the strength of this album. Favourites 6, 9, 10
  4. Oh & it's spring here. The cherry blossoms are in bloom outside my house. The national flower of Japan sums up the whole country. Very beautiful but a short lived obsession for most Sakura

  8. Well there was a big question mark hanging over this one wasn't there? Everyone knew it was going to be absolute shite becasue infected mushroom want to actually make some money so have tried to become mainstream. making music for people who might actually buy it instead of downloading it even if they love it. Fair enough I think. I just have a few questions about this release. Is it Psy? No Does it have psy influences? Some Does it have guitars? Yes Are the guitars done well? Yes (mostly) Does it have vocals? Yes Are they shite? A lot of them, yes Do they ruin tracks? yes Is it cheesy? Hell yes Is it fun? Quite Is this enjoyable cheese made well? Yes Are you going to like if you are a psy/goa/oldschool purist? No Will you like it you have an open mind? Maybe Is it for everyone? No way Abasio, do you like it? Yeah, it's okay Tracklist 1 Becoming Insane (7:20) 2 Artillery (4:28) 3 Vicious Delicious (7:24) 4 Heavy Weight (8:41) 5 Suliman (6:10) 6 Forgive Me (3:29) 7 Special Place (6:53) 8 In Front Of Me (4:28) 9 Eat It Raw (6:30) 10 Change The Formality (7:44) 11 Before (6:57) 1. Becoming Insane Spanish Guitars, electric guitars, dodgy vocals but it all seems to work well together. It feels summery like at a beach party surrounded by bikini clad beauties shaking there thing!! 2. Artillery Sounds like it belongs on Converting Vegetarians (CV) The Other Side but I like this more than anything I heard on that CD. It's a cool funky track & I think my favourite so far on this album. 3. Vicious Delicious This title track is great! It has melody, pace, energy, psy sounds & an interesting baseline. It's emotional if a little cheesy. It has everything that can make you cringe but it's all done pretty well so sounds kinda good 4. Heavyweight Guitars, some weird vocal sample. This track could have been disastrous but it's made well & ended up sounding pretty good. I've heard a lot of people say this is the best on the album but I don't think so. It's okay but I'm afraid it is the start of the decline of this album. Some of the guitars verge on the annoying towards the end of the track 5. Suliman Sounds like Infected Mushroom circa BP Empire but not quite as good. Thumping good beat, interesting sounds. Just ok 6. Forgive Me Vocoder Short CV other side material but not very good 7. Special Place Cheesy Cheesy build up!!! Starts trancey & it's okay then does this big long drum roll & drops into this CV Other side style track. It's shite!!! The vocals are bloody awful! 8. In Front Of Me More vocals but they fit a lot better into this track. The difference here is that the singer can actually sing quite well. It's not great, it's nothing to do with psy at all, it's very popish but it's okay for what it is. I am just dreading Dudev's cover of this at the festivals. 9. Eat it Raw Similar vein to Suliman, sounds a lot like BP Empire just not as good. Drum rolls & break downs make it sound a bit like a cheesy dancefloor killer but it's quite fun 10. Change the Formality Starts noisy with no real direction, a nice melody halfway through & a decent beat. The it's ruined by some shit vocals. SHITE!!! 11. Before Instantly forgettable but after a few listens it turned out pretty good. Makes you wonder why infected don't have to projects. Stuff like this & mainstream pop! All in all then this is quite a mixed bag. Some tracks are really good, some are a bit cheesy but quite alright and then 2 tracks are just ruined by shitty shitty shitty vocals. I don't get who finds these vocals to be good but obviously some people do so there they are. As an album I like it. It makes me smile at times, cringe at times but I think I'll be listening to this a bit this summer! One last point about infected mushroom. There albums always sound better than there live shows. I know we will be seeing some shocking performances on youtube come summer with Dudev being a prick & ruining every track as the crowd goes nuts to his tone deaf stylings I'm not going to complain about selling out becasue if I had talent & the opportunity I definately would. They do not make psy trance any more. I don't know what this style is, it has a lot of different influences & it's probably there own style, they are pioneers maybe Either way, Infected Mushroom have talent, like their style of not it's true. Don't dislike this just because it's not pure Psy! Give it a chance. Favourites 1, 2!, 3 Fucking awful tracks 7!!! 10!
  9. the nippon express man just paid me a visit & handed my a package containing these
  10. Yeah! Money man! I love it & even if I'm dissapointed I don't begrudge other people making it!
  11. How about if the album truly sucks, in everyway? It's not a fullon sellout or whatever but just crap?
  12. People use it for different things but it is the sound of a dunce (very low intelligence person) when trying to think but can't understand duuuuuhhhhhhh..... people now say it sarcastically to show that what someone has just said is stupi/obvious eg A. You know radi likes hallucinogen B. Well Duh!! edit: I used it to indicate that I was a dunce because I couldn't choose
  13. *drools* <<<<< shouldn't put anything else on my Visa this month but I may have to now.
  14. I recently bought a Cell live set It has really really got me excited about a new album. It was
  15. Only the sycophants I really like hallucinogen but also agree Simon P is overrated. Just the fact that he has sycophants that would describe his farts as "classic" shows this Not at all, I feel special that my favourite artists are ones that are not unique. That I own a CD that only another 200 hundred people in the whole world have etc. The masses listen to Britney Spears & their taste should not be coveted
  16. Pioneer : one who is first or among the earliest in any field of inquiry, enterprise, or progress surely we can count people who helped progress the sound aswell?
  17. I voted duh?? becasue I didn't know what to vote for! I love the beat the most but everything is important & it 'S the combination of everything that makes a track!
  18. I should be recieving a nice package today But it's recorded delivery & I have to go out so I'll more than likely have to wait until friday
