  1. I agree with how you expressed it but not your vision. Bluetech and save the robot were bith quality in my humble opinion. just not top 5 standard. maybe after a couple more listens but that'll be too late.
  2. Shit yeah! This one finally clicked. I stuck it on at work when I was hungover and feeling shit and pretending to be useful and all the quality just got under my skin and into the middle of my diseased brain. It was nice! I like.
  3. His 1st effort was fucking fantastic, to be honest the 1st half of his 2nd attempt left me dry but blow me (please do) the 2nd half was so good I could have wet myself. A few remixes might be quite good. the ones on the last entheogenic, including a shulman one were really nice. and bluetech's two in the middle of signs and singularities were nice too. I'll buy.
  4. Fly was a damn good track! If the rest of the album is up to that standard it'll be a 2006 highlight imo. Really looking forward to this one. Hope it gets released here early.
  5. That does look like an impressive line up. Quality artists from start to finish. lets hope they deliver some scintilating stuff!
  6. jaia - evolving to outside really makes me not want to go to work damn it.
  7. Aye man some of the Ambivalent stuff might really fit the bill, weren't the last 2 deviant species albums on ambivalent? I liked the compilation, there is no tomorrow but I forget the label. If it doesn't have to be uptempo I would recommend Amethystium, pretty dark (but not nightmarish like no tommorow) and haunting. If you want something trully nightmarish, try some loftgroover mixes from the early to mid 90s. Made one of my mates shit himself in his sleep. That was proper gabba stuff though so i have no idea where to get it (its not psychedelic just scary)
  8. Im listening to this album now for like the 5th time. While I feel its a really good album, it's just not getting through to me. It has everything I like in this style, the beats are good, there are nice floaty sounds, the base comes through nicely on my home stereo and beautifully through me headphone. All the ingredients are there but I feel a little dissapointed when I listen to it. Maybe its a mood thing. Is this music so perfect that my brain has to be tuned into the axact frequency to enjoy it fully. I hope not, I've kind of given up on my brain doing what I want it to. I listened to Makyo's Yakshini album last night and while I think the quality of the album as a whole was not as good as this one, it hit me int the right way! I know this will hit me at some point but, DAMN IT!! Why can't it be right now.
  9. Simon looks like a really slimey australian I used to live with and every time I see his picture i imagine him having school girls come to his house to "watch Videos" by the way, what do you study where you have lectures on psy? the most psychedelic thing I had at college was chasing a white rabbit.
  10. I'd reccomend JP Noir. A compilation on b.p.f records featuring KURO, Charm, and other japanese artists. Its pretty minimal, dark and futuristicly haunting. I like!
  11. looking forward to the western rebel alliance, it's about time.
  12. In my experience, live artists play all their tunes that you know and love where as a live PA has all their samples and beats and stuff all pre recorded and they make new tunes on the night. could be wrong though, my memory of who was a live PA is hazy.
  13. I got old and fat and I really started enjoying Chilled stuff more than up tempo stuff (dakini btw has some spine tinglingly beautiful down tempo releases) but I got some decent head phones and there's something about listening to faster stuff when your on the move. Take it from me, buy yourself a pair of headphones for a couple of hundred euros, stick on something like rock bitch and walk down to the shops. It's Fantastic!!
  14. Phreaky - Over the Moon The Muses Rapt - Spiritual Healing Western Rebel Alliance - Slewake Twisted Travellers - Strange Creatures Purple Om - Armageddon Dub Tripswitch - Shamanic Tea & Deer Park The Infinity Project - The Answer Union Jack - No Armageddon Amethystium - Shadow to Light
  15. Shaolin Wooden Men - Supermindway Which is just fucking Nuts Infected Mushroom's - I'm the supervisor sounds like dark 80's funk mixed with trance, not heard that anywhere else. The Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation I know its not psy but it is so famous and no one has even maneged to successfully copy liam's style that I think it should be here
  16. BUS - morebusinesslinkyouthere Really nice stuff I'd highly recommend it if you fancy it!
  17. Just got it in the post this afternoon, giving it its first listen now. all can say so far is WoW!
  18. As you're going to Japan you should check out JP Noir on b.p.f records, its a really good japanese comp. very cool and sounds very futuristic just like tokyo or minato mirai 21. ps Japanese record shops are great place to find all the rare stuff you've been looking for and lots of stuff gets released here first. have fun
  19. I bought a lot of albums this year, some of it great, some of it average some of it dissapointing, some of it awful I unfortunately bought Bamboo Forest - Revival this was dissapointing and shit I liked Shpongle's contribution to 2005 even if it was a bit dissapointing it was still top notch.
  20. Don't think anything is really 10/10 although a lot come close
  21. 1 Tripswitch - Circuit Breaker 2 Entheogenic - Dialogue of the Speakers 3 Shpongle - Nothing Lasts... (unashamedly) 4 Makyo - Swara Mandala 5 Jaia - Fiction Not a fantastic year for psy trance releases but there have been some quality laid back releases. Tripswitch - Circuit Breaker is pure class. Lets have some real quality in the trance releases this year.
  22. As for the Classsical Mushroom similarity: listen to The Shen and Conciousness. 90% ripoff in the middle part. I thought that too. This albums okay but some of the drugs samples get really irritating on repeated listens.
  23. Puff Dragon Sazanami 1. Sazanami 2. Qi Gong 3. Chinese Radio (Beijing Taxi Version) 4. Marine Drive 5. Spacefunk 6. Skin as Soft (soft as silk remix) 7. Lava 8. Shimmer (Liquid lounge version) Qi Gong is a very nice track and a stand out on the album but credit must also be given to Skin as Soft and Lava which are also just beautiful. The whole albums lovely and flows together nicely but these three pieces stand out like a standing ovation. Top stuff Puff Dragon. Ps the New Makyo Album is even better. Check out the last 3 tracks at least if yu like Dakini's style.
  24. Psychedelia stirs emotion from the soul! All music should be able to do this but unfortunately there is a whole load of crap out there. The best psy trance really moves you as does quality laid back stuff. Leave the genre and you still get really psychedelic stuff. Listen to Enigma's 3rd album, very Trippy! or some of Enya's early work could produce hallucinations without drugs. Its just a shame most people listen to STEPS or Take That, music? Im not sure. It definately doesnt stir any emotion in me. Come to Japan where the pop is so bad it sounds like a rusty hinge but the psychedelic stuff is classy futuristic stuff. Check of JP Noir.
